Premium Cabin retreat with fantastic views of the Great Smoky Mountains

Sleepy Bear Den is a traditional log cabin, comfortably appointed, that is situated on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains in the Sherwood Forest Resort of Pigeon Forge. This newly purchased and refurnished cabin has a 180 degrees of awe inspiring views of the Smokies, including the famous 6,593 ft. Mt. Le Conte. We purchased this cabin for the views and its location. It is 10 minutes from downtown Pigeon Forge, 15 minutes from Gatlinburg, 15 minutes to Dollywood and 12 minutes from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is quiet and relaxing back in the hills and mountains, while you can be back on the busy Parkway in 10 minutes.

Our approach in setting up our cabin was to start fresh and refurnish 90% of the entire cabin. Our goal was to create a peaceful mountain retreat where families or couples could escape the chaos of our modern lives, enjoy the splendid tranquility and restorative beauty of the Smokies, all the while staying connected with the outside world and catching sporting events on TV. Wildlife abounds in our mountain location with black bears, deer, raccoons, gray squirrels and lots of birds found throughout the neighborhood.

The two story cabin has 8 rooms, comfortably sleeps 6 and has a wrap-around deck. There are two King size bedrooms -- one on each level -- and two full bathrooms on each level (upstairs a shower and downstairs a tub/shower combo). The upstairs bedroom has the bathroom en-suite. The dining room and two story great room on the main level overlook the Great Smoky Mountains. The kitchen is fully stocked and has granite countertops with stainless steel appliances. There is a large stone gas fireplace in the great room, with a second fireplace in the upstairs bedroom suite. The full-size washer/dryer are located on the main level. The upstairs loft has window views overlooking the Smokies and contains a EZ-Lounger Queen bed. The traditional log cabin has solid yellow pine flooring, walls, and ceilings throughout.
