Thank you for the feedback. I shared the information about the kitchen with our cleaning crew, and they advised they would keep a better eye on it. I am not sure what happened because they are usually quite diligent. We had been in process to get quotes to clean the back deck but that was a remnant from the previous owners, most of our guests don’t spend time out there as a small space, but will look at it. We had thrown out the pillows the last time we were up there actually so that was something alrea du being worked on. Because it is such a heavy area of trees and we aren’t up there when guests arrive leaves can begin to accumulate. We don’t even talk about it as a feature of the home in the description because it isn’t a space really to gather but is cost prohibitive to either tear it down or find a way to enclose it for an additional living space or bedroom in the future. What you had shared about a “water feature or fountain” isn’t decorative it was the well. It has been a significant rain year and the water table has been exceptionally high so the water does come out, we will look to get updated but it isn’t a decorative piece it is a functional part of the home and sometimes those things can happen. The fire pit appeared to be cardboard that people will use to start their fires instead of throwing out and ending up in a landfill. I asked our cleaners to take a look when they clean and see if there are other items to remove. We had cleaned off and power washed the main house in early June and also sprayed the outside for bugs but the mayfly season is quite extensive. Our cleaning crew advised they will take a broom and clean as well. Our rates are not exorbitant. And the comfort of new mattresses, 2 rooms with king beds, new air conditioning central air, ceiling fans, spacious areas to gather or be alone, laundry facilities, bath and body works soaps and more are what has led to the high ratings as well as our connection to service. We are transparent in that we aren’t the Waldorf Astoria, but we have a great location, many solid and needed amenities, fully functional kitchen, fast and functional Internet, TVs, books, games and on. Appreciate the feedback, will work with our cleaners on additional focus and expectations and hope that those that read it and other reviews see our place as an affordable, spacious, comfortable and thoughtful home and also understand some of the things about being up north such as use of well water. I believe most people will have different expectations for a vacation and hopefully people can identify what is most important for them as they make their decisions on where to spend their hard earned money. We don’t take that for granted and thoughtfully consider all aspects, work to make things right and also set reasonable expectations. Have a great rest of your summer!

The air conditioner is a year old and we have to figure out the right settings for comfort. I think I will add something in my instructions so guests can make it as comfortable as they need. Thanks so much for the kind words and idea! As our kids are older that little touch was something we weren’t thinking of and actually have two gates in our basement from when our kids were babies so will bring up with us this weekend for future guests to use! Appreciate the feedback!
