Shore Beats Work Bungalow

Staying at this home will surely beat work at any time of year. This bungalow is site L2 and has great access to everything! The home features 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths and sleeps 8. There is a porch for watching all of the activities and it is directly across from the campground section. An outdoor shower is available to use after your day on the sand and there is a gas grill for cooking out in the evenings. There is parking for 2 small cars at the site, overflow is also available. This home is for the non-smoker but it is pet friendly, there is no golf cart with the home but you can rent them from Ocean Lakes. You must be 25 or older to rent and must stay for the duration of the reservation. For rates enter your dates and number in your party and the rates will appear - interested in booking, please send an inquiry! Coming to Ocean Lakes Shore Beats Work any day!

This house was perfect for our family. The location is great being so close to the beach. Our dogs enjoyed it too. It was clean and comfortable for us. We will definitely stay here again!

The house smelled awful when we first entered and we found dog poop on one of the air vents in a bedroom. The house its self needs a good deep cleaning especially the floors and kitchen. When the property management was contacted about the dog poop, they sent someone to pick it up after we flushed it and sprayed air freshener through the house. Upgrade the cleaning company!

All appliances listed were present. Communication from pamphlet to email differed a bit and we did some tidying up of crumbs but everything else was perfect and would 100% stay there again!

The main complaint I have is the floors were filthy. They seemed like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I dropped something on the floor and cleaned it up with a lysol wipe and it was black. There was also a strong mildew/mold scent in the house. We had to open all the windows for 2 days to get the odor out of the house. The home felt pet friendly. The parking was easy. There were no sheets, there were only mattress covers and a comforter. I expected sheets since we paid for a linen service which was NOT optional.

I appreciate your review, however I am sorry I had to hear about your dissatisfaction in this way and over 2 weeks after you departed. If you had concerns you should have shared them with me during your stay and I would have done my best to rectify the issue. I hate you had to stay with for 5 days with no sheets or towels! I will say that the floors are cleaned prior to every guests arrival. Due to the fact that we do have sand (natural colored and black as well) and road grit, floors do become dirty quickly especially when guests do not remove their shoes upon entering the house. Again, I wish you had reached out during your stay but I will review your concerns with cleaning crews. I hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise.

My friend and I enjoyed watching all the nightly activity from the porch of this home! The home itself is so cute and cozy inside! Also very close to the beach and the Rec/pool and Sandy Mart !

Loved it. Just a slight issue with the door to the half bath. Didnt really give much privacy. Great location. Need more options for parking though otherwise wonderful place to stay. Clean and just enough room for everyone who stayed with me.

We had to get another golf cart because the one on the property was not charged. So we charged it all night tried to drive it the next day it would act like it had a short in it or something so we were scared it would leave us stranded. So we had to pay 220 more dollars just to have a golf cart. The place was not as clean as it should be there was a dirty stinking mop left in the kitchen making the whole place smell like a sour mop. I found someone else’s hair all in the clean sheets that we had to put on the beds ourself. The floors were not that clean there was hair on the floors. Also I felt like the pictures show a bigger place than it was hardly no storage for our stuff bc cleaning supplies all on the shelves. And all the cabinets in the bathroom are locked so we couldn’t use those and with having three women staying her it would have been nice to be able to not have to dig through our stuff every time we need something to get ready. I normally do not complain ever but I was very disappointed with this place when it cost me that much for a few nights.Then having to rent another golf cart for even more money.

Happy Halloween @ L2 ''24

This is our 4th year staying at Ocean Lakes and it did not disappoint. We always stayed at a camp site but decided to rent a house this year and I'm so glad we did. Great location, very close to everything. Home away from home. Loved our time here. The only thing I would've changed was the dates, wanted to stay longer. Would definitely stay here again. :)

This property is perfectly located within Ocean Lakes Campground. It is very convenient to the beach, pool and store. The house was very cozy and was perfect size for our family of 4 but would comfortably fit 5. The check in process was great except for the fact that I was sent the incorrect lock box code In 2 different emailed correspondence. Overall we were happy with this property

Cozy little nook!!

This was such a cute place to stay. It was 5 of us in total with 3 being kids. Plenty of space honestly as you spend most of the day at the waterpark or the beach. Very very clean and tidy. A large covered front porch with an outdoor tv. In the perfect spot to access the pool or the beach. Great for people watching too during the evenings lol. I would 100% stay here again. We had such a great time. Check in and out was easy peazy as well. Thank you!!

Kitchen floor had repaired and there was a weak spot in the floor. Barn style doors did not offer a lot of privacy in the bathrooms. Room with bunk beds did not offer much floor space for guest. Was very tight. Be prepared to provide your own toilet tissue and trash bags. There were personal items left in the medicine cabinet, (We assumed were the owners.)

Cute small house in a central location!

This was our fourth annual trip to Ocean Lakes, and once again, the house did not disappoint! It’s cozy yet charming, and it was the perfect fit for the three of us—and our giant dog (permission given from our host) Communication with the host was excellent—quick and responsive. We encountered a minor issue during our stay, but the hosts addressed it immediately and even followed up the next day to make sure everything was resolved.Despite its compact size, the home was well-equipped with all the essential appliances and a surprisingly wide range of kitchen tools. I especially appreciated the abundance of charging ports throughout the bedrooms, even by the bunk bedsThe front porch was a standout feature, complete with rocking chairs, ceiling fans, and a closed in deck. It was the ideal spot for relaxing, people-watching, and hanging out with our dog.The location is right at the edge of the campground, just a short walk to the beach, Sandi Mart, and the pool. While it did get a bit busier during the day and could be slightly noisy at night depending on nearby groups, it was never disruptive—just livelier than some other areas we’ve stayed in.Parking is available in the driveway beside the house and can accommodate two small cars. Our larger truck was a tight squeeze. There’s also room in front of the porch for a golf cart, and we easily stored our bikes out front as well.There’s even a small grill provided at the back of the house, which was a great bonus!

Great property but the checkin and checkout is extremely petty unto the point that it’s almost purposefully designed to keep portions of your deposit wherever it can. Beware and make sure you completely follow the instructions to a tee!

We appreciate your review and your advice to other travelers about the rules that are set forth for rentals. Penalties are in place for those who do not follow very simple, basic instructions. We have rules so that the home is cared for, guests are safe and costs can be kept low. When you damage the property of others, there are consequences. I’m sorry that you failed to read/understand the rules but appreciate you sharing your experience with others. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend as a guest for other properties.

Who are we?
We are the Longs from Greer, South Carolina. 😊 We love Ocean Lakes Campground and have been coming here for years. My dad loved this house and the location. We decided to purchase this bungalow back in 2018. We have made this our second home away from home. My name is Jessica Maki and I reside in Reidsville NC. My parents are Jonathan and Debbie Long and they reside in Greer SC. I also have a sister (Christine) in Burlington, Vermont and brother (Jay) in Arlington, Virginia. We love our fur babies. We have a huge family of Boston Terriers. We have 5 in total. Three girls and 2 boys. THE ARE SO MUCH FUN.
