Some places are lovely to visit; others make you plan your return before you’ve even left. Casa Blanca is that kind of place for our family. This return visit reminded the four of us why we fell in love with it the first time, while giving us even more reasons to come back.The setting is extraordinary. Spectacular tropical gardens offer complete privacy and tranquility without intrusive noise, yet the villa is only minutes from town. Daily life revolved around the 20-metre infinity lap pool and breathtaking sunsets, which were among the most memorable parts of our stay.We loved seeing the thoughtful updates to the house. The new roller blinds and awning provide welcome shade, keeping the interior refreshingly cool, and the improved access roads made getting to the property noticeably easier.Above all, the hospitality makes Casa Blanca truly stand out. From spot-on local recommendations to seamless coordination, everything felt effortless. The private chef was a culinary highlight, while the arranged surfing lessons and horseback riding were huge hits with the kids. It offered the ideal balance of local adventure and restful seclusion.As parents, watching our children thrive while getting to enjoy a proper holiday ourselves was priceless. Casa Blanca gave all four of us an unforgettable escape filled with adventure, great food, and distraction-free family time. We left rested, grateful, and fully intending to return.

The hosts were very accommodating. The home has spectacular views and is very comfortable with all the amenities. It is a hike to get there, but we made it with no problems. The home is a short drive to dining and groceries, but it also can be a resort in and of itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Gets better every year

This is our tenth or eleventh time staying at Casa Blanca and every year the owners make improvements beyond our expectations. The staff takes care of every need and makes sure we have clean towels, fresh linens and the 2 ice machines make sure you never run out, which is important

Best Anniversary

This location has it all! Breath-taking views, gorgeous landscape, friendly people and helpful hosts. If you’re looking for a place to make you/your group feel secluded from the rest of world…look no further. Private gate, plenty of space for larger groups and a kitchen to easily entertain :) Costa Rica should be on any adventure lovers bucket list and Casa Blanca has to be seen to believed

Wonderful

Our stay in Costa Rica was highlighted by our time at Casa Blanca, an amazing home with an incredible view and great indoor and outdoor living spaces. The host Michael was extremely attentive to all of our needs and the property truly gives you the feeling you are living in a tropical paradise. If Mal Pais is your travel destination, I would highly recommend this beautiful home!

Book this property!

Amazing property in a beautiful setting. The most attentive and friendly owners and caretakers, they certainly went above and beyond in ensuring we had the best holiday, We would not hesitate to book this property again! Recommend renting four wheelers /ATVs rather than 4 wheel drive vehicle unless you can ensure one with higher clearance. Mike, Eduardo y familia, muchas gracias!

Amazing!!

Absolutely amazing property. I love the Santa Teresa/ Mal Pais area, because there is so much to do. This was the first time, however, that I found myself just relaxing at the house. The view from the pool rivals any that I've seen in the world. Michael's attention to the details was incredible, and I can't say enough about the Eduardo/ Lourdes property management team. I can't wait to go back!

Paradise

This was our 9th trip to Casa Blanca and we have already started planning our next trip back! If you are coming to Santa Teresa/Mal Pais this is the best property! The pool, landscaping and views of the ocean are incredible. You have everything that you need at the house. It is fun to explore the area but we always look forward to coming back to Casa Blanca! The owners and caretakers of the house have become family and this has become our home away from home. It is the most special place!

My family and our friends (4 adults and 2 teenagers) had a great two-week stay over March Break at Villa Casa Blanca, which is located in the hills overlooking the ocean between Santa Teresa and Mal País. This was our third trip to Costa Rica, but our first time staying in the Mal País/Santa Teresa area, and we really enjoyed it.The villa is on a steep hill in the middle of the jungle, just over a kilometre from the nearest beach, and feels very private, with no one else in sight. It’s modern, with huge glass windows throughout that make you feel completely immersed in the surroundings. At the villa, you’re surrounded by lots of flora and fauna, with daily sightings of capuchin and howler monkeys exploring the trees around the property, along with macaws and other tropical birds. The 20-metre lap pool and outdoor gym area (including permanent pull-up and dip bars — something every villa should have!) got plenty of use. Other days were spent surfing, running, hiking, horseback riding, and exploring the quieter beaches along the coastline.The owner, Michael, was very responsive, usually replying within minutes on WhatsApp, and the villa staff were always available whenever we needed them for cleaning, maintenance, or the occasional meal on nights when we didn’t feel like heading out. There are also dozens of great restaurants just a short drive away.A great stay all around. We’d be very happy to return to Casa Blanca.

Hospitality, style, and an incredible view!

Our first trip to the Nicoya Peninsula set the bar VERY high! Villa Casa Blanca is stunning and Mike, the owner/manager is an excellent host. The hands-on team and family that welcome guests and take care of the property are friendly, discreet, accommodating and efficient. The house and outdoor kitchen and all deck/lounging areas and huge pool were kept spotlessly clean and comfortable. We spent 3 weeks here and we loved every minute of it. Tropical birds visit the gardens & trees everyday! Sunsets for a lifetime! And Lucy is a wonderful, fun, gentle house dog who we immediately loved! I just hope we can return again and again!

Keeps getting better!!

We have been coming to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa for many years and we would never stay anywhere besides Casa Blanca!! The owners, Michael and Juan Carlos, are continually updating, renovating and improving everything down to the last detail. It gets better every year!! The caretakers, Eduardo, Maria and family are absolutely wonderful and we look forward to seeing Lucy the dog every year! They are all like family to us after staying at Casa Blanca for over 10 years. You will not find a better location, house, pool or view in Mal Pais/Santa Teresa.

Another year in paradise

We have been staying at Casa Blanca for 9 years and we would never stay anywhere else! It is incredibly relaxing and quiet but Santa Teresa and Mal Pais are a very short drive from the house for incredible restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. Everything at Casa Blanca is top-notch and extremely well taken care of. The landscaping, jungle views and ocean views are beyond beautiful! Michael, Juan Carlos, Eduardo, Maria, Marvin and Junior have all become family to us❤️. And Lucy is the best dog and such a joy to have at the house.

Home Away From Home in Paradise

This was our sixth February spent at Casa Blanca and we plan to come back every February for as long as Mike and Juan Carlos will have us! You think it can’t possibly get any better but every year it does! This year we were amazed by all of the new gardens, plants and fruit trees surrounding the house. Mike and Juan Carlos are incredible and gracious hosts and Eduardo and his family take care of the guests as if they were family! We definitely have a home and family in Cost Rica that we can’t wait to get back to every February!

Paradise with a View

Home Away From Home in Paradise

This was our sixth February at Casa Blanca and it was absolutely incredible as always! Michael and Juan Carlos (the owners) are an absolute joy to work with! They are very accommodating and always on top of communication. Eduardo (the house caretaker) and his family are exceptional hosts. We were sad to leave them at the end of our trip and they honestly feel like part of our family. This gorgeous house and the surrounding property have all of the amenities and beauty that you could hope for and more. We cannot wait to return next February. Casa Blanca, Santa Teresa and Malpais have really become our home away from home!

Best House Rental we’ve ever had!

Hands down our favorite house rental we’ve ever stayed & we travel alot. We traveled with our 3 kids (7, 11, 13yrs). The house was absolutely gorgeous, very clean, well decorated, every amenity we needed. The pool was the best- the kids loved. The views will forever stay in my memory with the ocean & sunset views and the jungle all around. So many little areas around the property. So peaceful, you really feel in heaven.Michael and staff were so kind, very fast to respond and helped all the way from the first message to check out. My only suggestion would be to find some solutions to cool down the livingroom & kitchen area as from 11- 3pm it gets very hot (& we are not big AC people) also, the house is well up the hill, way off the main & off road- you must have a good SUV.We hope to come back very soon!

Even better than the pictures!

The home is truly stunning with breathtaking ocean views from the moment you walk in the front door! The floor to ceiling glass doors allow you to enjoy unobstructed ocean and jungle views as you look out over the full length horizon pool (which is perfect for lap swimming)! The yoga chalet and wind chimes create a peaceful environment in which to mediate and practice yoga. You have complete privacy to enjoy the ocean views from the outdoor showers, too, while listening to the sounds of exotic birds and monkeys and watching beautiful butterflies and hummingbirds fly around the tropical flowers in the lush gardens. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on too, as we particularly enjoyed Katana and Koji's for dinner and The Bakery for breakfast. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a truly "top of the world" experience in Santa Teresa/Mal Pais.

Paradise!!

We have stayed at Casa Blanca several times and each year gets better! This year the pool has totally been retiled (beautiful infinity pool) and there is an additional pellet ice maker, along with the large cube icemaker that never goes empty! The caretakers Eduardo and Maria will cater to your every need and I highly recommend having them make dinner or afternoon drinks for you (ask for the passionfruit margarita). Also ask Eduardo to book a massage under the cantilevered cliff side canopy overlooking the ocean. Casa Blanca is incredibly safe (as is Mal Pais), with a security gate, non-obtrusive fencing around the property and our favorite security guard-Lucy the house dog. She will keep the iguanas away from the pool and is gentle and sweet as can be. Words cannot express how great this paradise is!

Home away from home

We have been staying at Casablanca for the last nine years and can't wait to come back. Eduardo and family that care for the house make sure we are comfortable and well fed! When leaving the house for a 5 minute trip to either Mal Pais or Santa Theresa (both incredible), we are always excited to get back and enjoy the long, infinity pool overlooking the ocean for sunset. The rooftop has 360 degree views of the jungle and ocean and is great for stargazing. Other items that some travelers take for granted are plumbing (water is incredible out of the tap- reverse osmosis ), lighting and great air-conditioning. The Sonos sound system is a new addition this year, as the owners are constantly updating amenities. We have traveled all over the world for the last 30 years and this by far our favorite warm weather destination. Thank you for everything!

Our stay at Casa Blanca was magical! This property was the centerpiece of an unforgettable trip; a private slice of heaven. The moment you arrive you step into a secret botanical garden in a private rainforest oasis. This property in the hills offers breathtaking 360-degree views of ocean & rainforest. It is peaceful, secluded & only a short minutes' drive from the center of town. You get the best of both worlds: total privacy & easy access to all amenities, restaurants & beaches. Relaxing in the pool we saw geckos, frogs, toucans, howler monkeys & macaws. Watching butterflies dance around the garden while breathing in Jasmine & Ylang-ylang was mesmerizing. Viewing gorgeous sunsets while the jungle came alive around us is an experience I’ll never forget. The home is impeccable & equipped with everything you need. The open floor plan sets the vibe for ultimate relaxation; the perfect balance of luxury & nature. The rooms are spacious & every room offers stunning views. Waking up to that scenery each day is a privilege. Huge thank you to our hosts, Mike & JC, who were wonderful from start to finish. Communication was prompt & they were helpful with suggestions for activities & dining. They truly care about their guests' experience.Thank you to Maria & Eduardo, who keep the property in immaculate condition. They were there if we needed anything, but masterful at being invisible when we didn't. If you’re looking for a private sanctuary, this is the paradise you’ve dreamt of.

Paradise in Costa Rica

An architecturally stunning villa just minutes from the beach with views to die for. We have rented villas in Santa Teresa and Mal Pais and this if by far the best. Michael/Juan and the amazing team of Lourdes/Eduardo looked after every detail to help us enjoy the most of our trip. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned and the kitchen has everything you would ever need. Not to mention the outdoor BBQ with Green Egg and Gas BBQ. One of the most enjoyable things for us was that the villa is completely private without any neighbors …. only the sounds of the jungle and the waves from the beach. There are many private areas around the property to enjoy - pool lounge, day bed, massage cabin and more. The owners clearly take pride in their jungle garden. We would definitely recommend this modern villa for anyone who really wants to get away and enjoy vistas with amazing sunsets from the infinity pool - a lap pool at that. We enjoyed cooking with Lourdes and leaning new recipes - an amazing cook. We will definitely be coming back.

Tranquility

My family (wife and 4 kids ages 17, 19, 21 and 23) had a wonderful stay at Casa Blanca from late December through the New Year. The experience started within days of confirming our reservation, with the host Mike reaching out and sending a comprehensive package on the house, the local area things to do and restaurant recommendations. The whole team was very helpful with the pre-arrival arrangements and great suggestions for transportation and activities and Mike made himself available for a call to talk through details of the trip. All the recommendations and events that the team provided were perfect and helped make the entire trip a hit for the whole family. Some of the highlights were the great restaurant recommendations, fishing trip, surf lessons and snorkeling. Quad bikes (highly recommended) were a fun way to move around town and explore the area. The house and setting were even more beautiful than depicted in the pictures and provided a relaxed environment with plenty of privacy and a great roof-top deck to watch the sunset and do some star gazing. Equally as important, Eduardo and Maria were great in their caretaker roles in being attentive and responsive, but unobtrusive. They also cooked for us at the house and provided one of the best traditional Costa Rican meals we had the whole trip. We will definitely be back!

Amazing House!!

When we began our search for a place to rent in Costa Rica we were struck by the beautiful pictures and the many five star reviews of Casa Blanca so we decided to choose this house for our family vacation. From the moment we reserved the house Mike was beyond helpful and answered all of our questions. When we arrived we were blown away by the beautiful grounds and the house! It's even better than in the pictures. The gate opens and you feel like you have been transported to paradise! We were also greeted by the best meal ever prepared by Maria which was so nice considering our long travel day. The pool overlooking the ocean is amazing and long enough to do laps. All the bedrooms are so comfortable and our family of 5 (2 adults and three older kids age 23,21,18) had more than enough room. Mike suggested getting an ATV (we had a car too) and that turned out to be so much fun!! The ride to the house is not far from town and an fun ride to the beach. Some days no one even wanted to go to the beach because the house hang was so amazing!! We have rented many times in the area and Casa Blanca is by far the best house we have stayed in. We are already counting the days until we can come back!! Thank you Mike for all your help and suggestions which made our trip seamless, and thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. Also a huge thanks to Maria and Eduardo for taking such good care of us throughout the week!! We loved every minute.
