We are renting a charming, historic 130-square-meter house in the town of Saint-Étienne-de-Boulogne with a private pool. This is a one-time rental opportunity, an inner courtyard, and a two-car carport (enclosed by a large gate) in a peaceful setting 15 minutes from Aubenas and 20 minutes from Privas.
The rental can accommodate six people (with the option to add two single-person extra beds).
The house features a 25-square-meter fully equipped kitchen on the first floor (dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, 3-burner gas stove, and a 44-liter mini-oven, dishes, and a baby high chair) that opens onto a 20 m² covered terrace equipped with an electric grill. A 30-square-meter dining room (with a vintage fireplace, a bookcase, a wooden table and chairs, and a china cabinet) that opens directly onto an 18-square-meter terrace above the pool (equipped with four lounge chairs). Wi-Fi internet access. A 20 m² living room with a sofa, numerous magazines and books about the Ardèche region, and a flat-screen TV. Two bedrooms on the first floor (one measuring 15 m² with a 140x190 bed and one measuring 12 m² with a 140x190 bed), both with built-in closets, 2 extra beds (90 x 190) and 2 baby cribs if needed. A 9 m² bathroom with a shower, bathtub, and baby bathtub, 2 toilets, a sink, and storage. Laundry area (with a laundry basket and drying rack). On the second floor, a 15 m² bedroom with a 140×190 bed.
In the courtyard, under the covered terrace, a relaxation area with a lounge and foosball table. The courtyard is adorned with a variety of plants (honeysuckle, jasmine, hollyhocks, lavender, olive trees, grapevines, flowers, and more). A shaded hammock area in a cool spot. A large sheepfold with a game area (ping-pong table and many board games). In the courtyard, you can play pétanque. Pets are not allowed. The house is located in the hamlet of La Conchy, in a quiet rural setting, 2 km from Departmental Road 104 and 1 km from the village center (which has a bistro and grocery store). The rental is located halfway between the warmer, more touristy south (Vallon Pont d’Arc, Voguë, Balazuc)—with the Pont d’Arc Cave, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, just 45 minutes away— several caves, including Aven Marzal and Aven d’Orgnac, and the Ardèche Museum in Balazuc; and halfway to the Ardèche Plateau, which is more natural and has a temperate climate (Gerbier de Jonc, farms, and the lakes of Issarlès and Saint-Martial). Numerous trails around the house offer lovely walks among chestnut trees, with panoramic views of the Ardèche Mountains and the Escrinet, as well as mountain biking excursions along many trails. Just a 5-minute drive from the house is the village of Vesseaux (bakery and pastry shop, butcher shop), less than 15 minutes from Aubenas (market on Saturday mornings, castle, numerous shops, and supermarkets) and less than 20 minutes from Privas (prefecture of the Ardèche, market on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings, numerous shops, and two supermarkets). Several charming villages (Antraigues with the Jean Ferrat Museum, Alba la Romaine, Labeaume…). 20 minutes from Vals-les-Bains (night market, Sunday morning market, mini-golf, large park, spa town). Within 20–30 minutes, there are lovely spots for swimming in the river (Labastide-sous-Besorgues, Jaujac, Thueyts, Pont-de-Labeaume, and more). We recommend visiting the Ardèche-guide website to find plenty of ideas for tours and outings, based on your preferences and rental dates.
