Speedboat Retreat in Kings Beach

This classic mountain cabin is a great retreat for family or friends. The single-level home welcomes guests into a spacious living room complete with a comfy leather sofa and three armchairs around a wood-burning fireplace and Smart TV.

Located in Kings Beach and the near Nevada border, the home is conveniently located to all North Lake Tahoe activities. Close to 3 major ski resorts, the Tahoe National Forest for hiking trails and mountain biking or a short walk to the Casinos or Speedboat Beach, if you don't mind an uphill walk home! There is no shortage of year-round activity available from the comfort of this home.

The living room and kitchen offer an open floor plan with upgraded appliances in the kitchen. In addition to the gorgeous fireplace, you have beautiful furnishings and mountain decor throughout the home. Bluebird days offer abundant sunshine from the south-facing deck. There is enough seating at the dining table to accommodate 8 people.

Parking:
Parking is available for 3 cars total. 4 wheel drive recommended in the winter. All cars must park on the driveway. No street parking per county ordinance.
Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.

Other things to Note:

* This is a non-smoking home.
* Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is
* Use of the BBQ is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Use of outdoor furniture is not guranteed in the winter.

The host was really welcoming and gave clear instructions that made checking in super easy, which was awesome. I also mentioned that my kids love sledding, and they even made a small trail for them to sled on in the backyard.

Perfect stay

Ideal location makes this place perfect for visiting nearby ski resorts. It's close to grocery stores and restaurants and within walking distance of the lake. Our small dog enjoyed the backyard, but we weren't able to let him run off-leash because the back fence door couldn't be locked and there were a few small holes in other parts of the fence. The house is warm, and the heater is not too loud. We loved the large dining table, the upgraded bathrooms, and the inviting fireplace in the living room. It would be really nice to have newer frying pans in the kitchen. Other than that — we truly loved our stay!

Very clean We ate out so really only used a few utensils. We used coffee pot which was missing basket for the filter. Both screen doors were broken To get fresh air we had to block lower part of door so dog couldn’t get out. Yard was very overgrown Couldn’t let dog off leash because I couldn’t see what was in grass and under bushes

Roomy and Easy

Although this place is on the main road and is lacking in curb appeal, it was very clean, large, cozy, and close to everything we needed. The back yard is huge and there were plenty of beds for our group of teens. We loved that the rooms were connected for the kids, and we had our own room and bathroom as parents. The wood burning fireplace is a nice, cozy touch. A hot tub would be ideal, but we understand they are not easy to maintain. Otherwise, a great place for a very fair price.

It was so perfect for our family that included an assortment of ages with one fur baby. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how spotlessly clean and well-maintained everything was. The home had a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect cozy retreat.Every amenity we could possibly need was provided—from a fully stocked kitchen to sledding discs. Plenty of extra blankets were also available. We really liked the heated bathroom floors. The location worked well for us. You are on the main road but we never noticed the noise. My adult children and grandchildren asked if we could stay here again.

Great house!

Property was perfect for us. Close to casino and skiing. nice kitchen so we could prepare meals. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely be staying again at this property.

Great Location

Our group was a big mix of age ranges, spanning 3 generations. The kids loved the books and puzzles provided, which allowed grandma to partake and sip her coffee. The house was clean and had a supply of blankets for some cold nights. We also appreciated the heated bathroom floor. It’s a good location, close to town and a great sledding park. We were a little disappointed in the bed situation which seemed to be different as advertised. The bunk beds were shown with a double as the lower bed but when we got there, the bunk bed was lowered and a twin was used almost as an trundle underneath and a 3rd twin was added to the room. This was tricky for us just due to our sleeping arrangements but made it work. Overall, the place worked for what we needed. Everyone had fun and Our dog loved the fully fenced back yard!

The only issues we had with the house was that we did not know it was on the highway; with kids and dogs that was less than ideal. The living room furniture was also not very comfortable and that is where we spent most of our time as a family. And even with the odd room layout, the bedrooms and bathrooms were great and spacious. In all it was a great stay. Just wish we knew about being on the highway and the furniture needs to be updated.

Prime location & Great Backyard

We thoroughly enjoyed this home; the backyard was massive and fenced in, so my dog could prance around in the snow. Also, there was some snow, and the littles could use their sleds. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials, everything was super clean and well organized. The view from the dining table was beautiful and the last day we were able to enjoy breakfast while watching the snowfall. The location is central to Kings Beach and close to North Star Resort for those who are skiing/snowboarding. The check-in process was a breeze, and all the information we needed was provided beforehand (toiletry needs, wifi, etc.). I would stay here again.

Clean, good location and easy access with no hiccups. Well, maybe you should state it clearly in property details that “we don’t provide shower supplies, no shampoo no lotion no soup bar”, then you will not need to say “I am so sorry” in text messages. We have 4 adults and one kid, staying for 3 nights, and found there are only two mini body wash gels, one for each bathroom. Therefore, for future visitors, we suggest you bring your own shower supplies! And one more thing, for the bunker bed room, you will either go through a main bedroom to enter, or via the outdoor patio, I guess no one would like to choose the outdoor way in winter. That saying, for whom sleep in the “connector” bedroom, which connects bunker bedroom and the rest of the property, you better be the very good friend of the rest that ok with them running in and out:)

Good location, nice place, exactly as described

Speedboat beach is small, but to stay in walking distance of one is incredible. Easy drive to Kings Beach for any grocery or connivence needs, and excellent base for exploring north lake Tahoe.

Comfortable Cabin at Northshore Stateline

This home is right on the main road, so a little noisy, but has a setback and large safe backyard great for children and/or dogs. The bathrooms are updated and clean. Some of the beds had plastic mattress covers. Kitchen was well equipped with cooking utensils, etc. Carpets were stained in many places. I took pictures so the owners wouldn’t think it was us if there was a question. Proximity to Speedboat beach swimming and Stateline Lookout a big plus!.

Funky cabin did just the job

House is on the small side but it's just what we needed for our family of 4. Nothing fancy but had everything we needed and good for the price. The house is on a main road which is great in the winter because it's plowed, but be forewarned if you have bolting kids or dogs. Two of the bedrooms are connected so kids sleeping in the bunk bed room have to pass through the other bedroom to get to the living area, and the third bedroom has a full size bed, not a queen, and two adults cannot comfortably sleep in it. Pics are honest and backyard looks huge for spring/summer months.

Great house if traveling with a dog

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rental company was responsive and friendly. This is a good rental if you are bringing a dog (but you can’t leave him to go out unless he’s in a crate). Huge fenced backyard, carpeted floors so no concerns about nails scratching up hardwood. There are obvious signs of it being pet friendly, stains on carpet, bent mini blinds on windows. Not a place I’d choose if going without my pet, but overall very clean, nice location close to Kings beach and the new East Shore Trail where you can access the beautiful dog friendly Hidden Beach (up from Sand Harbor). Speedboat Beach is close, but high water level eliminated the beach and no pets allowed.House is spacious, large bedrooms, (strange layout- to access master bathroom you must pass through the room with the bunk), very very firm beds, largest is a queen, there is a plastic mattress protector on the full size bottom bunk, (uncomfortable for an adult).Bring your own: bath mat for both bathrooms, hand soap for kitchen, body wash for shower (1 Oz bottle provided), toilet paper (unless you don’t mind single ply sand paper), sheets if you prefer soft ones vs scratchy. Check the Bear Box garbage cans upon arrival, it was already full. If you don’t have room for your own garbage you have to pack it out or get charged a penalty for overflow. I had to take time during our outing to reach property management, they handled it promptly, although this should have been cleared out before our arrival.Set aside your last morning for check out procedure: empty all garbage (twice, unless you leave on Sunday when they ask it be taken out for the garbage collection), strip beds and towels, start load of laundry, start dishwasher, wipe down counters, put all furniture in place, if you have a shedding dog then vacuum too to avoid an extra fee. Overall I would recommend this property if looking for a good central location while traveling with a pet, as long as the above mentioned

Great place!

We stayed here July 4 weekend and it was a great getaway with dog, baby and husband. Ample bedding and towels. Kitchen stocked with what you need to serve meals. Safeway close by to grab other essentials. Loved our walks to speedboat beach and hanging out on the patio.
