Built in 1898, this 2 story columned home with original stone wall is one of the oldest, largest and most recognized in the heart of downtown Wise, just one block from Main Street shopping and dining. Around the corner is UVa-Wise - the perfect location for those attending graduations, games and other college functions.

Hello! My wife and I look forward to hosting discerning guests at our beautiful historic home in the heart of downtown Wise. We live on the 1st floor and guest rooms are located on the 2nd floor. I work in professional theatre and education and my wife is a retired professional actor. We toured nationally and internationally for many years so we know what it's like to be visitors in new places. We always appreciated any touches of hospitality which acknowledged our ongoing quest for comfort, quality and care while on the road. We definitely looked forward to special alternatives and we hope our guests find that at Nottingham Place!

Nottingham Place is one of the oldest, largest and most recognized homes in the heart of downtown Wise, just one block from Main Street. Built in 1898, it has an original stone wall fence surrounding the front lawn and street. This Victorian Era Queen Anne style home has been slightly modified over the years - it no longer has a turret but we do have a guest room called The Golden Turret! The spacious Queens Chamber reminds guests Queen Anne style homes are among the top favorite architectural homes for over a century. Nottingham Place is over 120 years old, but guests will appreciate plenty of modern amenities. Central heat and A/C assures year round comfort and all 3 upstairs guest rooms have ceiling fans and heaters for additional options to suit individual preferences. Nottingham Place is in a perfect location - walking distance of restaurants, shops and around the corner from UVA-Wise. There are 3 small shopping centers nearby - one in downtown and the others a short drive away. Plenty of popular restaurants, walking & hiking trails and other activities are also within 15 -30 minute driving distances. Prefer to stay put? Guests may enjoy sitting outside on the fabulous covered and columned porch - spacious and inviting, plenty of seating options to choose - rocking chairs, wicker furniture, cushioned loveseats and other chairs, this beautiful porch has it all! It's a guest favorite, like "something out of Southern Living Magazine!". Enjoy small town charm as folks drive past or walk their pets. The neighbors are incredibly welcoming - you may find yourself chatting with one or two across the stone fence! The perfect location when attending Wise Fall Fling, Chillin' n Grillin' Festival, UVa-Wise events and sporting events nearby.
