About Terrasse de Mer:

A dramatic, winding hillside road delivers you to Terrasse de Mer, set high above the beach and civilization. It's an exotic and private oasis. The moment you enter the large courtyard; you are in the midst of a stunning 360-degree view. Behind you are neighboring mountains; in front of you is Anguilla, so close you can touch it. Enter the front door and a brilliant, variegated scene flows before you, painted in greens and blues. Within your scope are the verdant island peaks, Baie Rouge Beach, and Marigot with its poetic marinas. The sightline stretches to Creole Rock in Grand Case and beyond to the Atlantic's horizon. The sapphire sea is everywhere.

Expansive terraces and covered spaces, for dining and lounging, surround the beautiful heated pool perched at the terrace's edge. The natural vistas from the pool create a secluded atmosphere. A wall of seaside columns anchors the view and frames Anguilla. Parallel to Anguilla, above Baie Rouge Beach, is a long terrace with two gazebos, each with sliding glass doors; one with a Jacuzzi. The villa's red zinc roof and white walls create a peaceful Caribbean backdrop to the natural beauty.

The spacious main living area, featuring new furniture, is comfortable and stylish. The view is amazing! The decor throughout the interior has a romantic, elegant attitude in white, cream, and Indonesian teak accented with charming exotic accessories. Just off the main room, the inviting French county kitchen looks out to the sea connecting the chef to nature. Dine inside off the terrace or at the high kitchen counter. Work in the office space off the living room or hit the private gym.

The four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are equal size and air-conditioned. Two are connected to the main house. One is off the terrace and the other in a private casita off the courtyard. The bathrooms are spacious with garden or sea views.

You are secluded yet close to amenities. It's a short drive to Baie Rouge Beach and a few minutes to Baie Nettle's restaurants. In 10 minutes you reach the charming French capital of Marigot with restaurants, shops and galleries, historic buildings, and the Creole Market. Drive 25 minutes to Grand Case, 10 minutes to the international airport, and 30 minutes to Philipsburg's shopping haven.

This villa can be rented as a 2, 3 & 4 bedroom villa.

The kitchen and dining areas were more than ample for everyone to cook/eat. The villa is close enough to pretty much anything there is to do: jet skis, beaches, patisseries/boulangeries, restaurants, etc., but private enough and quiet at night. All of the bedrooms are essentially the same with the exception of the completely separate bungalow. The pool is wonderful, the hot tub is great, and the views are spectacular. Paula takes care of everything at the house and is a wonderful woman, so kind and helpful. We've been here twice now and wouldn't hesitate to return with a large group.

The house is very functional and the pool deck is large. The furnishings are a little antiquated but serviceable. I would opt for the view and the excellent layout over and newer house with no view. Paula the house keeper is the best. It was just my wife and I on this trip and she respected our privacy. I would definitely rent this villa again.

Terasse de Mer is a beautiful 4-br villa overlooking Baie Rouge in Terres Basses. Two of the BRs are connected directly to the house, 1 is accessible from the outside patio, and the 4th is a completely separate cottage. The kitchen is large and well-equipped w/ a gas stove and plenty of seating. There's a large tv and in/out sound system. There's a large couch and plenty of places to sit. The large pool is heated and there's also a small hot tub. It's not an infinity pool, but you can hear the waves from the beach below, and the outdoor space is spectacular. The only suggestion would be to add an umbrella or 2 for shade. The bedrooms are comfortable and large, each with a tv, but no outdoor showers. The wifi is better than average and worked all over the house and outside as well. Paula is a lovely woman who helps with the house and left us as many beach towels as we needed. For a family requiring multiple bedrooms, this house is perfect: comfortable, private, the view can't be beat!
