We had a great stay. Very peaceful at night without any traffic or street lights. Great views of the stars sitting by the fire pit.

Our cabin was amazing. It was the perfect size for a cozy family vacation. My husband and I were in one bedroom, my 14 and 9 year old took the 2nd bedroom, and the 16 year old chose the pull out couch. All the beds including the pull out were super comfortable. I appreciated the cozy, fluffy comforters in the cold. The kitchen was a small cabin kitchen but I was still able to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal with the pans they provided. It was so clean and better than advertised. Even though it was cold my kids still went out to the playground and basketball court. We will be back!

The cabin was clean, kitchen stocked and bed comfy. The location was great very close to all the area attractions. WiFi was a bit spotty but if it hadn’t rained we wouldn’t have been in the cabin long enough to notice. Highly recommend.

The cabin was very nice. I appreciated all the lawn area and the basketball hoop. We arrived at 12AM and they had the lights on for us. Unfortunately we didn't realize this and thought it must not be our cabin so would have been nice to know they were doing this. Cabin was a little smaller than I expected but it was very comfortable and clean. I loved the front porch, the quiet and the train!
The train traveling out of Keystone. We enjoyed seeing it and it was never noisey.

The property was awesome.the 1880 train goes right by the cabins and it is located well to travel out for the morning, return to make a light lunch and then travel back out after lunch.Can't say enough how much we where impressed with the cabin.it was very clean and had all the amenities of home.

Stay here!! Such cute cabims, so clean, peaceful and quiet. Relaxing stay, convenient to attractions and Keystone. Deer, turkey roaming the countryside. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!! We definitely want to stay here again!!

Beyond being perfectly located, the cabnwas perfectly maintained, well stocked - we grilled/prepared two dinners there - really well appointed. We would definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved the cabin! It was so convenient to the landmarks we wanted to go to. It was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed seeing deer out in the morning. I recommend this place to everyone. It was wonderful! The property manager responded to messages very fast.

Its small but cozy and perfect for our family of 4 (my husband and myself, my 19 yr old and our dog). We had a minor hiccup with the door code but they came right over and fixed the issue. The place was clean. The location was awesome and only a mile and a half outside Keystone

We had a great experience at American Pines. It was a bit cramped in the cabin with six people in our group, which we expected,, but there was lots of room outside for the kids to run around and play. The surroundings were beautiful and the location was perfect...so close to all the popular attractions. The cabin had everything we needed...AC, comfortable beds, gas grill, dishes and full size refrigerator. Thank you so much!

Fantastic vacation spot!

Cozy

Super cozy little cabin right next to atv rentals to ride the trails! The 1880 train runs right through the back yard and is fun to watch go by!

Great experience

I stayed with my father in the cabin. We were there to attend my nephew's wedding at Sylvan lake. The cabin was close to Sylvan Lake and many attractions as well. It was our 1st time in SD and was very surprised at the beautiful landscapes. The cabin was fantastic. I didn't see a flaw with anything about the cabin. It was very quiet at night and we saw the occasional animals passing through. I would definitely recommend a stay.

Family getaway

Great quiet location, and an exceptionally clean cabin! Family of 4 with two 13 year olds, and we fit perfect! The cabin and amenities were as described. The host also has UTV rentals right next store, so we rented one, and it was one of the highlights of our stay.

Becki's family is originally from Keystone. She has relatives that helped pioneer the town as well as help carve Mt. Rushmore. Jarod's family is from Wall & Kadoka, South Dakota, the Badlands area. Beside Mt. Rushmore being the National Monument, Keystone is full of living history of the miner era that once made the town thrive. The Black Hills is also full of geological history & a favorite for rock hunters, which we are, & rock climbers, which we aren't:). The small hometown atmosphere of the Black Hills as well as the many diverse sites & attractions makes this the perfect place to make memories for a lifetime, again & again.
