Relax with Stunning Views of Canyon Ferry and the Belt Mountains!

Welcome to Captain's Quarters, located at the north of Canyon Ferry Lake in the Belt Mountains just a short walk to the lake. Fishing has been great. The guys pictured here in the hot tub spent the day on the river catching rainbow & brown trout.

Captain’s Quarter is an ideal “home away from home” built on the lower level of my 2-story home. The open-concept living room/kitchen and the master bedroom and patio have spectacular views. The back bedroom's two oversized twin beds can be converted into a comfy king-size bed. Smart TVs are provided in both the living room and the back bedroom. The expansive spa-like bathroom features double sinks, a spacious walk-in shower with dual shower heads, features plush towels, The outdoor patio has your own private hot tub, outdoor tables and chairs, a gas grill, and a blackstone. There is a stackable washer/dryer. Laundry tablets, bleach, and dryer sheets are provided. The kitchen has a variety of spices, staples & condiments.

If you need more space, I also have a studio unit with a private entrance and bath available on the second level: VRBO # 2179416.

Canyon Ferry is situated on the Missouri River amidst the Big and Little Belt Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountains that extend from Mexico to Canada. Our area is rich in year-round outdoor activities, or you can venture into town to explore Helena's historic charm. This year, our Montana Heritage Center reopened after a 4-year renovation. Explore the places, people, and ideas that shaped our state from ancient times to the present. Administration is free.

Quiet hours are 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. There is a four hour limit for visitors. Smoking allow on the bench in the front yard.
The hot tub is available for registered guests only. No parties or events.
Your dog must be on a leash when outside. There are cats, deer and other wildlife in the area. It is not toleft alone in the unit. Clean up poop.

This was a beautiful location. The view every morning and evening was incredible. Absolutely stunning. Easy access, amazing and kind host, incredibly clean, and well stocked. Probably the best stocked and thoughtful stay we’ve had in a vacation rental. The beds were comfortable and there is a restaurant right down the road that’s excellent. Our host was so patient and understanding with our small kids (tend to be loud) and we truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Location

My wife and I enjoyed our stay during our visit to Helena. The host has done an amazing job stocking the property and we found it extremely comfortable. There is a fully stocked kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a family room with a couch, fireplace, and nice TV setup.

Perfect place

Beautiful cozy apartment

The view and location are amazing. We loved watching the chipmunks, hummingbirds, and deer pass by and the marina was right across the street where we launched our boat. The host was kind and very accommodating to all of our needs! The apartment was beautiful, had everything we needed, and comfortably fit our family of 5.

Sparkling clean with amazing views!

It is a beautiful new space that is sparkling clean. She has everything you would ever need in there and more. She is available if needed, but also gives you space if you prefer. We will definitely stay here again when visiting family at the lake.

A little trip to the lake

Beautiful property! We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. Soft, thick towels and bedding. All you can do is stare at the lake. And we caught a couple of trout! Definitely will be back!

My son and I spent Christmas at Kathi's Captain’s Quarters near Helena, and it was unforgettable. The view alone is worth the trip—this home isn’t just near the lake, it is on the lake. Waking up to sunrise over the water while sitting in the hot tub felt like a gift in itself.The cabin was spotless and stocked far beyond what we expected. Every detail felt thoughtful, from the kitchen supplies to the little conveniences that made our stay effortless. Kathi even decorated for Christmas, which made the space feel warm, festive, and welcoming the moment we walked in.The location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We loved relaxing by the fireplace, and we were delighted when deer wandered right up to the door. It felt like stepping into a winter postcard.Kathi was an exceptional host—responsive, kind, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. She even watched our little dog, Mazy, so we could explore the area without worry. That level of care is rare and so appreciated.We will absolutely be returning again and again. The Captain’s Quarters has become one of our favorite places, and we can’t wait for our next stay.

This a a beautifully decorated apartment unit with everything you need for a relaxing stay by Canyon Ferry Lake. The view is wonderful and the location ideal. Eating options nearby and an easy drive into town. Kathi is easy to get to know and wants to make your stay great.

Wonderful place to get away and catch your breath. Enjoy tranquil views of the water during the day and an inspiring appearance of the Milky Way by night. Kathi is an amazing host who has thought of everything to make your stay memorable.

I am a people person. While I respect your privacy, if you want to join me on my deck, I would love to get to know you. Someone recently asked what the worst thing was about having a VRBO property. I replied, "You meet the nicest people, and then they leave."

I am the kind of person who likes to give my best to anything I do. I am always thinking of ways to make rentals as nice as I can.

I often have my Merlin app while on my deck to identify the birds I feed. On May 20th, Merlin identified 50 different species of birds. The ospreys that nest a few hundred yards away are often seen bringing fish to the nest. Last year, I saw one of the parents fly over with a fairly large, live snake. There is also a bald eagle nest that can be seen from the lake. I have watched that pair raise 2 chicks for over 20 years.

I was lucky enough to spend my childhood summers on Lake Okoboji, Iowa. Later, our family moved to Colorado, where I fell in love with the mountains. Fast forward many years, and here I am with the best of both worlds.

THE VIEWS!!! I never tire of the ever-changing, amazing views. Also, it is a quiet place with easy access to town.

After many years of coming to Canyon Ferry on weekends, I bought this property. It had a 1965 untitled double-wide. In October of 2018, I scrapped the property & started building. I designed a home to be multifunctional. I wanted it to be able to meet a variety of needs for today & as life changes. With the help of some very talented people, my home exceeds everything I could have imagined.

Watch YouTube: "CANYON FERRY ICE SKATERS" to see what winter looks like here. The clip was taken January 16th, 2019. I was with my contractor & his helper standing on the subfloor of the second story of my future home. The lake had frozen two days before. We watched as about a dozen experienced skaters enjoyed the perfect (although too thin for my tastes) ice as a drone filmed from overhead.

I have done some traveling, so I know what it takes to make a great vacation rental. I want you to be able to slow down, unwind, relax, and have a stress-free vacation. I know what I like in a vacation rental. I provide an inviting, well-equipped property for your enjoyment. Your comfort is very important to me. I have high-end beds and linens. I provide plenty of laundry products, shampoo, dish soap & dishwasher tablets, coffee, etc. Our well is excellent, so no need for bottled water. The kitchen is well appointed & stock with many basics. I leave non-perishables. If you need something just holler. I am involved in every cleaning to insure the unit meets my standards & exceeds yours.
