Northern Michigan gem. This beautiful Cedar cabin is nestled in a private, quiet setting on the Sturgeon River in Indian CT River, Michigan. Enjoy the river views from the deck or sit back and relax by a camp fire. A lovely home with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, complete kitchen, laundry, family room, game room with a pool table. This is the perfect place to relax and listen to the sounds of the Sturgeon River or to take advantage of all of the area’s activities, including kayaking, tubing, rafting, ATV riding or fishing on the Sturgeon.

A public boat launch on Indian River is only about a mile away.
Walking distance to Trail 7 for walking, biking, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing.
5 minute drive to Burt Lake State Park with a sandy beach.
35 minutes from Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island Ferries.
Some of the best golf courses nearby, Indian River Golf Club, Hidden River, Black Lake Golf Club, Bay Harbor, Boyne Highland
Cooperation Park is 1 mile away which has activities such as baseball fields, soccer fields, ice skating rink, skateboarding, nature trail, and a large playground.

Great stay with convenient location to many of our favorite towns up north with quick access to local shops, groceries and restaurants. The house itself is beautiful, clean and great for a family.

This was our family's 2nd stay at the cabin and we absolutely love this place! The Curreys are exceptional hosts. The cabin is immaculately clean, the kitchen is well stocked and the location cannot be beat.

Great place, great stay

We really enjoyed our time here. The cabin was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace and jetted tub a huge bonus with the cold, wet weather we had during some of the days we stayed. The location right on the river is excellent. We would stay here again.

Great place, wonderful views and accommodations. Wish we could have accessed the river easier but once the downed trees are cleared up from the ice storm maybe that will change. Fire pit wasn’t set up because of the storm clean up also. Would stay again

This is a fantastic getaway located on a secluded bend of the Sturgeon River. Easy access to great restaurants, beautiful lakes, and endless amazing scenery. Would highly recommend this beautiful cabin to anyone!!

Excellent VRBO

Second year staying on the Sturgeon River. Great place to stay. Very nice accommodations. The host has thought of everything. The pool table is a huge plus. Very private upstairs accommodations. Minutes away from everything needed including the beautiful Burt Lake State park.

Beautiful and relaxing

Beautiful home and had everything we needed. Very clean! We enjoyed sitting down by the river and relaxing. Owners were quick to respond on any questions. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Michigan!

Upper MI vacation "Uncle Bucky's"

The home was very clean with an excellent view of the river. Very spacious allowing plenty of room to spread out. We built a fire in the fire pit most every night and enjoyed listening to the river pass by.. Very convenient location to the UP, Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island, which we visited all 3. We will definitely book again on our next visit to upper MI..

Unbelievable stay - blew away expectations

We have stayed at many properties along eastern seaboard and Midwest and by far this was the best yet. There always seems to be something small missing in other places but this was not the case with this property. Very well stocked and we didn’t find ourselves looking for anything or needing anything at all. Awesome location, great views, as comfortable as it gets!!!!

Beautiful, clean, and peaceful property.

From planning our trip, to arrival, and through our stay, communication was great. The place was very clean! My husband and I went for our anniversary trip and we couldn’t have asked for more. Petoskey is 30min, mackinaw is 30min. Fished on Burt Lake (min down the road) and Mullet Lake (25min). We had everything we needed at the cabin and it was super comfortable! Definitely would recommend and stay again!

IR Summer 23

We've been coming to the area for awhile. This was the place most applicable to what we do, boat and trout fish. This awesome spot covers the bases, and relatively secluded and private. Well-kept and very clean. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Scenic Spot

This property is private and has a great view while also being located conveniently near Burt Lake State Park. We found everything to be well stocked and user friendly. This house fit the needs of our family with multiple beds and spaces to hang out. (Although one sleeping area is not a legal bedroom with only a door and no other exits.) We did miss air conditioning as we had some hot weather, but there were multiple fans available to use. Owners were easy to connect with and friendly.

WONDERFUL STAY

What a wonderful stay my wife and I had at the Indian River cabin. The cabin and property were everything that was described on the VRBO website. The cabin is exceptional and the property is fantastic. We enjoyed the quietness of the surroundings and the Sturgeon river flowing through the property. The cabin location allowed us to take sight seeing trips and then come back to relax in the evenings. We enjoyed our stay immensely Rich and Lori are exceptional hosts. They kept in touch with details for the upcoming stay and always with an immediate response to messages. Truly a great experience. We hope to be back in the near future THANK YOU again Rich and Lori for making your cabin available.

Glorious Getaway

Our family loved our stay at the cabin! It was wonderful to be tucked away in the woods with such a scenic look over the Sturgeon River. The cabin was super cozy and had every convenience one could possibly need. Our boys loved hanging out in the game room area downstairs and having their own space. They also setup a whole outdoors game course and held family olympics with the fun activities that are offered for guests. It was a quick drive to swim at Burt Lake and so close to many other great places to visit such as Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Cheboygan or The Bridge. Our hosts were easily accessible to answer any question that came up and the cabin was immaculately clean. We just can't say enough great things about the Sturgeon Riverfront Cedar Cabin and hope we get the opportunity to stay again in the future.

Great getaway!

This place was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Northern Michigan. The house was immaculate and true to the photos. It had everything you could possibly need. The bed was also very comfortable. The check in and check out process was a breeze and the communication was great. Great Proximity to everything. We fished from the backyard and caught rainbow trout. We canoed down the Sturgeon river a couple of days. We checked out downtown Indian River, along with Burt Lake and Mullet Lake, both lakes were so nice. Each day it was great to head back to the cabin for a fire in the fire pit while listening to the river, we even tried night fishing. The neighborhood was quiet. All in all it was just a great place. Thanks to Rich and Lori for sharing your awesome cabin with us. We hope to come back.

Perfect Home-base for Fun

This cabin offered comfort next to the beautiful Sturgeon River. The sound of the river flowing past the fire pit was so relaxing. If you want some adventure launch your kayak from the backyard. My family and I were able to have so many adventures while using this property as our home-base. -Petosky Beach -International Dark Park -Mackinaw City -Kayaking in the Sturgeon River, Burt Lake and Lake Michigan -Putt-putt in Petosky -Tahquamenon Falls -Whitefish Point -Glassbottom Shipwreck tour/snorkeling in Lake Huron (yes, it was cold) -Sleep Bear Dunes National Park The property owner, Rich, was extremely helpful. He answered all my questions promptly. I appreciated that he took time to give me suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area. We had an amazing time discovering Michigan. This property allowed us to relax and refresh between our adventures. I really hope I can return.

Overall, good experience

This property had everything we needed for our stay, and was very centrally located to destinations. It was very cozy and had plenty of things, (including the game room, with boardgames and a pool table,) to keep our children busy. The only issue we felt there was, was the master bedroom mattress was pretty stiff 😕 and though we understood the reasoning, we were a little uncomfortable with there being a camera located at the front door of the property, and on a tree, on the property. As a property owner, we understood the reasoning, as it was explained in a property binder, on the counter, but we just didn't realize this would be the case, until our check in. (Maybe put that in the listing, in case future occupants would like to be aware? ) But, overall, still, a good experience and would recommend this property to others.

Family Vacation

Overall, we had a great stay at your place in Indian River! The house was situated on a beautiful property with great views of the river and easy access to the river. It was easy to find and in close proximity to all surrounding activities. The house was well stocked with all needed amenities including kitchen items, linens, soap, toilet paper, paper towels, TV, games, wifi, fans, washer and dryer. It was great to have the extra kitchen items; keurig, crock pot, toaster, etc. We did a lot of cooking at the house, and for a group our size, we could have used a larger pot, but other than that, we had everything we needed. We were concerned about lack of AC, but the weather was mild and it really wasn't needed. Outside had plenty of amenities also. Grill, fire pit, adorandak chairs, yard games, firewood, swing, large garbage cans. We spent a lot of time in the yard and appreciated all that was available for our use. We appreciated the binder with wifi, TV & other important info and clear instructions for departure "to do" list. Upper Michigan was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay!

Overall we had a nice stay. The property was very clean and situated close to many of the popular up north towns. Sits on a pretty part of the river and has everything you need for your stay. A few things not mentioned is that in the summer there are a lot of kayakers going by because there is a pick up and drop off at the edge of the property. It probably won’t bother most people, but I was looking for a quiet getaway. Sitting out by the river was not quiet as people kept going by and saying hi and commenting on how much they liked my house. Another thing that was not mentioned and upset my stay was there no use of the closet in the master bedroom. It was locked. I like to unpack when I arrive and hang up my clothes. The option that was given to me when I contacted the owner was to use the closet at the bottom of the stairs where the vacuums are stored. There was room in there, but who wants to go up and down the stairs every time they are getting dressed. It irritated me everyday. Having access to the closet would have gotten the 5th star.
