Hi Mark, Thank you for your review - fair enough. Point of view re: ski access has really changed over the last few years. Other people have thought ski out was good. More and more, people want on the slope convenience. And, people enjoyed the adventure of skiing back to back yard, but not for everyone. Guests after you thought BBQ great. I am having it tested as I do want it to be great for everyone. Did enjoy conversations and finding on slope availability for you for next year. Kim

Diane, thank you for reviewing Remington Retreat and your experience. Your visit closed out the 2023 ski season for the home. It was a pleasure to meet your (multi-generation) family and I enjoyed our text message exchanges. It WAS a perfect season - - a perfect storm season which brought wonderful snow regularly and yet opened the skies for blue bird sky ski days and timely arrivals and departures. And, best of all, perfect guests. I'm all smiles and grateful that guests had wonderful experiences this season, loved the home, want to come back, and were so positive. Hope you enjoy an awesome summer.

Rod, thank you for your review. All contributions assist travelers in deciding the best accommodation for their groups. Thank you for leaving the home neater than I have seen it or any other home upon a renter departure (during my 16 years working in Snowmass Village). And thank you for your group’s calm and collected approach to heat problem while I arranged for plumber and waited for his arrival when none of us knew what the outcome would be. Do hope to see you back next season or maybe even for spring skiing. Personal note: Other than flight delays and lost luggage, what could be your worse experience at a rental? From a property manager and guest service coordinator’s point of view – loss of heat and hot water would be in the top 3. Report of loss of heat and hot water was made at 9:15 PM. It seems the after-hours plumbers live down valley – 1 to 2 hours away. The plumber got to the home at 11:21 PM (after driving in a snowstorm). Electrical problem with boiler connection found and fixed. Thank you Tristan (with Bishop Plumbing). Sonos? The local IT guy had no problem with Sonos though he agreed with the renters that the firmware could be upgraded. (Checking on the next step for that.) Checking with Rod for instructions on the alternative ski access route. (Thought I had that one covered thoroughly.) Clarification on bedding: The home sleeps 20 in 12 beds: K, K, K, K, Q, Q, Q-sofa sleeper, Q-sofa sleepr, 2 – bunks (4 – T). The maximum number of occupants we accept is 18 and in accord with the Town of Snowmass Village Short-term Rental Permits (to become effective May 2023). For sleeping individuals separately, the bedding sleeps 12 if using both sofa sleepers and all lower and upper bunks.

Jane, Thank you for your review. Travelers do appreciate reading about another’s experience. I’m all smiles your group enjoyed the home - - especially the fireplace, gourmet kitchen, hot tub, and the skiing/snowboarding. When you are planning on a return to Snowmass Village, call me and I will see if some of the other driving/parking and ski access options work better for your group. For Travelers & Inquirers: Houses on the mountain have many benefits as well as limitations when compared to townhomes and condos closer to Base Village and Brush Creek Road. The Village Shuttle only goes up Wood Road as far as Woodrun V and up Faraway Road as far as The Ridge Townhomes. It is .8 miles from Remington Retreat to the end of the line for the Village Shuttle at Woodrun V. The Village Shuttle is a complementary Town of Snowmass Village amenity. Dial-A-Ride is available during the winter (at $1/person) for rides within Snowmass Village; however, there can be a wait to get a ride. Best to rent a car if flying in though if one were to order groceries, liquor, and wine for pre-arrival delivery, one could do without a car. Ski access is not as convenient as that of a slope-side townhome or condo and there is a short uphill portion from Remington Retreat to get to the actual slope. Yes, the driveway can be dicey as one has to slow down to make the turn, then accelerate to go up it. The driving directions suggest going down the lane, turning around in the cul de sac, then heading back, and entering the driveway head on. The plow team gravels the drive frequently and there is a gravel barrel on the side of the drive. My older Blazer has over 200,000 miles of mountain driving and, so, I do go down the lane, turn around, and approach the drive straight on if I arrive before the plow. So, I do understand. Houses are great for large groups of family and friends, but sometimes there are challenges (that may need to be considered). Inquirers are always encouraged to ask questions and many e-mail attachments, diagrams, maps are sent with information to help with choosing a vacation rental and if choosing Remington Retreat, then planning and imagining your stay.

Stacy. Thanks for being the 1st to review Remington Retreat. Of course glad that you enjoyed home, location, your stay, and, most especially, the hot tub. I will always remember your text-video response when I let you know, previous to your arrival, that we got the new jet pumps installed. Knew you would be a great guest. All smiles.
