Secluded log cabin w/ hot tub and wood burning fireplace near West Jefferson

A true log cabin with long range views of the Appalachian Mountains. Tucked in the middle of the woods, high above Helton Creek, this cabin is extremely private and secluded from it all.

This two story cabin has three separate bedrooms, fully stocked with bedding, blankets and all you will need for a restful retreat. The cozy living room is centered around a wood burning fireplace and adjoins a fully stocked kitchen with everything needed to cook. Windows from the living room allow for mountain views from both spaces.

Spend time taking in the views from the front porch rocking chairs or soak in the relaxation from a hot tub under the stars.

Your perfect getaway for hiking, fishing, 4 wheeling and more. You will feel a thousand miles away from it all but are only a short distance from Lansing, and Downtown West Jefferson.

Check out shopping and dining in both downtown West Jefferson and Lansing.

Fly fish in the regularly stocked Helton Creek, well-known for its delayed harvest. Hike the famous Appalachian Trail and take your picture the wild ponies at Grayson Highland State Park.

Great weekend get-away

We enjoyed staying at this property for a second time. Very secluded, but still a short drive to West Jefferson (to pick out our Christmas tree) and Lansing areas.

Quick Family Trip

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin! We only had a couple of nights this time, but wished we could have stayed longer. The cabin is very private and our dogs and kids lived the freedom. We enjoyed all the the cabin and property offered and spent hours rocking on the porch enjoying the view and quiet. It’s a great place!

Cabin with great mountain view.

We enjoyed the privacy and mountain view from this well appointed cabin. It is conveniently located close to Lansing, West Jefferson, and the gourmet restaurant at River House Inn. We hiked in the rain to see the ponies at Grayson Highlands State Park. This was our second stay at this cabin and we hope to return again someday.

Peaceful and Relaxing

The cabin was absolutely immaculate and had an amazing view from the porch. The absolute perfect place for morning coffee. The nearby town of West Jefferson is very cute and has a lot of great antique shops to explore and small places for a bite or some coffee. I also took advantage of a sxs rental in town and explored all through the hills and river. Amazing place and I would love to come back!

Beautiful cabin with beautiful views

Me and the wife have been taking yearly trips to the areas surrounding Grayson highlands. We have definitely found the best place to stay in the area. The cabin is beautiful and in a very quiet area. The views from the porch and the hot tub are breathe taking. The cabin has everything you could need including great highspeed internet in a area of little to no cell signal. Definitely will be coming back.

Secluded short vacay - just what we needed!

Perfect Mountain Get Away

I can’t say enough good things about our stay here! Despite a frozen pipe the property owners Jeff and Amy had water ready for us on stand by! We truly enjoyed our stay the kids loved having the loft area to watch movies and play while the adults were able to hang out together in the evening! Grayson highlands is a quick 20 minute drive and well worth the snowy hike to see the ponies! We will definitely be booking again!

Wonderful Getaway

We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary here at the Helton cabin. Secluded, comfortable and cozy. The cabin was very clean with comfortable linens with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We used the wood burner and appreciated the wood supply and the outdoor fire ring! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and the view from the front porch is beautiful! Location is near state parks and the Blue Ridge Parkway and close drive to shops and restaurants. Amy was very responsive to our questions and check in/out couldn't be easier. We will recommend the Helton cabins to our friends and family!

Amazing views & delicious S’more’s

Hubby and I Wanted to get away from it all and the cabin provided for just that. We hit up the Food lion and got grocery’s for the week and didn’t leave the cabin Until it was time to go home. We sat at the fire pit Sun up to sun down. The Mountain View was SO therapeutic. Thanks for sharing your slice of Heaven with us!!

Unbelievable View

My daughter and I stayed for three nights while we hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail. Typically we leave early in the morning to start but it was so beautiful we took our time to just take it all in from the front porch. So wonderful! The location was further than others for what we wanted to do but it was well worth it. Didn't want to leave. House was great

Serenity Abounds

The best view we've ever had! Perfectly isolated cabin yielding undisturbed sounds of nature, yet close enough to civilization if needed. The cabin is quaint and well-designed with everything you need and the host is very responsive and knowledgeable in answering questions. If you are looking for a secluded respite, look no further... the views are a societal elixir.

Amazing Mountain Getaway for the 4th!

Our family loved everything about this property. It is secluded so be prepared to drive 20 minutes+ to get groceries or visit some state parks but the streams and creeks are close by and it was an amazing place to fish and for us all to play in the water. The charcoal grill addition was a great add to the fire pit and made it so easy to cook outside. Thank you so much for hosting us!! Much appreciated.

excellent "off the grid, but not too far off" cabin

Great location, cabin and views. Beautiful 20 min drive from the quite surprisingly fun mountain town of West Jefferson, NC. Good breweries and live music (and even saw the Marshall Tucker band play live!) Cabin in excellent shape, nicely renovated and updated kitchen and baths and as described. Security system did not work, but not sure if needed due to location. Deadbolts made us feel plenty safe. Internet was spotty, but cell coverage worked well enough for communication. Host was very responsive. We would def stay again.
