The house and stay were excellent. The house was clean and the pool was excellent. We enjoyed the location and it was nearby restaurants and we are able to drive without any problems. Coordination with the host throughout the process was excellent. Only drawback is that the air conditioning was only allowed during the evening in the bedrooms but was survivable. Overall, a great stay.

Thank you very much! It was a pleasure to have you here. Airco is allowed 24/7. There are 4 Aircos in the house. Usage of Airco can cause additional costs for power. Using aircos during day and night will cause additional costs for guests for shure. Less use of aircos will avoid or reduce additional costs for guests. The meters will be checked with check in and check out. If guests used more power than included in the rental fee, there will be an additional charging of energy costs after the stay. This pricing allows lower rates for the rental, otherwise should the rates include the maximum usage of all 4 Aircos 24 hours. This pricing is common sense on Curaçao for rental homes.

Villa Vista was a great house to stay in Jan Thiel for family of 5. Lots of space inside and out. The kitchen (there are actually 2)was fully stocked with plenty of plates, glasses, utensils etc so we could cook breakfast every morning. Loved having the supermarket down the block as well as multiple restaurants in walking distance. Communication before and during the stay with Jill, the property manager was excellent. AC was in bedrooms only but they cooled down the rooms quickly and sleeping was comfortable. Jan Thiel beach was nice but we rented a car so we could explore other parts of the island. Westpunt is just over an hour away. We drove to Willemstad a few times, it’s just about 20 minutes.

Wonderful vacation

We truly enjoyed the property, the location and wonderful area in Curacao. Definitely a return destination for our family and friends!

Wonderful place to celebrate

We celebrated my daughter birthday. The Villa was was very well located. It allowed us privacy but a good location to the main attractions. The property manager was very helpful.

The house was well suited for extended family. The pool was amazing especially on the hot days here. The property manager was fantastic anytime we needed something she was there to help. It was comfortable and clean and we all had a fantastic vacation

Awesome location and relaxing atmosphere

We really enjoyed staying here again. Nice spacious setup of the house with beautiful garden to hang out at night. Easy walking distance to Jan Thiel beach and restaurants as well as grocery store. Perfect for a fun, relaxing beach vacation.

Girls trip

We had a wonderful time in Curacao, the Villa was beautiful, short walk to beach, and grocery store. Joe answered all my questions very quickly, Jill our host was amazing, gave us ideas where to go and text back in minutes when we had questions, perfect week.

10 day vacation

We stayed at the property for 10 days. The home is large and great spot close to Jan Theil beach area.(5 min walk) pool area is nice, no heat in pool so its a bit chilly. Overall great location to spend for a week or longer.

Fantastic rental for a girlfriend getaway

This VRBO was excellent! It was just the right fit for a girls getaway trip. The amenities were top notch. Pool was refreshing and relaxing. Loved that each room had a private full bathroom. So close to the beach. Great location that is close to a cute market and restaurants. Would definitely rent this place again.

Our Trip to Curaçao was absolutely amazing. Staying at Villa Vista provided us a perfect location to call home base. We walked to Jan Thiel beach everyday. We were able to purchase flippers for our week of snorkeling (you can rent there as well). The short one block walk was easy. We loved the little Van den Tweel Supermarket, where we got fresh croissants and breads on several mornings. We ate dinner at Zest, Mojito's & Bites, and Zanzibar. We did rent a car for the week, which we highly recommend. With the car we were able to visit so many different beaches on the island as well as do a day in Willemstad. Villa Vista provided a nice set up with the upstairs having an apartment set up just like the first floor. I will say that while the bedrooms do have air conditioning, the main part of the house does not. But, I believe that most houses on the island are set up this way. It did take me a day for my body to acclimate to this. Once you get used to it, and open all the doors and windows allowing the Caribbean breeze to blow through, it's actually quite nice. I would recommend packing some bug spray, though. We had 2 lovely dinners at the house. Both times eating upstairs on the balcony. The privacy that Villa Vista provided helped us create some amazing memories for my family. I have a 16 yr old and a 14 year old. The pool was fabulous. Always cool and refreshing. It was such a pleasure to visit Curaçao, and stay at Villa Vista. We hope to return someday!

The communication leading up to and during with property management was excellent. Location to amenities was ideal and a short walk. The villa was great, clean and well stocked. The only things I could negatively comment on (which weren’t a deal breaker) was the decking around the pool was somewhat “tired” and the ocean view was a little farther than the photo showed. But all in all it was great and I would highly recommend. Thanks to Joe, Jill and Caroline!!!

Peaceful and relaxed vacation!

We loved our stay at Jan Thiel and Villa Vista. The pool was so delightful and there was plenty of privacy in what is becoming a very busy neighborhood! We enjoyed walking to Papagayo Beach and watching the sunset each night on the porch. ‘Iggy’ the Iguana, a resident at VillaVista was so interesting to watch each day as he sunned himself by the pool and the beautiful NewWorldOriole birds flew in for breakfast each morning. Definitly felt like we were in a tropical paradise. Our 5th time to Curaçao and we will be back!

Joe, the owner, was flexible and available for communication. His house manager, Jill, was terrific and helpful. Jan Thiel is a lovely neighborhood with all the convenience of a resort. Beaches, restaurants, casino, supermarket, and more. The villa is convenient to most. The Villa is as pictured. Some minor repairs to the pool decking are in order, but those are easily taken care of and caused no problems. The washing machine is very convenient too. All appliances worked well. I would stay again.

Villa Vista

Stayed there with friends/family . Property was exactly as described and pictured. Staff was extremely helpful and very responsive. They did update the bathrooms floor was just a little slippery when wet. Stores and beach as described. Definitely will make it back there. I was a little afraid from other reviews about animals around the property but that was not the issue at all.

Great House and Location; needs screens

Overall, great house, wonderful lay out, and fantastic location. The only concern is that they charge for added electric to run air conditioners in the bedrooms, but there are not screens on any of the doors or windows (nor fans in the bedrooms), making leaving the house open at night to use the cool winds difficult due to insect bite risk (during the day, was enough breeze could leave the house open).

Great space, private pool

The home had plenty of room for our group of 7. Two kitchen spaces, large dining areas, beautifully landscaped. Overall, it was a perfect layout for large groups to enjoy. Be cautious when using air conditioning units as it is easy to add on expenses. Did have some problems with a few of the ac’s, but the maintenance team was able to fix one early in the stay. I would recommend this rental to family’s or larger groups with various levels of adventure.

Fabulous

Everything about our stay here was fabulous! The house was great, location is fantastic and the management team was very professional and responsive! Only one recommendation would be a device in the pool so any wild animals that might fall in don’t drown. I saved a couple! You do need to buy everything you’ll need for bar soap to laundry soap but the grocery store nearby makes that easy. We will be back for sure and will seek out this property once again!

A Wonderful Month!

We really enjoyed our stay at your home. It suited us perfectly. During the time that we were there, we used all four bedrooms for when our adult children visited and at other times it was just the 3 of us. We ate at home most evenings and the kitchen had everything we wanted. Having a washing machine on site was a real plus. The wifi was robust for those of us who had to stay in touch with home and work which was really great. We would recommend this house to anyone who wants a bit of space both indoor and out. Manon, the property manager was excellent. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!
