Private and secluded master suite with keyless entry leads to your King size suite with sliding door access to pool and patio with another to a private deck. Spacious private bathroom with soaking tub and private deck that also leads to pool. With coffee maker, small refrigerator, and microwave, this private suite serves both long and short term guests and is a favorite among our traveling medical staff which serve the many hospitals and medical centers in Kern County.

Simple things- TV is too small. Toilet paper was one ply. And furniture needs upgrading. It was clean with easy check in.

We rented this as a place to stop in and sleep or shower while being in the area, so we only stopped in or slept there a few times but it was fantastic to have a place available for us! The host, though, did come into pur space several times including to unplug the AC (making that evening uncomfortable for cooling down for the first hour). Just be aware the host treats the space as their own, despite you having paid to rent it, which I found to be unnecessarily invasive and uncomfortable.

Not what I was expecting

Based on the reviews, pictures and description, I decided to book this room for a weekend trip to visit family in Bakersfield instead of staying in a hotel. Looked like a great little place for my husband, toddler and I to be able to enjoy the private pool and feel like we had some privacy. Unfortunately, it wasn't like the post at all, and I'm confused by the reviews. We had a cockroach in the bathroom, the lounge chairs, table and chairs outside were not wiped down, and I found it strange that there were Christmas decorations all over the place inside the room. None of that was in the pictures.There were also religious statues around the pool that looking back, I guess you can see in the pic very vaguely if you really look for them. The first morning we were there, a man came out of the guest house adjacent to our sliding door, next to the pool and started to do some ritual with the statues.. It made me extremely uncomfortable, might wanna give people a heads up about that. We also thought it was just a woman traveling nurse staying there.The wall to the bathroom shares a wall with the main house and while I was getting ready, there was a woman yelling and cursing..it went on for a couple hours and when we came back for the evening we heard her yelling on into the middle of the night.Was soo ready to go home. I also, for the record, hate leaving bad reviews..I was really bummed out with this one. Hoping this review helps someone else.

Pool house review

We actually stayed in the poolhouse at the same property. Originally my husband and I had booked for the room but when Barbara saw we were travelling with an infant she offered us the pool house as there was a pack n play in there. It provided us with a little more room and privacy with our infant daughter as we came into town to celebrate Thanksgiving with my husband's family. My only complaint is that there were curtains over the kitchen window to block out the light for the Ring security camera. I'm extremely sensitive to light, so this is always an issue of mine. Other than that our stay went well and we had no problems with checking in or out.

Barb was very accommodating and provided a clean comfortable stay. Would love to stay again as we come to Bakersfield often. The city is really friendly and everywhere I go people are very friendly and helpful! And the service is always excellent. Will hopefully have time next time to check out the pool

Overall I really enjoyed my stay. Saw a few things in the bathroom that was kinda gross. A booger dried to the shower curtain and what looked like a poop stain on one of the white towels. Other than that it was nice.

Second stay with this host

I loved the pool house, it was comfortable and had everything that I needed for a week long stay. I appreciated the snacks and water. This site is located close to several restaurants and casual eating places. The parking was easy and I felt very safe staying alone while visiting family and taking care of business. Barb is very responsive and accommodating. I will definitely stay here next time I’m in town.

Comfy Cozy King Suite

Barb was such a kind host. I accidentally booked my reservation on the wrong week. I reached out to Barb & she kindly moved my reservation to the correct dates. She said it was no problem b/c she had the correct dates available. Barb provides a welcome book that gives her guests all the information they will need to care for the space, operate remotes & how to reach her just in case they need assistance. In addition to, detail parking instructions that was needed for me to have a worry free stay. This Comfy Cozy King Suite in Bakersfield, was just what we needed to visit family in the area. Thank you Barb for a pleasant & safe stay.

The perfect little place!

I really loved this place and everything about it (comfy bed, well-stocked, private, great location, and very clean)! The hostess was also really quick to reply to messages, and even extended my stay for me at the last minute, which I really appreciated. I will definitely return on future trips to Bakersfield.

My name is Barb, I am a full time VRBO hostess, and I love it! I live on the property; but you will probably never see me as I have converted my home to private suites, with their own outdoor entrances, and because I am an avid cyclist enjoying some of the finest road bike and mountain bike trails in North America, right here in Bakersfield!

I am a retired executive assistant and school teacher with 9 grandchildren and travel the country visiting each of them, and learning along the way what really makes a home away from home.

I have been short and long term renting my home, my guest house and two suites since 2016. My home was recently renovated in 2021 to better accommodate travelers and executive stays.

In the King suite you will enjoy the beautiful new sliding doors with adjustable inset blinds with views to the pristine pool and new patio. Summertime is high (and hot) season for hosts with pools. Pool towels and loungers are available as well as a bbq. The setting is ultra private, clean, and quiet.

The suite has three separate entrances and exits to the outdoors. The bedroom includes a luxurious and supportive king bed that gives me nothing but complements. I use soft sheets and high quality pillows and linens. The suite has an abundance of extra blankets and pillows. There is room for a floor mattress for an extra guest if needed and I do have a full size crib and a pac 'n play as well if needed. You will find a mini fridge and microwave setup in the closet along with bottled water and snacks. The Coffee maker and complimentary pods are in set up in the bathroom on the vanity.

The master bath for your suite is also private and opens to its own deck. You will enjoy a large Roman tub and shower with plenty of towels and spa like amenities.

I hope to make your stay as lovely and comfortable as possible. I am always accessible and answer my calls, texts and emails from VRBO patrons immediately.
