The accommodations are nestled in a 2-acre oceanfront oasis for getaways and spa retreats. They are in one of 3 buildings, consisting of 3 triplex-style ocean-view ensuites (350-400 sq. ft. each), for individuals, couples, or groups of up to 6. Surrounded by quiet private gardens, forest, and ocean views, each is designed with simple Zen-inspired décor and international artists’ work. The units provide all you need to make yourself comfortable and cook for yourself, on your schedule. They are private, quiet, intimate, yet spacious and inviting, providing all you need for a nurturing stay in nature.

Thermal Therapy (aka Hydrotherapy) in the Nordic Spa tradition is part of the experience! Enjoy an exclusive thermal therapy circuit in your private garden, all are equipped with a Japanese "Ofuro" soaker-hot tub, cold plunge tub, fire pit, and hammock. The ‘hot → cold → relax → repeat’ circuit has numerous positive effects on the mind, body, and spirit.

The medical grade infrared sauna is in the same building as the units for 1-2 person sessions. Alternatively, head to the private beach, where you can spend hours alternating between the Wood-Fired Barrel Sauna, plunging in the ocean or showering, and relaxing by the fire. All while admiring sweeping views across the Lambert Channel to more distant islands, snow-capped mountain ranges, and star-filled night skies.

MASSAGE TREATMENTS include Swedish, deep tissue, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Lomi Lomi, Shiatsu, Physiotherapy, and various other forms of therapeutic massage, customized to your treatment-specific requirements, or simply for wellness and relaxation. To enhance your cellular, digestive, nutritional, and energic rejuvenation, indulge in an in-house session with a local Massage Therapist.

Each element of Manna House supports and encourages health and wellness, relaxation, and meditation. From the Zen design of the gardens and ensuite rooms to the serene atmosphere, nourishing food and spa facilities, with counseling/coaching available. What better place to get away and recharge, or have a personal or couples retreat? (Adventure sports equipment is available to rent for canoeing, kayaking, and trail biking.)

OCEAN SPRAY is our largest ensuite room and is bathed in natural light. It combines an architecturally designed expansive space with a high, fir-beamed cathedral ceiling, bamboo hardwood flooring and a gas fireplace. Art from the host's collection of professional Canadian artists, along with carpets and fabrics from Persia, add warmth and colour.

A glass patio door opens onto the back garden deck where you’ll discover your own private Thermal Spa Therapy experience. You enter Ocean Spray through the Zen Garden and front deck. The east-facing garden makes watching sunrise and moonrise over neighbouring Hornby Island an absolute delight. And who knows – you might just see orcas, grey whales, humpbacks, porpoises or dolphins!

Ocean Spray includes a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and sink, with an electric BBQ and fire pit outdoors. It has its own dedicated toaster oven and hot plate in the common area kitchen, accessed from the unit’s back door. There is a futon sofa-bed for 2 people who want to share a room, but not the bed!

CLIMATE: The Islands on the West Coast of British Columbia have mild weather in all four seasons. We do sometimes get snow, but rain and snow are both your friends at a Nordic Spa! Whether in your private hot tub in your garden or in the oceanfront sauna, it's all part of the experience. Located in an idyllic location on Denman Island, from which you can easily explore the Island or travel to the Comox Valley and Hornby Island or further afield.

SO MUCH TO DO IN ALL SEASONS:
• Kayaking, paddle-boarding, canoeing, scuba diving and swimming (in the crystal-clear ocean and 2 lakes on Denman Island); hiking and biking trails abound both on Denman and nearby Hornby Island
• The spring and fall wildlife migrations for wildlife photographers, the "herring run" in March, and all year round for whale watchers and nature enthusiasts.
• Ski lovers flock to the area in winter for visits to Mount Washington Ski Resort, a one-hour drive from Buckley Bay Ferry Terminal
