THE SEA SHANTY - A HOMER SEASIDE COTTAGE

The SEA SHANTY is a lovely 2 story HOMER SEASIDE COTTAGE, located in Homer's Old Town District within easy walking distance to several coffee shops, bakery, galleries, creperie, restaurants, and THE BEACH! Private location with 2 decks and an ocean view. Set back from the street, the yard is visited by the local wildlife...moose, rabbits, sandhill cranes and, pheasants. The upper level has a second living room with a TV and Space for two sleeping pads on the floor
For a total of sleeping 6 ..The view from the upper deck takes in Kachemak Bay, the mountain range across the bay, Grewingk Glacier, Beluga Slough, and Augustine Volcano. Each bedroom has a queen bed. There is a full bathroom on each floor. The cottage has an assortment of table games, puzzles, and books. This cottage is pet-friendly for pre-approved pets. The pet fee is $35/stay.

Check in was super easy. The Sea Shanty was perfect for an Alaska 'staycation'. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Connie is flexible and accommodating. Four adults came from out of town to visit family. Our 8 yr old AK granddaughter stayed with us each night and loved being with us. We ate out for breakfast/brunch/lunch meals but cooked all of our meals in the kitchen for us and our AK family. A little crowded for 10 of us, but we made it work and had a great time! Will definitely stay there again when we return.

We loved staying at the Sea Shanty - Homer Seaside Cottages. Our cottage exceeded our expectations and the location which is very close to Bishop's Beach was perfect.

Beautiful place

Great place -perfect location. We enjoyed the noise family in the back yard and the bald eagles. Went fishing and cooked up our catch and enjoyed the wildlife!

Wonderful Location and good communication with the property manager. We stayed at this property one year ago and it was definitely cleaner this year except for many cigarette butts in flower pots on both porches even though this is a non-smoking property. The sea shanty is close to historic downtown restaurants and bakeries and is very quiet at night. A short walk to the beach and a short drive to the Homer spit makes this a good place to stay.

Vacation in Homer

We had a wonderful stay at the Sea Shanty! Loved being so close to the water and within walking distance to bakeries and restaurants. We even got to see a moose snacking right by the house! Accommodations were great, we would love to come back someday! Thank you!

Perfect!

My best friend (from the lower 48), husband and I (from Wasilla, Alaska) stayed two nights. It was perfect for us. The location could not have been better. Walking distances to several wonder places to eat. Homer is a wonderful town and enjoyed visiting again. The Sea Shanty was extremely clean. Would stay there again! Thank you

Perfect Location

Second time staying at Homer Seaside Cottages. Stayed in the Sea Shanty cottage, which is stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location can't be beat - short walk to Bishop's Beach, and minutes away from Espresso shop, restaurants, and Two Sisters Bakery. Connie is a perfect host and very accommodating. Can't wait to stay here again.

Sea Shanty, 4-7 July 2025

The Sea Shanty was the perfect place for our family of 5 adults. There’s room for everyone. The place is spacious, sparkly clean, and the location is unbeatable. So close to town, Two Sisters, Bishops Beach, and a short drive to the spit. The furnishings are basic, in great clean and working condition -all you need to make for a comfortable stay. The upstairs patio has a beautiful view of the ocean and both upstairs and downstairs patio are perfect to sit, hang out and have your coffee or share a meal. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly! Can’t wait to come back!

Sea Shanty Homer Fun

Loved our stay at the Sea Shanty. The location is ideal for walking to the beach or enjoying yummy local food establishments. Small hiccup with a foldout couch that Connie quickly addressed even on a holiday weekend.

Sporting even

Friend and I in for the weekend to play some sports and enjoy the town. Did not disappoint as always and the sea shanty was perfect. Clean, quiet and gorgeous surroundings. It had all we needed for fun and relaxation.

Perfect location in a town like no other.

We had a wonderful three night stay. This was the perfect location and a perfect place to stay just outside of Homer Spit. Walking distance of Bishop’s beach. Communication and getting in and out of the cottage were very easy. Clean rooms, bathrooms, hot showers, great views and stocked kitchen. My family loved our stay. We’ve already discussed coming back and booking again Thank you for your hospitality!

Fishing access

Two couples were very comfortable. Upstairs was a nice deck to enjoy the evening. Living room was upstairs too with a TV but we didn’t really utilize that with a great view preferred.

Homer gem

My granddaughter and I spent three nights at the Sea Shanty and it had everything we needed! The kitchen was spacious and had every tool necessary for dining in. Each bedroom had its own bath and we thorough enjoyed the living room and outside space. Morning coffee on the upstairs deck was the perfect way to start the day with chirping birds and bay views. We couldn’t have asked for a more awesome place to call home. Thank you, Connie, for your welcome and directions for an easy checkout. We will return.
