Peaceful Waterfront Home on the Muskegon River

This 1,300 sf waterfront house is nestled into the hillside of the Muskegon River in Stanwood Michigan on a private road. The quiet country location is peaceful and beautiful yet only 10 minutes from downtown Big Rapids. This meticulously maintained home can be used as a summer getaway on the water or a winter retreat close to snowmobile trails. The main level entrance contains a family room with fantastic river views. There is also a full kitchen, dining area, utility room with washer/dryer, full bath and bedroom on this main level. Relax outside on the huge deck and feel like you are right over the river! Go upstairs for an additional bedroom, full bath and an a large 20x24 living area with scenic river views. Bring your fishing pole and cast a line! Feel free to bring your own boat and attach to the 30' seawall; this river opens up into a large all-sports lake right before Roger's Dam. Two kayaks and life jackets are also available for your use.

We had a wonderful stay! The hosts had great communication throughout, and the place was exactly as described — clean, comfortable, and well appointed with everything we needed. The location was convenient to Big Rapids, and check-in and check-out were a breeze. Highly recommend!

Kevin and Gail’s home was a treat! It was so relaxing to sit and enjoy the lovely river view. My husband, mother and two young daughters stayed and had an absolutely wonderful time- everything we could have needed was inside and the hosts were so friendly and clear in communication with us! Staying at this peaceful waterfront home was an absolute dream. The description is spot on—the house is situated right on the Muskegon River, and the views from the back deck are so peaceful. We loved spending our mornings sipping coffee and watching the water, and the sunsets were incredible.The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We especially appreciated the cozy living room and the well-stocked kitchen. The location felt private and serene, yet it was a quick drive to local shops and many parks.If you're looking for a tranquil escape with stunning natural beauty, this is the place. We can't wait to come back

Everything was better than pictured!

We enjoyed this home so much that we stayed home more than we had planned. It was clean, very well stocked and a beautiful location. The grill was wonderful. We enjoyed the deer prints on the beach area each day and the privacy the home provided. Probably one of the best VRBO locations we have been to.

Perfect!!!

This was absolutely the BEST experience I've ever had with a VRBO. We loved the place, felt right at home, had a relaxing visit, and super-easy communication with the host. Loved it so much that I'm planning a return visit with my husband in the fall. River House

I was very impressed with the river house! It was very clean and located in a quiet neighborhood! The views of the river were amazing! We enjoyed fishing and kayaking right from the property! The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils! I would definitely stay again!

Felt like HOME

Our stay at this riverside beauty was peaceful and comfortable; and it felt like home. I can see why all of the reviews are a 10 out of 10. We whole heartedly agree. I especially appreciated the soft linens and new towels. We hosted a Father’s Day lunch for immediate family and the deck was perfect! We will definitely stay again.

The BEST hosts.

Never before have we stayed at a property where the hosts were more accommodating. From the snacks left to the "just leave everything and we will take care of it.There really needs to be more stars to give for hosts like Kevin and Gail.

Perfect Lake House Weekend

This house was exactly what my friends & I were looking for to host a fall kayaking weekend. The host was extremely accommodating, even let us check in early. They were quick to respond to all questions and even left us snacks 😃. The house is perfectly set up, comfortable and located close to town.

Exactly what we needed

This property is a perfect arrangement of everything you could possibly need. You will not find a cleaner house. The property owner was surprisingly responsive which was nice. I have zero complaints or even recommendations on how our stay could be better. The kayaks were great. The location was great. We loved it.

Cutest place with the sweetest hosts!

Could not recommend Gail & Kevin’s place more! They were so wonderful and accommodating and the rental itself is perfect. Impeccably clean, fantastic outdoor areas, and fast WiFi for anyone who needs to work! Gail responded to any questions within minutes. Highly highly recommend for a week-long trip :)

River Retreat

Comfortable, clean, and well-appointed home with awesome 180° views of the Muskegon River. Pleased to have two kayaks and necessary accessories to enjoy paddling around the area. The location is serene. Spent mornings and evenings relaxing on the large deck overlooking the river. Expansive grassy front yard was perfect for bocce and ladderball (and it was shaded from midday on). Highly recommend this home!

We were gifted to have a second chance in life and blessed to have found each other. Kevin was born and raised in Utah, Gail is a Michigan resident. When we realized how well we blended, we also decided to blend our residences! So with a house in Utah and now this beautiful river house in Michigan, we decided it was the perfect home to share with others when we can't be there.

We love the relaxation of the river as well as sharing this with others. Whether it's floating on a boat, kayaking or fishing, we were drawn to the water and the beautiful sunsets this area brings.

When we found this river house and saw the deck for the first time, we were hooked. There is the illusion that your are literally surrounded by the water while relaxing on this large deck. We look forward to sharing this "zen" with you. Our door is open and inviting, we hope to see you soon!
