Our family loved our stay at the beautiful Watergate Villa! The condo had everything we needed for our family. Our host was EXCELLENT! The location was the perfect spot to explore the island of St. Thomas!

Overall great vacation with my family, however, if you have mobility issues just know there's three flight of stairs to get to the condo. It does have a fantastic view! Lots of iguanas....

Great vacation

We had a wonderful time at Watergate Villas. It is on a beautiful bay, and we spacious and comfortable accommodations. It is also right next door to the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, that has a wonderful restaurant and bar, Iggie's, and excursion right out of the bay.

We enjoyed our stay at the villa in St. Thomas. The view was perfect — waking up to beautiful mornings right on the ocean was a highlight of our trip. The home was well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable vacation, especially the beach gear, which made our days at the shore so much easier. The washer and dryer were excellent, and the kitchen had all the essentials for preparing meals, which worked out perfectly for us.That said, the villa could use a few upgrades, and we did notice some dust as well as dishes in the cabinets that hadn’t been fully cleaned. With a little more attention to detail in housekeeping and maintenance, this property could be even better.Overall, it served us well and provided a convenient and comfortable base for our trip.

St. Thomas quick trip

We had 2 couples stay for 3 nights. Enjoyed the pools after a day of beach hopping. Owner is very reaponsive.

Excellent for the price

Beach access not great from the last bldg. Unit was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The price was excellent for a 2 bedroom 2 bath. Owner was very responsive & prompt. Balcony view was awesome.

Great property

We stayed on Bolongo Beach 29 years ago and wanted to come back to the area, so we rented several units for us and our adult kids. This unit was perfect for the 2 of us. I loved the tiled showers and the washer/dryer were a bonus. It would easily fit a family and had beach chairs, coolers and snorkel gear, which was a bonus. We're not a fan of the beach, but preferred the view/location. Plenty of beaches on St Thomas/St John to go check out that are much prettier. We did not snorkel here, but it looks like a great snorkel area.

Very roomy with two nice bedrooms and a big living area. Kitchen is tight but adequate. Balcony view is great. It is away from the main city, so you need a car. There isn’t much of a pool and limited beach. The on site restaurant and the one next door are both good, so you don’t need to drive for dinner. They nicely provided beach stuff (chairs, etc) that you could borrow. Neighboring balconies are noisy, but thankfully don’t go too late.

Watergate Villa

Exactly as pictured/described. Everything you would need in the kitchen. Nice beach chairs and umbrellas to use. Can walk to Mim’s and Iggies restaurants/bars. Great bay views from balcony. The beach is rocky at the bay so there are better beaches to go to but being able to walk to those two places for dinner or drinks was far better than driving at night for us. We rented a car and it was easier to get around than we expected. We had a great stay at this villa and would definitely stay here again. We didn’t need to get in touch with the owner after we arrived - everything was ready and the stay went smoothly! She was very good at responding to questions before our arrival,

Overall good experience

Beautiful spacious condo with a beautiful view! There were also all the beach amenities we need (chairs, toys for the little one). My husband, 8mo and I stayed here for about 5 days while visiting on vacation. Space was clean besides a few small things. I have an 8 month old who will find pretty much anything he’s not suppose to and he found a piece of glass that was on the floor near the couch. Also, the only thing that was really annoying was the sliding door to the balcony. It kept getting jammed and we had to use the one in the bedroom so we could get out to the deck. Beds were comfortable, it stayed cool which was huge because it was so hot outside! Laundry in unit which was nice specially with a little one. Overall, nice property with some minor things. Not super close to anything but that’s more because of the terrain. Takes you 25 min to go 5 miles anywhere on the island.

Girls Trip

The Villa was amazing. This Villa is on the water, just beautiful. It was a great view to wake up to each morning. I can't say enough about the Villa. The kitchen is a little small, but we worked around it. If you plan to cook, bring your seasoning or have Julie, the grocery lady, pick some up. By the way, Julie is amazing . For the time we stay, it's definitely worth every penny. Our Host, Kerri, is also amazing. She helped with all my questions and concerns. I will definitely return. I think the driving is different. I was unaware of the mountain and snake roads we had to drive up and down. It was a move and then an adventure for us. We'd never driven roads like that before and rented a car. Men, that was super scary for us. We made it to a few beautiful, breathtaking beaches will never drive me again. If you're not adventurous, please be aware. Other than the unknown, the city down owes us nothing. We enjoyed the beaches, shopping, eating, excursions, and partying.grocery lady pick

We loved the well-equipped kitchen and the high-top balcony tables at which we could eat breakfast and lunch while looking over the bay, and the very responsive host (who even provided useful written info about restaurants, beaches, activities and stores). Because the unit was on the top (fourth) level of a four-story building, we could see over the palm trees on the lawn below and enjoy the view of the whole bay area. Note: there is no elevator but we didn't mind. The pool was lovely and had enough chairs so that we rarely had trouble accessing chairs to ues between swims. There is even a second pool accessible via a 10 minute walk up the hill behind the unit. This Bolongo Bay area is not in Charlotte Amalie where most of the interesting historic features are located, but we loved the quiet and the less-crowded nature of Bolongo Bay (and Charlotte Amalie is a mere 20 minutes away by car). All in all, this was a lovely place from which to enjoy the warmth and sunshine.

We absolutely lived our stay here. The location is phenomenal and it caters well to the adventurous family; Bolongo Bay has snorkeling, waves, fishing, two oceanfront restaurants/bars with outdoor seating, and is close to many activities via Redhook. A grocery store is close as well. The place itself is comfortable, has a spectacular view and the constant crashing waves are very relaxing.

Run Down Villas

I’m really quite surprised by the 5 star reviews. The Watergate Villas are very run down. If you’re looking for a tropical vacation feel, you should look elsewhere. Try Margaritaville or Sapphire beach resort. The view here is beautiful, however the place itself is not nice. The entrance to the villas is less then desirable. The front door to our villa is old and faded. Upon arrival there were ants everywhere. Inside and outside of the villa. We had to keep all of our food in the cabinets. The villa is nicely furnished with good size rooms, ample closet space, washer/dryer, kitchen is very narrow, the villa was well stocked with beach towels, shower towels, 3 beach chairs, the 4th was broken, a beach umbrella, a very small cooler (only can fit 6 water bottles in it) snorkel sets are in the bin on the balcony, but beware, they are not sanitized! They were so full of sand we had to clean them and sanitize them before using them, some goggles are so stretched out and one of the fins are ripped so we ended up renting a few sets. The villa was not clean. The dresser drawers were dirty inside, I took my paper towels and Lysol and cleaned them before putting my clothes in them. The stove had a layer of dust, the refrigerator handle was sticky, the pullout couch bed had sand all over the plastic top we had to vacuum it before putting sheets on it, and under that couch had dead bugs and crumbs. The master bedroom bath tile ledge is all cracked, the tile floor in the shower was slimy. The first night of showers we had cold water in one bathroom and scorching hot water in the master, it never turned cold. ( Kerri was nice enough to put in a work order and got it fixed the next day but our water had to be turned off for hours) the balcony is very nice with 2 small round tables and chairs, but unfortunately you cannot eat outside for breakfast because the sun is right in front of you and the balcony doesn’t get covered until around 11am. And speaking of the balcony, the sliding door to it is so hard to open, it gets stuck and you have to pull it hard little by little until you can open it just enough to fit your body through. The beach there is so small, and so rocky to get in the water. I never saw anyone hanging out at the beach, or in the water, or by the pool. Luckily we only slept there and spent our days at different beautiful places. I really was expecting a 5 star experience with the pictures and other reviews, but unfortunately, we did not
