Beautiful cabin listing! The "Bear's Den" is a one bedroom, rustic, unique, and cozy cabin, located in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. It is the perfect getaway for couples looking to escape city life, and unwind. The inside is rustic, with barn wood accents. The bathroom is tiled with glass shower doors and an overhead rainfall shower head. The Appalachian Trail, waterfalls and the Nantahala River are nearby, as well as gem mining, and Breweries. Come and enjoy the beautiful mountains of NC.

Comfy stay, beautiful location inside and out.

Our stay was very comfortable. The pictures don't do the inside justice. The covered porch ended up being a huge benefit in the rain. We hit up the grocery store and stayed in all weekend. The hot tub was spotless, warm, easy to use. The location had beautiful views on the drive up and around the property. Very quiet and serene. I would stay here again.

Lovely little cabin by the creek.

The place was lovely and spotless. Had everything we needed. Even a stepstool. As someone who is under 5 feet tall i really appreciate when a rental has a step stool. (I actually travel with my own). Beds and shelves have gotten taller comfy bed without a stepstool.

Weekend away at the bears den

My husband and I had a very relaxing stay at the bears den. Everything was clean and very cozy! Loved the hot tub! It wasn’t quite as isolated as it seemed in the pictures but it was still very nice!

Beautiful and comfortable

The kitchen was well stocked. It’s close to amenities but you feel like your remote. I recommend this cabin!

Lovely place, beautiful setting, and wonderful hosts

I have over 3M+ air miles from my business and personal travel all over the world for the last 40+ years. Have experienced the highs/lows of resort, hotel, and residential accommodations (like VRBO) in many wonderful places. But...we found a slice of heaven at the Bear's Den that I am almost afraid to share with others. Gina and Brian are excellent hosts. Their place was immaculate, well appointed, nicely designed for a couple of any age, and the location is breathtaking. Franklin is a short distance away and we visited Highlands within an hour. And if you promise not tell anyone; if you head east on the road that the property sits on, you may experience some of the most fabulous scenery my wife and I have ever seen. Well done, Gina & Brian, well done.

AMAZING!

This cabin was AMAZING! My husband and I loved every detail of it. It has beautiful craftsmanship, well thought-out needs for the traveler, and was in a perfect location for all the outdoor adventures we pursued. The creek provides soothing and relaxing sounds after a long day of outdoor activities. Autumn was just about to fully show-out in this area and we were so glad we got to experience it here. Y’all have a very special place here and we hope to visit again! (P.S. who knew the heater in the bathroom would be such a great touch?! Me!! 😊)

Comfortable, Quiet and Clean

The place was very nice and private. The shower is absolutely amazing, with dual water heads and perfect for a couple to use simultaneously. The hot tub was great too. Although a few of the jets have stopped working, it has so many in it that it didn't matter for two people. Considering how nice the inside of the cabin is, we were perplexed as to why the bed was only a full size instead of a queen or king - there certainly is plenty of space to accomodate a king size bed. If the bed was upgraded to a queen size and the couch was replaced with a fold-out model, it would be absolutely perfect for accomodating a couple with children. Also, I've never stayed someplace where I had to take off my own garbage. Nevertheless, we were very pleased with the accommodations overall and would gladly stay there again.

This cabin was beautiful, very clean, well decorated and the perfect easy location for our trip to Franklin. The hosts were extremely helpful and easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

The perfect getaway

We loved everything about this property and location. The cabin was super cute and cozy. The location was convenient and an easy access to town and exploring. The creek really created an incredible ambiance between the view and just the sound of the babbling water. Regina and Brian were very accommodating and friendly. We are absolutely planning on going back. Next time we will take the whole family and rent the other beautiful cabins as well. This is our new “go to” for this area!

Beautiful cabin , quite , just what we wanted , cabin is very top notched decorated, the shower was extremely nice with the two shower heads , the hot tub was aweslme, the creek was so super nice. The owners are super nice , she even brought me a regular coffee maker when i didnt like thw kuric, i hope we can come back here . Cause i want to try the other cabins .

Get away weekend

Wonderful! Gps took us the long way around over the mountain down "snake pass"...it was so windy, curvy like I've never seen before. Took us to Wayah Ridge because 3444 doesnt come up...so be careful with following gps. Internet was splotchy but we were there for the ambience. Loved it. Thank you and we will come again!

Franklin NC Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this location. The property was very modern and functional. This is a great base location for the Franklin area as it is close to town but you still get the away from it all feel with the property in a nice quiet area. Another plus was the proximity to the Wayah Bald Tower which offers amazing views.

Needed break

Just the right size, kitchen was well equipped first trip with 8month old pup. She had plenty of room to play in the yard and enjoyed a trip to the creek. Bed was very comfortable and the towels smelled wonderful. Hot tub was just what the dr ordered.

Wonderful little charm!

The Bear's Den is even more beautiful and comfy than pictures show. It was peaceful and just what my husband and I needed on a get away trip! There is plenty of nearby hiking, history, great food, and activities. Not to mention just a hop away from Bryson City and the Nantahala River.

Rustic charm, skilled craftsmanship, expansive grounds, privacy and located an easy drive to scenic destinations. The kitchen was thoughtfully supplied for meal preparation. Hot tub was wonderful. We didn’t want to leave!

Rest weekend

My husband have lived in Franklin for twenty years and absolutely love living in the beautiful Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. We own a construction business and have four kids. This is our first VRBO listing and we are very excited to host guests!

This is a beautiful, quaint, one bedroom cabin surrounded by majestic mountains. The cabin has barn wood siding, a front porch with two rockers, a screened in porch with a hot tub, and a table and two chairs for outdoor dining. There is an outdoor firepit and a grill as well. Inside the cabin is one queen bed, a living/den area with loveseat, chair, TV, internet, kitchen, tiled bathroom floor and shower. The cabin is decorated with barn wood furniture built by my husband, including barn wood shutters.

Flat driveway with easy access all year long, close to town, close to Appalachian Trail, hiking on nearby trails, beautiful local waterfalls, kayaking, tubing.
