We came in early April (no tourists, but not green yet) to check out the Marquette area, including hiking, because we're thinking of relocating up here.
The place was really idyllic and cute, right next to a lake. The owner was fantastic. He had paddleboats, kayaks and other things. We wanted to hike and spend time in Marquette, so we didn't do them, but they looked fun. Also, there was a very charming little grill place down by the lake. Would be perfect for summer.
We made a mistake with our booking (only second time using VRBO, my bad) but the host was extremely gracious and accommodating and we worked it out. Also, he knew all of the things to do locally, and it looked like he had an ATV service where he'd lead you on off-road rides around the area.
The cabin was cute, perfectly clean, had everything necessary for cooking, etc. There are a few cabins there, so looks like it would be great for group visits.
And very quiet! Amazing just to be in a place where all you hear are sounds of the wind through trees, some birds, maybe the little waves on the lake... I found it completely restorative.
highly recommended!
