The town of Quillan is crossed by the Aude River, allowing you to enjoy a variety of whitewater sports or cool off at the Saint Bertrand recreation center—which features supervised swimming—located 2 km from the cottage. It’s a starting point for many hiking, mountain biking, and cycling trails. The year-round resort of Camurac is 30 minutes away, as are the mountain lakes at Belcaire and Puivert. Quillan is also the crossroads between the Aude, Pyrénées-Orientales, and Ariège departments. The sites of the Cathar Country—including Puivert, Lapradelle, Puylaurens, and Montségur—are just a few kilometers away. In Axat, you can explore the fenouillèdes aboard the little red train. The Mediterranean beaches are 1 hour and 30 minutes away. On-site, you’ll enjoy the tranquility of the private, enclosed garden, complete with outdoor furniture.
