Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a hiker, or simply seeking beautiful views and relaxation, Velika planina invites you to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and experience the tranquility of the mountains. It consists of several pastures and is best known for its idyllic shepherds' settlement, centered around the Chapel of Mary of the Snows, which captivates every visitor. The area is most lively in the summer when shepherds fill the cottages and stay with their livestock until September. Visitors can taste local delicacies and enjoy a traditional shepherd's meal. Explore the Preskar Museum and the chapel. Stroll past cows, anthills, and traditional cottages. And for winter lovers – winter on Velika planina is magically enchanting.
