Property is in great location, right on the beach. It's drivable north and south but not walkable which is ok as long as you have a car. We were there during construction and water was shut off one of the days so if going anytime soon, check and see status. Otherwise, lovely studio.

The property was nice but missing a couple of amenities the hot water in the shower did work properly and I got last minute parking instructions about what size of rental car I should use and lastly we had to stream our own TV service I know I was on vacation but I do like watching the news in the morning to keep up on things

It feels similar to a cabin. Please know the laws about green turtles before you go... they are on the beach every night. It was exciting to sit and wait for them to come ashore.

As a place to stay while experiencing Hawaii the cottage was incredible.With the trade wind breeze and sound of the surf 30 ft away thru the abundant windows it could have been a hundred years ago. Having quiet without the sounds of traffic, air conditioners and lawnmowers is rare. Very clean and well equipped including some beach items. Had turtles on very first walk on the beach!Would actually live here!

My family had an amazing time staying at this location. The views were incredible especially the sunrise every morning. The beach is private and the snorkeling was wonderful. Plenty of marine life including sea turtles which we had the pleasure of swimming with. I especially loved that this was on the windward side of the island away from the congestion of Waikiki. If you're looking for that true island vibe I highly recommend checking this place out. You won't be disappointed. It is a short drive to the north shore or Kaneohe. Our host Karon was so helpful with our accommodation and made our stay as comfortable as it could possibly be. I will definitely be staying here again in the future. Beautiful view. Wonderful beach! Lots of turtles as described. Lovely grounds out front along the beach. Lots of beach toys and towels, etc. The kitchen was nice. Parking was a nightmare but that’s not on the cottage manager. There was construction. Redo of pipes under parking area. I do think the description wasn’t totally forthright. It is a cottage cut into 4 units. When we arrived, We had to contact cottage manager to find out which cottage, turns out there were 3 cottages and that was when we were told we were in an upper unit, up stairs. This was not mentioned in the description. Neither was the fact that the cottage was 4 units. I did indicate that we were older people. Dragging luggage up two sets of stairs was difficult after having to drag luggage across the front lawn due to the construction. Stairs were in need of some repair. Lots of walkways were blocked or unusable. WiFi was spotty. Some of the windows along dining table area are in need of repair. Beautiful area!

This would have been a five star rating if it weren’t for the difference between what the listing said and reality. The location and views were absolutely unparalleled and the cottage was very clean and well appointed. The semi-private beach was amazing. Our only issue is that the listing stated that there would be “two queen beds and a double futon.” There was one queen, one twin, and a cane couch that should not qualify as a bed. We had four adults and this made it a very uncomfortable. The listing also stated an oven was available, so we planned on cooking and what was available was a microwave/convection oven. We felt very misled by the listing. If the listing had been honest, I would have no complaints at all about this cottage.

While this location is fabulous for the beach, the room was misrepresented. I booked this in July for a December trip. It was listed as a 1-bedroom with 2 queen beds and 1 double futon. In reality, it was a studio with a king bed and a twin. My daughter ended up sleeping on a small not so comfortable couch. Also, one of the screens was missing which we didn’t realize until morning when my son woke up with lots of little bug bites. When I reported this, I was told it would take weeks for repair. Not optimal. It would have been nice to have been told the screen was missing instead of positioning it was fine. We also had to pay fees which are not being charged now. Keep checking on that. There was construction during the day which was loud but we missed most of it since busy. The cottage was bit tired. Those turtles on the beach- makes up for most of the frustration. Hauula is very special place and the Coffee Cove nearby is a gem.

Check-in was very frustrating. Less than an hour before check in we still had no check in info. They did not respond on the app, I had to contact vrbo to get a phone number and track down the property manager. She was rude & the call was not a great start to our trip. On the listing it said it had a washer/dryer onsite, it turns out it is outside/downstairs and shared between several units (they since changed it in the listing). The unit was sticky & dirty, I killed several bugs within the first couple of minutes there, there was long dark hairs in the bathroom, and the rugs looked like they've never been cleaned. There is very little privacy and we had to move furniture to try and keep the curtains closed so that other units were not looking in where we would be sleeping (the shutters are fixed open and cannot close, blowing the curtains open). The blinds to the bathroom are broken & people can see right into it. We did not feel safe there & decided not to stay. The construction going on, is a big issue, we were not made aware that the parking lot was being torn up, so parking was not close. I will say, the view was beautiful from this unit, but absolutely everything else was absolutely unacceptable. VRBO was also awful to deal with, this was our first time having an issue after years of using them worldwide, now that we know how awful their customer service is when issues arise, we do not recommend using them.

Highly Recommend

This was a great place to stay. Our first 2 days were spent in Waikiki and, though it was beautiful, the crowds-noise-traffic made it hard to enjoy the experience. We stayed for 6 days Thur-Tue at the beachfront cottage in Punaluu. It was so peaceful and quiet the entire time. It took a little getting used to not having air conditioning, as it was pretty warm during our stay, but we did adjust pretty well and definitely made use of the fans that were provided. Walking 50 feet to the water and waking up to the amazing sunrise every morning, was more than we could have imagined for our first trip to the island.

Perfect location!

We loved this location for a low-key, relaxing stay on Oahu. It was wonderful to wake up to the views and sounds of the ocean every day and have a quiet beach right outside. Amenities were only a 5-15 minute drive away.

The second floor cottage was perfect for views, sounds of the ocean and swimming.

The unit looks just like the VRBO photos show. Although the square footage is small, the tall ceilings of the main space and many windows opening to views of the ocean are fantastic. This is a perfect cottage for 2 adults (3 max in my opinion). Very comfortable king sized bed, fouton for extra person(s)- not as comfy, compact but well stocked kitchen, and nice sized bathroom. The windows with 180 degree views (all can be opened) of the ocean were magnificent and what we enjoyed most. The dining area is tight for more than 3 adults. That said, we were there for the views, sounds and proximity to swimming and did not care to have a huge kitchen or privacy of an extra bedroom. The mid rise condo very close behind the 3 cottages (each 4 plexes) was fine- totally blocked any vehicle noise from the main road that was quite close but with virtually no impact when you were on the beach. Parking spot stayed cool as it was under a concrete canopy. If you’re looking for “standard condo fancy” this is not it. But if you like the simplicity of old school cottages - this is perfect.

Great view and location

The location was great only being twenty yards from the ocean and sleeping to the sounds of nature was amazing. Construction to the condo building behind the cottage was an eyesore and limited parking spots. One of the coffee tables and both of the futon beds were severely rusted also. The host was very helpful with getting wifi to work but never got the cable to work for the TV. Overall the place needs some upgrades but worth the price.

I first came to Hawaii many years ago, for the same reason you are probably coming to visit......perfect weather all year, beautiful views from everywhere, a relaxed, ultra-healthy lifestyle, and lots of out-door activities to enjoy! Hosting in Hawaii is what I enjoy because I am a real estate agent and a retired science teacher...both careers brought me in daily contact with many people from around the world.

I used to live on Kauai, my favorite island, and when I moved to Oahu, this location was closest I could come to replicating the same lush, tropical, back-to-nature feeling Kauai has.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

Location, location, location...this location has it all, except crowds and busy traffic. Peaceful and close to the beach...this is my ideal spot. See giant green-sea turtles sleep on our beach at night before heading out to sea at dawn.
