Casa Flora Peaceful Oasis in el centro long term specials!

This lovely well equipped Merida colonial is very welcoming with it's private pool and garden and authentic Mexican decor. The house has 1200sqft of living space on a lot that measures 30x80ft. Security is excellent with iron grates on all windows and doors. It is very well located 2 blocks from Plaza Santiago with markets, restaurants and music. It is the perfect place to be near all the action yet removed enough to offer an oasis resting in the garden hammock or enjoying tropical drinks.
This house has a pink oleander tree outside and opens from the street to a large double living room in which one room can be used a bedroom or studio. The master bedroom has a new orthopedic king size bed which looks out large French doors to the patio garden and has air-conditioning. The other bedroom has a double bed, is semi- private in between the master bedroom and the kitchen with a window high up on the wall and has AC. There is also a twin bed in the second studio-living room. The large kitchen has cross ventilation with large french doors opening to the patio. The entire house is filled with original art by owners Benjamin Davis and Marina Epstein and the furnishings made by local craftsman. The appliances are five years old. The air conditioned kitchen is fully equipped with a six burner stove- oven, coffee grinder, juicer, blender etc. The beautiful patio is well designed to enjoy relaxing in the hammock, eating outside on a marble table or barbecuing fresh fish that you can buy from Carmen in Parque Santiago.The patio is very quiet and private with banana, orange and papaya trees and well planted with flowering vines that grow on an arbor that gives a great deal of shade. Barrio Santiago has cat visitors frequently so this house is best suited for people that enjoy them and don't mind feeding them if they are hungry.

Guest access
The whole house is accessible except for the upstairs storage room. The back garden with pool is completely private and surrounded by stone and stucco walls.

Neighborhood overview
The Santiago neighborhood is well known as one of the most sophisticated barrios in Merida with its art galleries,restaurants and local markets. We walk home at night at all hours in this very friendly and safe place to live. Every Tuesday night Santiago comes alive with music as the Big Band serenades the neighborhood and people come out to dance under the stars.

Getting around
There is plenty of free parking right outside of the house. The buses that go to Plaza Grande are very nearby. The bus that goes to Progreso beach is a 5min walk from the house and leaves every twenty minutes.
We are a pet friendly home and it is best suited for people that desire the real Mexico and can adapt to the flora and fauna of the Yucatan. Monthly rates are discounted and do not include utilities or wifi in the rent, short term rentals do. Pets are welcome but please ask before booking , fees depend on length of stay.
