Charming 3/2 cottage located in the historic Surfside Community of Vilano. Once this home belonged to the Capo Family who brought visitors from downtown St Augustine across the Intercoastal on a ferry to the beach in the 1920’s. Today, you can enjoy the vintage vibe, with modern conveniences. Only 2 min walk to Surfside Beach! This 3 bedroom 2 bath home is perfect for small families, girls weekends or little romantic get aways. Beautiful fenced back yard, 2 blocks to public tennis courts and pickleball. Walking distance to grocery store and restaurants and across the street from the beach. One small dog will be permitted with a $100 non refundable pet fee.

The home is cozy and very clean, the location was great. It is across from beach and close to everything. Planning a trip in summer to enjoy beach more. The host was very helpful and easy to get a hold of. Strongly recommend.

The home is so very quaint!! 100 yr old cottage litterslly right across the beach. Beds are super comfortable. You will not be sorry to rent this wonderful home. Even my pups loved the back yard!!

We’ve been using VRBO since 1998, including several rentals in the St. Augustine Beach area over the past five years. We’ve also booked directly through agencies, so we have a good sense of both the area and what to expect.We stayed at this house for two weeks and had a great experience. The price is excellent for what you get, and the listing is accurate. Communication with Joey was excellent—he quickly replaced the coffee maker, which was the only issue we had.The House:For an older home, it has been nicely updated, including a Bosch dishwasher. The front area is spacious, and the house was clean. The photos don’t show the updated backyard, which now has a paver stone patio that connects to a walkway crossing the entire yard to a firepit. The house is well-stocked with everything you need for the beach and park: about six chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, a wagon, a pickleball set. The Location:The best feature is the location—right across the street from beach access. You do have to cross A1A, but it wasn’t a big deal for us or our two teens. The beach at Surfside Park is usually uncrowded, with plenty of space. A lifeguard is only present on weekends, so if you have little kids, you may want to check details with the county. The neighborhood is laid-back, and just a block away you’ll find a quiet park while Publix and the town center (with a coffee shop) are less than half a mile away, easily walkable either along the beach or via quiet back roads.

Great beach vacation. Accross the street from the beach. Beds were very comfortable. Living room couch was comfortable. Outside was shaded with a large umbrella and gas grill.

Vilano Beach Cottage

Great house with an excellent location, close enough to get to St Augustine quickly and far enough away to avoid any crowds. We walked across the street to the beach every day and we ate at many great restaurants, shopped in the Historic District, saw the Lightner Museum and more. We would recommend anyone who is looking for a place in the area to stay at the Vilano Beach Cottage.

Wonderful cottage!

The house is wonderful! It has everything you need and more. It is close to the beach and lots of beach stuff is available for use. The backyard is a great place to sit and relax after a day at the beach or walking St Augustine. The host was very responsive and great to work with.

Wonderful family vacation!

We loved everything about our stay from the moment I booked- to the moment we arrived, Joey answered all of questions. The house was extremely thoughtfully stocked and planned for our family to have the most comfortable and fun time. We enjoyed the recommendations of restaurants and things to do. The location of the house was convenient to things we wanted to explore downtown but was just a few steps to the beach everyday too. I loved the little town of Vilano beach and we loved the restaurant Caps on the Water just down the road. I would love to stay here again. It was perfect!

Amazing location

Two minute walk to gorgeous (uncrowded) beach, only 10 min drive from historic st. Augustine. Perfect location. Cottage was very clean, nicely decorated, and stocked with basic supplies. Host very responsive to questions and reccomendations.

Great time.

We loved everything about the Capo cottage. It was right across the street from the beach but in a very quiet neighborhood. Our 3 year old loved having her own queen sized bed and private bathroom. It was the perfect distance from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Adorable cottage, perfect location!

For our beach-loving, surfing, kayak-fishing, foodie family, you can’t get better than Vilano. And to enjoy Vilano, you can’t get better than this cottage! We enjoyed the easy beach access, walking/longboarding to the pier for sunsets, and the convenient location to St. Augustine. This is a great location for families with kids just under driving age as there is a lot to do within walking distance. The layout of the house itself is great for families and the cottage itself has that bit of “Old Florida” character that we love about Vilano.

Perfectly situated cottage

This 99 year old cottage doesn’t realize how old it is. Having undergone a complete renovation, it is lacking nothing. The two full size beds are very comfy. The twins might be better suited to younger guests. Both baths are en suite but worked well for our family. There are plenty of towels and more beach towels, toys and chairs than I have ever seen in a rental. Literally a minute to the sandy beach.Easy access to town and more history than you can take in. Prompt communication with the hosts makes for a worry free stay. Forgot the yard…. it’s perfect for outdoor conversation and dining. Choose this cottage and enjoy1

Surfside

The cottage was adorable. Nicely decorated, clean, conveniently located. Walk to the beach was no problem as we had to cross the street. Big back yard, plenty of seating.

I am a Drama teacher, travel professional, and lover of Florida. I grew up in Kansas City, but have lived in many places, New England, San Diego, Newport Beach, Surfer's Paradise, Australia and even Avignon ,France. I love football (hint my team has a certain #15 as the QB) BBQs and a nice bottle of red wine. We are so excited to offer our guests a relaxing beach experience and get to know why we have fallen in love with this little slice of heaven in Northeast Florida.

Character, history, location... this house is not the newest kid on the block, in fact it might be the oldest but that is why we love it. It has so much original charm, from the beadboard on the walls, to the original hardwood floors. This house is oozing charm, history and character. It's location it absolutely perfect for long days at the beach, evenings exploring St. Augustine or day on the boat. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath but feels very roomy with large open living and dining rooms. We also allow a small dog (with a pet fee) if you are traveling with your furbaby. A fenced in yard will allow privacy to bbq after a long day in the sun.

Located across the street from Surfside park, showers and bathrooms are located at this park which is right on the beach. Great location and close to all St. Augustine attractions. Walking distance to a beautiful neighborhood parks with basketball courts, tennis court, pickleball court, playground and dog park.
