The home was beautiful and perfect for our group. The host was wonderful - easy to reach and responsive. I will highly recommend this VRBO to anyone I know looking for a place to stay in the Houghton/Hancock area.

Beautiful house, in a great location for us. Mary was an excellent host. The house was probably the cleanest VRBO house we've ever stayed in, and was well stocked with paper products and toiletries. Would strongly recommend.

Our son was getting married in Calumet and this very large home was just perfect “base-camp” for our immediate family traveling into town. We could not have been more happy with the Old Vic. The owners/host have thought of everything. Wish we just had a bit more time to relax and enjoy everything this home had to offer. If we are ever back in the Hancock area, we will definitely stay here again.

Perfect stay

This house is so amazing! Anything you could need is provided. Thankfully 3 of the 5 bedrooms offered air conditioning units which was a lifesaver! Hope to be back again!

Nordic ski get away

We would recommend the Old Vic to anyone. It offers all that anyone could need. The proximity to some amazing cross country skiing was our draw and it did not disappoint. All the comforts of home.

Truly lovely house and whoever decorated it has great taste with fun attention to detail throught. It was well equipped with everything we needed and more. We felt really welcome. Great host - very responsive.

Lovely updated Victorian home

In town for Thanksgiving. We could not have picked a better home - very clean, spacious, with well equipped kitchen. Room for our family of 9. Would definitely stay again.

Baby get together

Such a comfortable stay! We brought family with 18 month old and 3 year old and when they saw 3rd floor they were so delighted. We then met 1 month old grandbaby from Calumet. For us all to be together was incredible. Loved northern lights we saw from the front yard. The beautiful fall colors on the Portage. Lunch at the Michigan House. Jam from the Jampot. We did it all.

Beautiful place, very well supplied!

We loved it. You will, too. It's a beautiful house, beautifully decorated, with beautiful artwork, and it may well be the best-supplied VRBO we’ve ever rented. Dear Mary, put this firepit in the back yard where there is a perfect opening for it: Solo Stove Yukon 2.0 smokeless fire pit —with stand and cover. Thanks for having us!

Great house, Centrally located

We all enjoyed the beautiful home with all the sitting rooms and excellently furnished. Close to both downtown Hancock and Houghton - we walked to local restaurants and had a splendid time in the house. The extra parking lot is not really a usable option, but there was ample parking on street and in the driveway for our 5 vehicles.

Winter Get-away

Historic Old Victorian with all the comforts of home and more. Close to all of the outdoor activities (snow shoe trails, skiing, snowmobiling) that we were interested in doing, and a short drive or walk from shops and reataurants. Welcoming note and treats from the host, great communication, everything above and beyond. 2nd visit here, we'll be back!

Beautiful large home, perfect for a family reunion. The decor honors the home’s history but includes upscale appliances and comfortable temperatures on all floors. Everything we needed was provided. We would love to stay here many times.

Yet, this fairytale home was not just a display piece; it seamlessly blended modern amenities with its classic charm to ensure our utmost comfort. It boasted top-notch appliances, a wide array of dishes, pots, and pans, and a generous selection of spices that made cooking a delight. The Old Vic does not disappoint

We had a group of friends caravan up to the Houghton Keweenaw area for the fall colors and great local offerings. I selected The Old Vic with the location, view, space & layout, and amenities for our group. All of the above expectations were met and in the property amenities exceeded. Mary, the property host, is beyond intuitive in her offerings at the property. Our plans for the stay were extensive, but we looked forward to the time we returned to The Old Vic to regroup and recharge. All the charm with so much of the original architectural finishes of the home coupled with the modern amenities and homey touches making it the best of all the offerings. We are glad we looked and booked early for the opportunity to experience this gem. Thank you, Mary, for creating the exceptional stay experience.

Super A+ Stay!

Our group of 8 celebrated our 70th birthdays together at this incredible historical home that seemed to wrap its arms around us from the moment we arrived! The amenities abound. The owner's talent for decorating was immediately noticed. Her desire to provide comfort was evident during our entire stay. This was the perfect location to tour Copper Country from. Fun was had and fond memories were made, thank you Mary!

We are Mary and Jan. We have been best friends for over 50 years. Mary grew up in Toivola and South Range (local), attending Jeffers High School. After moving to Wyoming and raising her family, then becoming widowed, she has returned to her roots. Looking for a new purpose, hosting has fit the bill. Jan, grew up in the Detroit area, attending college at NMU in Marquette and falling in love with the UP. She currently lives in Oregon.

Four season get away. This home will meet the needs of many, parking, sleeping, several get away rooms, deck grilling. Kids park and beach on the other side of the canal. Concerts in the park just below the home. Huge dining room table for your family gatherings. Glorious fall color viewing. Not to mention location, location, location.
