Experience the beauty of pristine Higgins Lake. 10,000 acres of crystal clear spring water and sandy shores. Short 5 minute walk to lake and Samoset Park, beach, and dock from our charming cottage. Spectacular views of both sunrise and sunsets from Samoset. Swim or kayak from the shared public dock. We have 2-3 kayaks for guest use. Several nearby boat launches. Ten minutes from two state parks. One hour from Traverse City. 99 miles to Mackinaw Bridge

Loved the cabin had a great time would love to come back. Very clean and spacious. Had everything we needed to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plenty of firewood and charcoal for us to use and the use of the paddle board was just perfect because we only need one. We brought 2 with us so it was perfect.

Very easy to find and very easy check-in. Everything worked well and was easy to find. The storage bin was very helpful and had what we needed to make our beach trip more fun!

The true cabin experience!! Absolutely fantastic, very well maintained, clean, comfortable, and a short walk to the water. 3 Kayaks and a paddle board lots of games and beach toys. Absolutely everything you need for a Higgins Lake cabin trip. There are very few Lakes like Higgins Lake for beauty, it's truly amazing.

**Great location with fun amenities, but a few updates would make it even better!**We had a great stay at this cozy spot near Higgins Lake! The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the water—and we really enjoyed using the fire pit, puzzle table, and all the games that were available. The ice machine is a real game changer! The place was clean and stocked well with towels. The kayaks were lovely. They also had sand toys, wagon, boogie boards for the beach, plenty of wood for the fire, charcoal for the grill, and box fan. Those little extras definitely made our stay more fun and relaxing. That said, there are a few things that would really improve the experience for future guests. The kitchen could use a bit more stocking—things like a real cutting board, extra bowls and plates, Tupperware, and paper towels were missing or limited, which made meal prep a little tricky. Maybe go through the items. The fridge was also a bit too small for us. We also found the beds to be a bit uncomfortable, and it would be great if each bedroom had its own A/C unit to help everyone sleep comfortably, especially during the warmer nights. A few more dining chairs would also be helpful for larger groups, and the large bedroom would really benefit from a bedside lamp for reading or extra light in the evenings. Overall, it’s a great place with lots of potential—and we truly appreciated the lake access and thoughtful entertainment options. With a few small updates, it could be perfect!

Fun Cottage at Higgins Lake!

The Walk-to-the-dock Cottage was perfect! The property was exactly as described, and better than expected! Plenty of thoughtful touches (we especially enjoyed the mini waffle maker)! Ryan is an excellent host! Very responsive and helpful throughout our vacation. He provided recommendations for local restaurants and boat rental businesses. We loved our stay!

A lovely getaway

I have fond memories of summers at Higgins lake and I’m so pleased that it’s still just as wonderful 30 years later. This property was perfect for our family, with tons of thoughtful features throughout. We really appreciated all the lawn games and beach toys for our use. We loved the hammocks and fire pit. The place was clean, cozy and well appointed. We had a blast :)

Reminiscing from being at Higgins Lake decades ago

My wife and I took my mother back to Higgins Lake where she once owned a cabin. Ryan was an excellent host and offered more amenities than we needed. My mother's friend even joined us for the trip to explore the lake. We'd stay there again when we visit that part of the State next.

Amazing!

This property was perfect in location and was everything we needed and besides that very cute. I had a technical issue or two trying to do as requested, but aside from that I am totally pleased and so are my family members who were with me!

Weekend stay

Very well kept cabin with easy to follow instructions. Owner was very helpful with all questions and always accessible. Plenty of amenities to enjoy our stay. We were only there for a weekend to be certified for scuba diving in Higgins Lake, so we didn’t have much free time, but we wish we could have stayed longer to use the kayaks. We were able to roast hotdogs and smores at the firepit with the abundance of firewood and plenty of outdoor chairs available out back.

Welcoming cottage in the woods near water

We loved our stay at this cottage. The owner was helpful and punctual answering any questions we had. The cottage was clean, well furnished with necessities and all the comforts of home and stocked with things to relax with. Games, book, puzzles, bonfire pit, we loved every minute. Short walk or bike ride to Sam o Set park, kids rode their bikes there (with us) and played on playground, swam, caught minnows. We even got to catch a sun set or two. We truly enjoyed our week together as a family here and would book again.

Cozy Cottage

The cottage was clean, walking distance to the Lake, located in a quiet neighborhood. Nice firepit, and comfortable beds.

Family reunion

We stayed at the Holiday cottage for our annual family Higgins lake trip. The location was just a short walk to the public beach and a park for children. There was ample space for parking, we had a nice fire pit with many chairs. The cottage was clean and accommodating. Very helpful with a toddler to have a washing machine in the cottage. We were happy to find a pack and play for our daughter. Many fans were in the place to cool down. The neighbors were very welcoming as well and gave us some extra milk and fruits when they saw our little one. There were beach items ready for use which was so nice. Very happy with our rental and the fact that our pup could come along.
