This mountain cottage is perfect for families or groups, offering restful and spacious bedrooms for everyone. The master bedroom features a king memory foam bed, Smart TV with premium Cable & wifi, ceiling fan, and private bath with double sinks and a combination tub/shower (jets not operating). The second bedroom has a queen memory foam bed and private bath with double sinks and tub/shower and Smart TV with premium Cable. The third bedroom is a kid-friendly space with Twin XL over Queen bunk bed, memory foam mattresses, and Smart TV.

The kitchen is a chef's dream with high-end appliances, sturdy pots and pans, and extras like a crock pot, rice cooker, air fryer, popcorn machine and coffee maker. We loved Bluebird Day Cottage!!!!

We chose to spend Christmas in the Highlands this year and Jennifer/Barrett’s cabin was the perfect choice!!!! The cabin is so cute, spacious and in an amazing location. Plus…it is dog friendly and our Frenchie felt right at home, too! Jennifer provides ample instructions and communication so you know exactly where to go and what to expect. Cannot say enough good things about their cabin and their hosting! We’ll be back!!!

Being able to walk into town was a plus. The gated yard is great for small pets. All the living spaces are wonderful and the kitchen is stocked for whatever cooking and meals you want to enjoy.

Fantastic stay! The home was clean, comfortable, and the perfect location for our girls’ trip.

This mountain retreat was everything we hoped for and more! The home was spotless and well laid out, with plenty of room and bathrooms for our group. The location was ideal—peaceful and scenic but still convenient. The owner was friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. We’d definitely come back!

Great mountain retreat!

Wonderful property nestled in the mountains. Well appointed house, beautiful layout, and lovely outdoor space with fire pit!Great screened porch as well for entertaining our entire family! Wonderful hosts to work with and our pups had a blast in fenced in area! Great mountain week!

Great location and inviting decor!

The welcoming Bluebird Cottage has an open feel and is near the activity of Main Street, the Botanical Gardens, and hiking. The kitchen, yard and screen porch are well designed and maintained. The host communicates quickly if you have any needs. It is also quite a welcoming home for dog owners!

We had a great stay at BBD!

The cottage is close to downtown , very well equipped and comfortable for just my husband and myself but happy when we had daughter and her husband for a few nights Love the generator just in case, all sorts of board and card games for cozy rainy afternoons and a TV for everyone!! We booked thinking we would bring our dog but did not -sorry we didn’t -it was perfect for pups

This rental property is the best one we have ever stayed in! Everything was perfect! The setting was beautiful, the home was immaculate and everything you could possibly need was in their home. The location was also wonderful! 3-4 minutes to downtown! Great experience! We hope to go back again one of these days!

Perfect Home for our family vacation!

We chose this beautiful home because of its location as well as the fact we could bring our family dog! Everything was clean, super comfortable and so charming- from the relaxing screened in porch to the great kitchen to the outdoor fire pit area. Our adult children loved staying here with my husband and me for a full week of hiking and shopping and dining in the gorgeous Highlands! We had the best time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the adorable Blue Bird Cottage!

Cozy House Convenient to Downtown Highlands

Cozy cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was cool so we made good use of the gas fireplaces. The location was very convenient to downtown and all the great local restaurants.

Very comfortable, well stocked house. Nice living spaces, great fenced patio with firepit. Lovely surroundings. Away from town but an easy walk into town.

We currently live in Melbourne Beach, FL with our two French Bulldogs, Gouda and Brie. We love the outdoors and have been avid stand up paddleboard and outrigger canoe racers since 2010. Around that time we decided to vacation in North Georgia on Lake Burton to escape the summer heat of Florida. We stopped in Highlands after hiking Rabun Bald, which is part of the Bartram Trail. We've explored many small towns for a "mountain getaway vacation rental" and kept returning to Highlands for its unique charm. We've owned and managed several popular short term vacation rentals on St Simons Island, GA and Fernandina Beach, FL. So this isn't new to us. In 2020 we decided to look for a Highlands getaway we, and our guests, could enjoy. After looking at many, we decided this cottage had everything we wanted in our Highlands getaway and became the proud owners in January 2021.

The covered & screened front porch is an outdoor space that can be enjoyed most of the year, rain or shine! We love the open floor plan and multiple gathering spaces inside and outside the house. Let the two sets of gas log fireplaces warm you on a chilly morning. Then build a roaring fire in the outdoor firepit in the evening to roast marshmallows. Soak in the Master Bedroom's large tub and slip into linen bedding to dream of tomorrow's adventures.
