Welcome to the Hummingbird Suite, conveniently located a mile from the shoppes and restaurants of downtown Highlands and half a mile from the beautiful waterfalls of Glenn Falls.

Guests have private entrance to the suite and exclusive use of the courtyard patio with self check-in.

The space
Welcome to the Hummingbird Suite. We’re conveniently located a little over a mile from the shoppes and restaurants of downtown Highlands and half a mile from the beautiful triple waterfalls of Glenn Falls and half a mile from the Farm at Old Edwards.

After a long day of hiking and exploring, you will love sinking into the new king-size Tuft and Needle mattress with 800 thread count sheets. The rainfall shower head, deluxe bath linens, Gilchrist+ Soames Reserve bath products, and heated floors in both the bathroom and the bedroom complete your stay in Highlands.

Guests will also enjoy the separate and large living room attached to the bedroom. There is a comfortable queen-size convertible bed which is perfect for families with young children or for two couples.

Before you head out on your day’s adventures, make your morning cup of coffee or tea in the kitchenette, which includes a new Keurig coffee machine, tea kettle, and mini-refrigerator. We recommend enjoying your coffee outside on the courtyard patio on one of four comfortable Adirondack chairs around the fire pit! (Firewood replenished daily)

When you return for the evening, cozy up on the couch to watch a movie on the 50 inch flat screen television or read one of the many books on the bookshelf. Netflix, Disney Channel, HBO Max and Prime Video available for your viewing pleasure. You could also build a puzzle or play one of the games we’ve provided for the game table.

At the Hummingbird suite, we’ve thought of everything to make your stay in Highlands memorable. We believe 4118’ is truly the elevation of happiness and we hope you do too!

Our second stay

This was our second stay at the Hummingbird Suite and was just as amazing as the first. So clean, has everything you need, amazing hosts and super close to town! Absolute perfection. Will be back!

This is a beautiful suite! So spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed and so many nice extras and special touches. Julie was a joy to work with; communication was easy. She followed up to see how we were doing, even making nice suggestions for things to do around Highlands. The location is great, just outside of town but close enough to make an easy trip of anything we sought to do. We will definitely return and are looking forward to it!

Private space—quaint property-excellent service!

We loved our stay. Super comfortable—from the bed, to the towels—even special snacks that were unexpected! Owners were so kind—accommodating—and had great communication!

Everything about this Highlands home was excellent. My daughter and I loved our stay. The decor and amenities far exceeded our expectations. Can’t wait to go back!

Short Trip to the Highlands

Great two night stay, the hummingbird suite was very cozy, quiet, and clean. Lots of small touches and details like snacks, water, chocolates, etc made it even better. Close proximity to downtown was also great. Will definitely stay again next time.

Peaceful

Our stay was AMAZING from the time we walked in the door until the time we left (and wish we didn't have to). The owners thought of every little detail and were quick to answer any questions we had during our stay about local places. We can't wait to go back!

The Perfect Getaway

The Hummingbird Suite was the perfect get away and all the attention to detail provided by the host exceeded our expectations. Great location, large spacious rooms and plenty of extras. Host is accessible with timely communication. We look forward to returning again!

Weekend Getaway

The house was great, and just as described in the listing. Notably closer to downtown than the map would suggest (which was a plus!). The hosts clearly went out of their way to make it feel like home which was a very nice touch. Super comfy bed. But the outside fire pit was easily the best part, and really a gigantic plus on the overall experience. Would stay again just for that.

Amazing host

Due to a medical emergency, we were not able to make the stay. The host was very understanding, respectful, and responsive in resolving the issue. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to join the host for a future stay very soon.

Luxury retreat

This place felt like staying in a luxury hotel. Not a full “cabin” or apartment (only a kitchenette), but cozy, private, and pampered by the host. Having snacks and variety of coffee and tea options was an unexpected and welcomed touch. I think the only thing Old Edwards would have on this suite would be the downtown location!

Charming Space!

The guest house was just right for a weekend celebration. It’s the most thoroughly stocked with supplies and needs of any rental we’ve used over many years. It could not have been easier and the host is thoughtful and proactive. We were ten minutes or less to all the major restaurants. Clean, comfortable and beautiful!

Excellent Hospitality

Your guest house was perfect for our yearly anniversary trip to Highlands! We absolutely loved all of the extra special touches including the robes, teas, coffees, snacks, etc. It was also beautifully decorated! We wanted to enjoy a fire on the patio but it was too cold and windy! Maybe next time!

Above and beyond

Such an exceptional stay, possibly my best short term rental experience (and I've stayed in many!). Often, you find that hosts cut corners or try to skimp wherever they think they can get away with it, but Julie is the complete opposite. There are so many thoughtful and luxurious touches all over the place, and it's so tastefully put together in every way. Location was extremely convenient to Highlands main st as well as several hikes. My only complaint if you can call it that is that the photos really don't do this place justice!

Wow, Just Wow!

I really can't put into words how amazing and accommodating Julie is and how private and cozy and clean the property is! We really enjoyed the smore's fire pit on the patio, playing board games and relaxing in the luxurious space. My most favorite part was how clean it was and everything was so comfortable and relaxing. Our daughters adored the murphy bed and the living room with the bed out is actually still so spacious - even more so than the photos suggest. Also, we timed it, it's only 3 minutes to Highlands which was another huge plus. We can't wait to go back again!!!!!

Best hostess

This was a lovely place to stay and highly recommend it. The hostess was the most impressive I’ve seen and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The house is stocked with everything you could imagine from hiking poles to picnic backpack to games to all kinds of refreshments… she even included holiday fun for our kids. The beds were comfortable as well. The place is about 10 min drive from the downtown area. The only minor critique is the floor corners seemed to have some missed vacuuming but overall felt clean. We will definitely be back

Amazing!

As a husband who rarely gets it right when trying to do for my wife, I actually hit it out the park with this VRBO choice. My wife is an event planner who has stayed at more 5 star hotels than I can count and for her to give me the thumbs almost made me cry with joy! This listing delivered on what was promised and the extra little touches the host provided, without me even asking, really helped me get that “Knocked it out the park” rating from my better half. Perfect Highlands Rental

Have stayed at a lot of Vrbo rentals both for work and holiday but have never experienced a place as clean and well thought out as Julia’s. She has thought of every detail to make the stay easy and completely devoid of stress. Clear instructions regarding everything in the unit and great communication regarding the area, restaurant recommendations, etc. Julia and her family are incredibly considerate and kind. We could not have had better hosts. Almost hate to review it so well because we definitely want to return and keep this wonderful stay a secret.

The Hummingbird Cottage and Hosts Are Awesome.

The cottage is off the highway, secluded and very quiet. There is a lovely patio on the far side. It has chairs, a fire-pit (S’mores) or just a soothing fire. The bed is so comfortable and has a dresser and closet. The great room includes a small refrigerator with a freezer, assorted ways to make coffee and tea, and beer/wine/soft drinks to get you started. There was a backpack, two pairs of hiking sticks and other outdoor gear. The hostess and her husband could not have been more hospitable and caring. We plan to go back and if you desire to go to Highlands, NC this is the best place to be. Kudos!
