So much to explore in The Valley of the Kings in Southwest Ohio

Mel, Thank you for your review. I have been planning several updates to the rental property; however, I have not had an opening in the calendar to complete them. Since January of 2024, I have had extended stays of more than ten months at a time, which has limited opportunities to make improvements and has also resulted in fewer guest reviews the past two years. Once my current guests depart on July 18, the planned updates can finally be completed. I was pleased to hear that your stay was enjoyable and that you were able to create meaningful family memories in beautiful southern Ohio. It was a pleasure hosting you all. What a great idea coming down from Green Bay and having your precious grandson, daughter and son-in-law join you from Indiana. We have stocked the rental with things that you would find in your own home and your own kitchen. So glad that you found everything that you needed. Also, glad you had perfect weather that allowed you to hang out under the shade trees and have a campfire at night! We would enjoy seeing you again in the future!

So pleased to host you and your lovely family all the way from Germany! We are glad you enjoyed spreading out in the big open yard, relaxing in the hammock and of course grilling out! Made us realize how blessed we are in the USA to have these rural areas! We know your day trips to Long’s Retreat in Latham and Kings Island in Cincinnati were a big hit with your boys. Nothing more important than Making Memories with Family.

Debby I am glad that you and your family made lots of memories from playing Kings in the Corner under the big shade trees to nightly campfires under the massive starry sky. Brings back my own childhood memories of camping at St. Mary’s Lake every summer. Hope to see you again when you come back to visit family.

Jessica, Enjoyed meeting you and your dad. Glad the GET-a-WAY met all your needs. If You are in the area again visiting family, I sure hope you stay with us. As you said, with the mattresses that you can throw on the floor and the other four beds, you could fit your family and a few more friends as well. Families deserve a Get-A-WAY they can afford that’s for sure! And yes the backyard is a favorite hangout of our guests. I’m excited that the lightning bugs are here. The show that they display in our evergreens are amazing. You and your precious family is welcome back anytime!

I am glad we were able to quickly restore your hot water by resetting the breaker on the heater. I enjoyed hearing about your day trips in the Valley. Sounds like you ladies had a really nice time!

So glad you and your guest had a wonderful experience exploring THE Unforgettable Paint Valley! Sounds like Blitzen had a great vacation too as he was able to accompany you on all your day trips. The skies here are so expansive and we were happy you both got to experience the brilliant sunsets and dazzling display of stars as well as the spectacular light show in the trees by all those lighting bugs! You are welcome back anytime, especially Shadow! Thank you for trusting me to take care of her while you were in and out. She just loved sitting under the big shade trees and playing fetch. It was a nice get away for her too!

Sheryl, Bob and of course Shadow: Thank you for the thoughtful review. We started renovations in August of 2021 and are always looking for ways to improve our guest’s experience. We now have Premiere status! It is rewarding to know our hard work has paid off. We are so excited knowing warm weather is coming and our guests can take advantage of the new outdoor space. We love the outdoor kitchen and dining area. It brings back wonderful memories of family time: cookouts, fish fries, sitting around the campfire and playing crochet and badminton. We hope to see you again and hopefully the weather cooperates and you can take that shopping excursion to Bainbridge. Several of the shops are now featuring local artisans using locally sourced materials making them one of a kind. The Clyde Beatty Circus museum is also a must see for all ages! We feel very blessed that we are so close to this majestic Paint Valley or as locals call it, Valley of the Kings! Take Care! Jim and Mary

Coressa- As soon as we talked, I knew our place was just what you and your family needed. I’m glad your brother and his family live so close to the rental and you could get together at your home away from home. Being just a short drive from Columbus, it sounds like we will be seeing you again next year! Like your mom said, there is so much to see and do, you really need more than just a weekend! Until we meet again, Make Family Memories!

To Jeremy and our new Texas Family: It was our pleasure to have you. We want our rental to be a home base for guests who want to hunt, fish, hike, shop and explore our small valley which encompasses less then three counties. We are pleased that you described it that way. As hosts, we see our job as tailoring amenities to enhance our guests interests. For example, we designed a fish cleaning station which can double for an outside kitchen for those that like the feeling of camping. For deer hunters, they can use it to process their deer. We’ll see how it goes! By this fall all of the renovations, inside and out will be completed! We are so anxious for you to see your new “home base” . It was exciting to hear your reaction to all the updates we had made since your last visit. Your family, that live nearby, sounded like they enjoyed themselves at the Memorial Day Cookout you hosted! We were quite surprised when you told us how impressed they were with the property and wanted to write a review themselves! Connie we are so glad it worked out that you could come from St. Louis to Southwest Ohio and unplug, unwind and refresh with your friends! You have a lovely family! Your boys are just priceless. Knowing that guests have different needs, I am glad we talked prior to your visit. Our previous guests were hunters from Michigan. It was important to us to change some things to make the home family and child friendly and are pleased that it exceeded your expectations. FYI-We started the updates in the back bedroom we talked about. The laminate flooring looks great and the stack washer and dryer should be delivered next week.
