Welcome to the grounds of our charming Napoleon III château, in the heart of Hermanville-sur-Mer, Normandy.

We offer for rent the period house adjoining the château, sleeping up to 9 guests.

The best of both worlds: Sword Beach is just 1.2 km away (a 3-minute drive or a 15-minute walk), with the local bakery only 5 minutes away — yet the property enjoys the peace and charm of the countryside, sheltered from the wind, within a private, walled and tree-lined park.

THE PROPERTY

A characterful interior combining period features with modern comfort: four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and beautiful living spaces to gather or retreat.

Ground floor:

- A spacious living and dining area opening onto a fully renovated, fully equipped kitchen, with original stone walls and exposed beams.
- A reading and relaxation nook adjoining the lounge.
- A dedicated space for coats, shoes and boots — perfect after a beach walk or a stroll.
- A shower room with WC.

Upstairs, four bedrooms:

- A first generous bedroom with private bathroom (shower) and high ceilings. An original fireplace and antique paintings give it real soul. Comfortable bed 180 x 190 cm (UK super king / US king).
- A second generous bedroom filled with light, with large windows overlooking the park. Its romantic charm — toile de Jouy wallpaper, Louis XVI armchairs, brass bedstead — makes it a true retreat. Double bed 160 x 190 cm (UK king / US queen) with private shower room.
- A small bedroom with lovely views over the park, with one single bed (90 x 190 cm).
- A large family bedroom with 4 single beds — easily combined into two double beds for couples.
- A bathroom with bathtub and a separate WC complete the upstairs.

THE GROUNDS

- The wooded, walled park, crossed by gravel paths and bordered by century-old trees — including a magnificent copper beech — provides a truly exceptional setting. Children will enjoy the swing.
- The estate hides a few delightful features: a charming garden pavilion, a large conservatory, and a tree-lined drive leading to the stone gate.
- A woodland path circles the entire park — perfect for a walk or a bike ride in peaceful surroundings.

PARKING

Several vehicles can park directly in front of the house, within the fully enclosed and secure grounds. Charging stations for electric and hybrid vehicles are available 400 m away.

BEACH ACCESS

Sword Beach, one of the five D-Day landing beaches, is just 1.2 km from the property — a 3-minute drive, a 4-minute bike ride, or a 15-minute walk.

Several routes are possible, including a wooded path and a trail running alongside the fields for those who enjoy a country stroll.

LOCAL AMENITIES

All everyday amenities — bakery, butcher, grocery shop, doctor's surgery, pharmacy — are within a 5-minute walk. A supermarket is just a few minutes by car.

The house is fully furnished, equipped and decorated with care. Beds are made up on arrival and bath towels are provided. Free Wi-Fi.

Located in the heart of Calvados, 2.5 hours from Paris, the estate is in the charming town of Hermanville-sur-Mer, one of the four seaside resorts of Caen la Mer.

The owners occasionally use the château, which is not included in the rental. The house and the park are entirely at your disposal, in full privacy.

A small stream runs along one side of the grounds — please supervise young children accordingly.
