Timber Valley Chalet provides 4 seasons of rest, relaxation and outdoor fun. 3 bd/2ba +basement to sleep 14 . 5G wifi, cable, full kitchen, fireplace, deck, firepit, backyard that opens up to the woods...everything you need. Easy access to all outdoor activities: ski (downhill & x-country), golf, snowmobile, fish, hunt, hike, bike, boat, swim, atv, snowshoe, ice skate...all in Gaylord. Centrally located in the top of the Mitt, we are also an easy drive to much of northern Michigan.

Nestled in the woods, you can watch deer roam the forest. It feels like home to us here and it is our goal for you to feel the same way. You'll find everything you need to stay connected or disconnect. Whether coming for just a weekend or staying for a month, we look forward to welcoming you to Timber Valley Chalet and helping you have your ideal up north getaway!

Great Property! Excellent for our trip

The Property was perfect for what we needed. Super clean on arrival, kitchen was well stocked. Listing said it slept 12 and there are 12 beds. We were there for a golf trip and it was a super easy drive to Treetops, ~20 mins away. Would absolutely book again.

Perfect!

The house was perfect for our girls weekend! Checking in was super easy and the house had plenty of room and space for all of us! Kristi was amazing and super helpful with things to do in the area. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again!

Gaylord getaway

House is located close to Gaylord. It comes with lots of amenities. The owner quickly responded to any messages. The house was as described and comfortable.

This was the third time we have stayed here. We really enjoy the house and property. It was more difficult this year with so many trees down in the area. We could not use the outdoor stairs, and the indoor stairs were difficult for my wife and i to navigate. Other than that, it was a great ten days. Kristi is a great host.

Beautiful house

This was a beautiful house to stay in very spacious and a homey feel it was easy to settle in. I was surprised at house much sand was on the property for its location we visited a lot of popular Destination that were a couple hours away from the property. It was nice to not be in a busy city but still be able to get to detsiona fairly easy we had a wonderful time

Great Family Getaway

We had a wonderful nine-day stay with the whole family. Everything was perfect. We had a lot of room. The beds were very comfortable. The outdoor firepit was nice. There were plenty of things to do in the area. You could stay there or explore other cities. When we had questions, our hostess was quick to respond. We'd love to go back!.

Great nine-day getaway

This week was the second year we went to this property. We truly enjoyed it. There was a lot of room for the baby who has learned to run, as well as the dog. The beds were comfortable. The outdoor firepit was nice at night. There was streaming so you could watch just about anything. Sadly, road construction season has begun.

great winter getaway!

We had a great time at the Forest Chalet. We were 4 adults and a dog. We had plenty of room and loved the choices of hang out space. Appreciated how accommodating Kristi was as we had to change our original stay date. We had great communication with her, she offered suggestions on places to eat and things to do & see. We especially enjoyed watching all the deer travel through the woods each evening. Got lots of good pictures of them. We had fun playing fooseball and baseketball and just having quiet time to read and visit. We built a cozy fire in the fireplace which was nice. We would love to come back in the summer when we could utilize the nice deck and firepit. Definitely recommend this house for family fun. Thank you Kristi and family for sharing your home.

Such a perfect place to take family and friends. An abundance of things to explore, do and keep busy away from the cabin and at the cabin. Highly recommend!

Family Wedding in Gaylord trip

Our family planned at trip up to Gaylord for a family wedding. This Timber Valley Chalet was a perfect Location to Gaylord restaurants, amenities, and all that the area has to offer. There were nine adults staying this visit and the family pooch as well. Our Accommodations were excellent and we had a great time playing games and relaxing on the wrap around decking. The 3 different levels of this chalet allowed for privacy and a perfect arrangement for sleeping for our group. The Fully stocked kitchen amenities were awesome and helped with our meal plans. We all would recommend this property to other small or large groups needing accommodations in the Gaylord Michigan area. Extra bonus for nature and animal lovers- Deer were seen each day at the property frolicking through the pine forest. So fun!

Home away from home

Everything about the experience was smooth and effortless. From booking, to arrival, and throughout out our stay. Kristi is a dream host and so thoughtful and responsive. The property itself is very beautiful. We immediately felt at home once we entered. The home was spotless, well appointed and spacious. The basement has 4 queen beds (2 bunks), a basketball game, foosball and board games. This was the area the kids hung out. There’s a bedroom and bath on the main floor, and then the 2nd floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. We went for a ski trip and took the kids to Tree Tops resort. It is about a 15 minute drive from the house and the perfect place to ski if you have small kids because everything is in a central location. Everyone in our group was happy and we all are excited to come back to visit in different seasons. Fall must be beautiful there!

You will never want to leave!

This was our second time staying at this property. We absolutely LOVE it here. First of all the hosts Kristi and Caen are seriously the best. Not only are they super quick to respond and offer suggestions for the property, they are EXTREMELY accommodating with any last minute changes or needs. While requesting changes was not our desired intention, let’s be honest life happens. I can’t stress enough how impressed I continue to be with their level of customer service and attentiveness to their guests. You truly leave this property feeling like you are the number one priority. We will continue to book this house every year now. The house is perfect for families providing ample space for everyone, while still allowing for togetherness and cherished family memories. Thank you 1000 times Kristi and Caen for opening up your gorgeous home to us. Even with a few bumps on our families end, you ensured we had the best weekend ever and showed concern for us that we will forever be thankful for. Thank you from The Williams Family ❤️❤️❤️

Book this house!

My family and I had an absolute blast staying at this property. The multi levels and basement make this house perfect for a large gathering, while still having privacy. My kids quickly turned the basement into their very own version of a man cave. Our daughter and her friends took over the upstairs, and my husband and I enjoyed the views and real fireplace on the main level. We will definitely stay here again and the hosts are great!!! Very impressive!

Ski and Winter Weekend

This property is beautiful, well maintained, and beautifully decorated with all the amenities you will need! The house was super clean and well appointed. By far the best VRBO property we have stayed at. We stayed for 3 nights. It is located within the Michaywe community so you have access to the clubhouse and restaurant about a mile away. We ordered take out from there on the last night. The clubhouse also has an indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna. Obviously, the indoor pool/hot tub is not available due to Covid but I wanted to mention it. There are also 2 beautiful golf courses on the Michaywe property if you go in the summer/fall. Kristi, the owner, is very responsive to all your questions! We had a few. We went skiing at Treetops which is about a 10-12 minute drive from the house. Otsego Club is also about 10 minutes away for skiing and a great snow tubing track. We also visited the old abandoned ski hill at Michaywe for some sledding. This is about 1/2 mile from the house. The kids loved the basketball shooting game in the basement and the dart board and fooseball table. The basement is a great hangout spot for the kids with two bunk beds as well. We built a couple fires in the stone fireplace on the cold nights. Bring/buy your own wood. It does help to have subscriptions to some streaming apps like Netflix, Roku, ATT TV, YouTube TV, Sling, Disney Plus, etc. We were able to use a couple of those apps to watch TV and movies. We couldn’t figure out the cable or possibly it wasn’t working. We had a great time and would no doubt stay again. Maybe a golf weekend in the summer or fall! Thank you Kristi!
