Cayman Dream: Rum Point Beach Bungalow med pool til Oceanfront Living

I am glad you found the house itself to be GREAT!. Cayman Dream is a wonderful 2BR cottage on a full acre of oceanfront land in Rum Point. Well maintained and offers a great first impression. I am sorry that the storms brought seaweed and ocean flotsam to the beach during your stay. The seaweed is seasonal and storm related... the flotsam comes from cruise ships and poorer Caribbean countries that throw trash into the sea. That said, I don't have any record of phone-calls or emails from you asking our manager or ourselves to send someone over to rake the beach or collect trash. We would have liked to have had the opportunity to remedy the beach for you while you were on island...not after you return home and then deduct two stars for an act of mother nature that we have no control over and for which you did not ask for our help to remedy. The house, pool, A/C, cleanliness were all 5 star. I wish you had communicated with us directly during your stay. We provide email address and phone numbers.

We are happy you liked the home. I do need to add some clarification to your comments: 1. The Sargassum seaweed covered the Caribbean this summer. Many resorts in the eastern Caribbean shut down completely. Grand Cayman was spared the worst due to its western location in the Caribbean. The weather moved the seaweed daily. Some homes that had bad seaweed one day could be clear the next (and vice versa) depending on wind direction and waves. We updated ALL of our guest for ALL of our properties just prior to arrival. Most guests appreciated the gesture - our competitors offered no updates. Had we notified you only a week earlier, the report would have been a clean unaffected beach - which would have been inaccurate for your week. We are proactive in keeping our guests updated with events that pertain to their vacations. 2. I spoke with the local manager and the cleaning crew. The call to the house came at 8:30am, not 7am. The island is still asleep at 7am (ergo the phrase "island time"). I do not believe they actually showed up before 10am either. 3. You never spoke with the owners. We manage the home for the owners, as we do with our 65+ other properties. So you can not speak to the honesty of the owner. And what was it that we were dishonest about in the first place as managers??? I understand your displeasure with the Sargassum seaweed issue. It was a tough summer. But luckily we were spared the worst . From Barbados to Cancun, the seaweed was bad. Your review is punitive to a wonderful home and an owner you had no contact with.
