Waterfront Cabin w/ Private Dock & Outdoor Bar near Munising/Manistique
Unwind with your friends and family at the beautiful Big Kidd Cabin. The perfect rustic cabin with all the desired amenities. Featuring a brand new fully remodeled kitchen, (3) cozy bedrooms, full bathroom and indoor/outdoor bar.
The Outdoor bar is our favorite spot in the cabin. Use it all hours of the night, and enjoy coffee the next morning while gazing out at the peaceful lake. You are likely to see families of geese, swans, loons and sometimes even otters.
(2) smart TV's, Highspeed WI-FI, JBL Party Speaker, gas grill, Fire Pit, bean bag boards, toys, bounce house and sand beach for the kids! Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need: Airfryer, Keurig, Coffee Pot, toaster and blender. Air conditioner has also been added to keep the cabin a cool comfortable temperature in the hot summer months.
Bathroom has towels, shampoo/ conditioner and blow-dryer. As well as extra linens for beds and sofa bed if needed.
We have a large dock, so you can enjoy endless hours of catching bluegill, large mouth bass, and northern pike.
Available Free to use: (2) adult kayaks, (2) child kayaks, and a metal john boat w/trolling motor located in the boat house. Firewood bundles are available onsite for purchase, honor system cash box or QR code to pay onsite.
Being on Highway 13 gives you endless trails for riding ATVs and bikes. Munising is a 30 minute drive north, and Manistique is 20 minutes East. At The Kidd cabin you are right in the middle of it all.
We also allow camper trailers to be parked on the property for an additional fee, just message ahead of time!
NOTES:
-The one bathroom in the cabin is a "pass thru" bathroom and to access it, you need to walk through a bedroom.
-There are two surveillance cameras: one on the corner of the garage facing the front door entrance and another at back of property facing our pontoon boat for security.

Cozy cabin vibes right on the lake. We loved our stay. The kayaks were a major plus. The updated kitchen had everything we needed. The new AC unit was definitely a nice relief. They now also have firewood for sale if you want a fire. The rooms were comfortable and the kids loved all the toys available. Side note in case you are going with more than one adult group. The main bedroom and the side bedroom share a closet that doesn’t have full walls. This was interesting but not a dealbreaker. The kid in the side room just had to deal with the light (coming from our room) on after her bedtime. This is the 2nd time we stayed and we will definitely be back.

Thanks for the thoughtful review Rebecca! We are designing with our remodel crew to reconfigure to have a separate hallway to the bath and bedroom! Same carpenter who did the kitchen remodel. Stay tuned, hoping to tackle that project this winter so it will be ready for next season. Until then, its maintaining the cozy cabin vibe!

Great up north cabin, has a nice beach but the lake is kinda mucky near the house, but found nice sandy spot at one of the public campsites nearby, great proximity to trails for riding and great property for hanging out and enjoying the outdoors

Great little cabin. My kids loved going out in the kayaks. It was nice to have internet that worked so well.. especially since our cell service was sparse in that region. The little kids also loved all of the toys to play with.The lake was peaceful. Beautiful area.

Great location, wonderful time!
This was our second visit in 2 years and we enjoyed it even more. The updates since our last visit were great. Great location to get to all the sites in Manistique and Munising.

Michigan family vacation
Our family had a wonderful time at this cabin. The backyard area with the bar was the perfect spot to hang out as a family and enjoy the lake. I would recommend this place to families w children of all ages.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute cabin! The cabin had everything needed for a nice fish fry and a good cold drink! We needed a restful break and we got it here. Our sweet "fish dog" Carly Simon enjoyed the lake! Thank you!

Great lakehouse!
My family loved our stay at the Kidd Lakehouse! There was lots of activities for the kids and for adults. Communication was really good with any questions we had. We would definitely book again!

UP base camp
My family loved staying at this cabin while we explored parts of the U.P. The cabin was very clean and very kid friendly. So peaceful and quiet! We would definitely recommend this cabin, especially if you have children.

Very clean and spacious
We used as a home base for a place to sleep. It was clean and plenty of room to relax at night. Quiet area. Easy check-in and communication with owners.

Great stay
We had a wonderful time and the hosts were great. I forgot to retain the passcode info for check in and then had no wifi/connection to look up the info so we had to drive up the road a ways until we had cell service (this was totally my fault) so friendly reminder to remember to get the information so this doesn't happen to you! Thanks for the great visit to the UP!

Thank you for the feedback! and yes, you have wifi as soon as you get into the cabin but need the door code to get in. Absolutely something I would do too. Good idea we should post the wifi password on the front door for instances like this.

Charming Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay at this cute, charming cabin. Great place to relax and unwind.. We enjoyed fishing, having bonfires and listening to all the sounds of nature at night. We will recommend to friends and family and would stay here again. Good for the soul ❤. Thank you for sharing.

Relaxing lake getaway
The place is on a beautiful part of Gooseneck lake, we enjoyed a WFH vacation outside at the bar, watching nature. The pellet grill/smoker and boats usage was a huge plus for us. Just keep in mind that the only bathroom can be accessed only from one of the bedrooms and there’s a pass through between two rooms. It’s definitely a cabin for people who like each other. I would definitely stay here again!

Very nice place!
I went here with my boyfriend and two other couples. There’s 3 bedrooms so it slept the 6 of us perfectly. We loved the bonfire and indoor/outdoor bar area. The boys loved fishing on the lake there. There’s no phone service which is to be expected for that area, but the wifi was good and we had no issues using our phones at the cabin. Pictured rocks is only about 45 minutes away. Perfect little getaway!

We are a family of 4 that have been fortunate enough to call this cabin our second home since 2019. We enjoy the cabin ourself at least 2 weekends a month, so you can rest assure maintenance and updates are taken care of throughout the year. We own many long term rentals in Escanaba, so it is fun to be on the other side hosting a short term vacation rental as well.

The minute you walk into the Kidd Cabin you feel relaxed and ready to have fun. We have everything a kid could want to do onsite, so as a parent your job is to kick back and let them explore. We do have neighbors, both are long term residence of the area and enjoy the liveliness our cabin has brought with the kids around always having fun.

The perfect balance of remodeled and updated amenities, while still maintaining the Rustic cabin in Upper Peninsula experience. Sand beach for kids to play, trails to ride ATV's on from the driveway, fishing off the dock, with a full kitchen to prepare as simple or big of a family meal you desire. The Outdoor Bar is our family hang out spot. Playing music videos on the tv and all staying up way too late enjoying the night. You will feel at comfortable at home the minute you walk in the door.
