Amazing stay!

The house was perfect—clean, spacious, and in a great location. Carlos, was outstanding. He was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful experience!

The house was beautiful and surrounded by lush landscape and wildlife. The beach is steps away complete with beautiful sunsets and soft sand. Macaws fly overhead and rest in the trees each day, coconut trees line the beaches, and the waves were fabulous. The house fits eight people comfortably and the kitchen is spacious.

Private paradise

It's right on the beach. Very nice rooms. Pool is not oversize but very nice for our family. Carlos will leave you alone if you want privacy or he will shop and cook for you if you want him to. So much fun. Second visit for us. Will be back if we can make it work.

Better than expected!

The property was amazing. Very clean. The location is perfect, convenient to stores, restaurants, and the beach is in your back yard. Carlos is the best! He treated us like family from the moment we arrived. We're already planning a return trip! Can't say enough about Carlos and the property!

Absolutely Wonderful

I can't say enough good things about our stay. The home was incredible. It had everything we needed. It was right on the beach. The caretaker, ****** helped us with anything we asked about. He helped shop for us, cook for us and even helped set up excursions. On our last day, he even brought us Pina Coladas to the pool. He made our stay so easy. I would recommend this house to everyone!

Everything was excellent. Very close to beach. Swimming pool wasnt huge but good for a family. Lawn was green. No dust. Carlos took care of us like we were family. Very trustworthy, humble and kind.

On the beach

Nice home very close to ocean. Carlos (Caretaker) was outstanding. He went over and above.If staying there, I would definitely arrange for some type of personal transportation. 2 restaurants nearby -town too far to walk.

Amazing time!

We loved this home!! The home, the private beach and the swim pool were awesome! To have miles of beach basically to ourselves was something, we never thought was possible! Carlos was awesome and was hard to say goodbye to! The whole experience is a memory our family will never forget! We rented a few surf boards and we surfed all day long! Perfect beach for surfing! They are all asking to go back next year to this home! Loved it!!!

Perfect family vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa. Carlos was amazing and always there to help if we had any problem. The property was very beautiful and clean. Every morning and late afternoon, we had macaws flying over the villa. The beach is even better than in the pictures! We were mostly the only one on the beach throughout our week at the villa. We felt like we had a private beach just for us. Carlos provided us with chairs to go sit on the beach and watch sunsets every day. We would happily come back to this villa for a future vacation!

Great location in Costa Rica

This place was amazing. It was perfectly sized for our two families (we had 4 kids 9-13 years old in range) and provided a relaxing getaway. The kids loved the pool and we had direct access to the beach which was basically our own private surf zone. Carlos and the Vacasa team were amazing, checking in on us daily to ensure we had everything we needed. Carlos was amazing and assisted us when one of the kids hurt themselves or was sunburned. We hired a cook daily and that made a huge difference as well. This is just south of Jaco (30 min drive) and within driving distance of most tourist locations. Wonderful stay and location!!

We loved the pool, and beach access. Air conditioning in each room. Kitchen had most utensils for cooking. Carlos, the onsite manager was awesome. He cooked us an amazing “locals” meal that was not the traditional casado! He also picked up some amazing fruit for us. He was so great. Loved having a washer and dryer in the house. Beach is awesome! Great for all ages. Store is close.

The beach is so much better than the pictures

The location to the beach was our favourite thing about this property followed very closely by the pool and the beautiful house. Once the sun went down each day it was so nice to be able to use the pool. The barbeque allowed us to cook suppers outside every evening where we made good use of the gazebo to eat outside. We enjoyed encounters with the local critters. Every morning a pair of macaws would fly over greeting the day. The stingrays would pass closely by when we were trying surfing and the gekos would greet us in the evenings as we enjoyed supper. We would happily return here again.

Wow just Wow

Carlos the manager is super man! He is as able to help us instantly feel at home. He quickly became a family member. He assisted us with excursions made coffee and even showed us his culinary skills the last night we were they. The house is perfectly maintained and the owner quickly authorized a AC unit replacement. The unit went out one evening and was replaced the next day before we returned home. Our family of 5 adults and one teenager had ample room. Thank you Ben for sharing your fantastic Costa Rican dream home.

Amazing ON the beach home

We loved just about everything about Casa de Somer! It was raining when we arrived and Carlos (on site caretaker) met us at the car with an umbrella. He gave us a quick, enthusiastic tour of the home then guided us to dinner (Don Torre two thumbs up). The pool is a little small but totally works for relaxing and even HS/college aged kids horsing around. The kitchen is well stocked. The bedrooms have individual air conditioners that worked great. The main living space also has its own unit. 100 maybe 150 steps to the just about private beach and ocean! Carlos was amazing…we miss him! He gave great dinner recommendations, an amazing boat tour rec and then on our last night he made us such a yummy dinner. He was there when we needed him and left us to ourselves when we didn’t. I might invite him to Christmas. Our only complaint would be the wifi was iffy in some of the bedrooms and even then it’s barely a complaint! We will definitely be back when we find ourselves in Costa Rica again.

5 Days In Paradise

This house, property and property manager were the best ever. Hands down, this is the most wonderful place to stay. The house is luxury top to bottom. Places to sit for everyone, spots to be apart from the group if needed. Patio by pool is gorgeous and you can face the pool to watch the kids or the ocean- your choice. A cluster of giant palm trees is between the property and the ocean offering shade and tropical paradise feel. Lots of shells and sand dollars to be found on the long Beach. Sunset views abound, just take one of the camp chairs and set up for the show under the palms. Saw sunset horseback riders every night. The beach was so peaceful and uncrowded. A truly relaxing stay was received. This place is next level. The host, Carlos and his dog Chappo, were available to meet every need. Carlos is so friendly and helpful. He helped us with recommendations for the best fruit stands, restaurants, and arranged excursions when wanted. Our family misses Carlos already. Our kids loved playing with his friendly dog, Chappo, who entertained them with his adventures in the ocean waves! We will be coming here anytime we stay in Costa Rica. Can’t say enough about this home and the host.

Great Casa and a beautiful location, BUT ....

Casa de Somer is a beautiful home and location. Carlo, the friendly caretaker, instantly made us feel at home. The property would easily earn a “5” rating from us, except for several maintenance issues – some serious that should be fixed immediately.1. Most significant: The hot water heater circuit breaker kept tripping off multiple times each day! Carlo reset it initially. (This seemed to be normal to him. We reset it during the rest of our stay.) Typically, multiple trips by a circuit breaker are an indication of a serious – and potentially dangerous – condition in the circuit. 2. Slipping hazards: a. Water collects on the kitchen floor in front of the refrigerator. b.When raining, the roof leaks above onto the top step (outside the master BR door).3. Nuisance items:· Several lights are out or flicker annoyingly; none were fixed after telling Carlo about them our first day.· Water pressure was weak.· Debris on the beach at Casa de Somer (and next door) requires care when traversing it. The debris is mostly driftwood and palm fronds, but also includes some trash washed up by storm tides. The trash should be disposed, and the driftwood stacked neatly (as some other properties do creatively up the beach).· There are only 4 chaise lounges around the pool; also, there are no folding beach chairs to take to the beach (which could supplement the 4 chaise lounges).

Casa de Somer

The property is stunning. It sits on a double lot, has a private gate and is brightly lit after the sun sets. The yard is very private and secluded. The house is amazing. Nice big kitchen with a formal dining table to accommodate 8 people. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils/cookware to prepare meals. Bring your own water to drink (buy large jugs. They can be refilled at the provided water tank on the road) as well as any spices and food storage (plastic bags/tinfoil). There is a grocery store very close to the property (need to drive there) that has everything you will need. Don't bother stocking up if coming from San Jose. The beach!! So beautiful! This was the widest beach I have ever seen! The sand is soft, but very hot during the day. Be sure to wear sandals on the dry sand, it's cool enough to walk barefoot on the wet sand. I walked the beach every morning for a couple of hours. I would just leave my sandals in front of the property. They were never touched. The beach has minimal people on it. There are many shells and sand dollars to beachcomb for. The water in front of the property was shallow. This was perfect for the kids to play in the waves. The ocean was always warm to swim in. The best part of the experience was the property manager Carlos! He stays in the suite behind the main house. He is so helpful and up for anything. He was amazing to us during our stay, and one of the main the reasons we would go back again.

Casa de Somer + Carlos

We booked the stay expecting the photos but got much much more. The casa sits on a double lot property, fully exclusive and private with great easy access to the beach. The casa is spacious, comfortable and very well maintained. It is a family holiday home they clearly take a lot of pride in and the best maintained home we had during our CR trip. The assistance of Carlos was not expected but he made a huge impact on our experience, he always went so far above and beyond to support our family in every way, making sure we got the most out of our time. This included preparing ceviche and other dishes, cleaning without any request and even sharing a couple drinks and stories with us. He took my mum to the fruit markets and us to the shops. Enough words cannot be said on this place and Carlos’ help! We hope to be back soon!

Great place to stay in Costa Rica

Wonderful property. Spacious, clean, and convenient to local attractions. The house was big enough for two families and the location right on the beach cant be beat. The pool and patio were great for worry free relaxing. Hotel next door was great for dinner or late afternoon cocktails. Highly recommend this spot.

Family Vacation

The house is amazing. Beach, pool and quiet peaceful days with amazing sunsets. Request through concierge service, Emerson as a personal chef. We did two dinners and he was amazing! Excellent chef and perfect personality to feel like a member of the family.

Paradise on earth!

The site of the property is splendid. The beach is magnificent. The pool was very appreciated, as well as the shade of the palm trees. The waves are very big and some currents are dangerous. We spent several days wandering around the place. We really enjoyed the outdoor covered area where we ate almost all our meals. The only small thing to improve would be to remove the bats in the ceiling, which make noise at night and make some droppings on the 2nd floor floor.
