Home on the Isle - Dog Friendly!

Our home is a beautifully cozy 1940s Craftsman located just minutes from all the best that Galveston has to offer. A few blocks drive to both the Strand and Seawall, this home boasts multiple modern upgrades while maintaining much of its historic charm, such as portions of the original cabinetry, hardwood floors, and interior doors with glass door knobs.

When you aren't out enjoying all the sights on the island, kick back and relax in the cozy living room and watch your favorite show on the 58 inch cable TV. The updated eat-in kitchen is beyond bright and spacious and stocked with all the amenities of home, including a dishwasher and garbage disposal. The adjacent formal dining room seats an additional six, perfect for hosting family gatherings! The built-in hallway cabinet contains games and puzzles for family entertainment.

Bedroom 1 features a queen-sized bed with a set of twin bunks, complete with a nightstand, chest of drawers and a 32 inch Smart TV. Please note top bunk weight limit is 150 pounds. Bedroom 2 features a king-sized bed, nightstand, chest of drawers, 36 inch Smart TV and full-sized dresser and mirror (not pictured). Both bedrooms are equipped with a closet. An additional twin bed is located in the sunroom off of the kitchen.

The bathroom yields tons of storage space and is where you will find both bath linens and beach towels, a hair dryer, extra toilet paper, and a first aid kit. Multiple drawers are available for storing your personal items out-of-sight.

The large, private fenced backyard is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor entertaining and/or travelling with their dogs. Tons of room for both kids and pets to run and play. After a day at the beach, relax and enjoy a cold beverage on the huge covered back porch under the patio lights, all while watching the game on the outdoor TV! Dine at the outdoor table when the weather is pleasant. Laundry facilities and supplies are accessible to guests and located in the garage, as are beach items such as boogie boards and extra chairs, outdoor table umbrella, etc. This area is also perfect for storing empty coolers or hanging up sandy beach towels. There is also a new outdoor shower. Pet waste bag dispenser and bags provided at laundry entrance, we do respectfully ask that you clean up after your dog.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are not permitted. Day guests are not permitted without obtaining owner's permission. Renter must provide names and ages of everyone in their party, and primary renter must be one of them. We cannot accept bookings longer than 14 days. Please note there is one outdoor security camera at front entrance for the safety of guests. ***WE ONLY ACCEPT DOGS (UP TO 2) WITH A $75.00 FEE, SEE RULES, ENSURE YOU REGISTER YOUR DOGS ON THE RESERVATION. This was our second stay in this house. Location is perfect for us, central to everything. House is well laid out, very comfortable, and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Hosts are very proactive and responsive. If available we would stay there again without question.

Chris and Kelly were fabulous hosts. The pictures and description of the property accurately show the features of the home. The reservation was quick and seamless. The check-in & check-out information was simple with clear information. It was obvious that an incredible effort was made to ensure guests have all the comforts they would need for a pleasant stay. The home was comfortable, welcoming, refreshing and visually appealing. Everything about the property was filled with thoughtfulness for comfort and ease. The decor and furnishings were lovely and beautiful style. Chris & Kelly clearly have a talent for maintaining a home that is both efficient and well organized; and filled with welcoming warmth and hospitality. It is clear that they care highly for the overall experience their guests will have. Thoughtful notes are placed to give guests tips on the house. The home was decorated lovely for Christmas. There was even a basket of snacks on the counter when we arrived. Kelly & Chris responded quickly to any message I sent with a question or request. Again, having stayed in many vrbo properties, I was really impressed with the thoughtful excellence that was apparent in every detail. Nice yard, comfortable front and back porches. Comfortable beds. Great location. Loved our stay.

Great property. The home was lovely (just like the pictures), very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed and was extremely well organized. The hosts were great at communicating, and they even left some snacks which was a huge hit for my kids. Also, very comfortable beds.

Home on Isle is a great vacation home in Galveston. House is exactly as pictured, spacious, cool, comfortable! Owners are easy to communicate with for bookings. Back patio with TV was relaxing, extra beach gear helpful and laundry was terrific! Huge kitchen well outfitted. Highly recommend this home for your next get away!

We couldn't have asked for a more amazing property. The house was beautifully decorated & completely stocked with anything you could need. The house is conveniently located to the beach, downtown historic district, and everything else on the island. The entire house is a quiet enjoyable retreat from the hustle of the island. The porch & yard is well kept and we enjoyed watching the lizards scurrying about. Looking forward to future visits to the island and staying at this property.

The house is super comfortable. The host has thought of everything, so the home as a result is very well appointed. We especially enjoyed sitting in the back porch deck, and to our delight we discovered that the ecosystem that exists in that back yard is super healthy; we know this because of the number of delightful little lizards that live there. They're just a hoot to watch. We really so enjoyed this home. You will too.

What a wonderful place for our family vacation. Chris and Kelly were excellent hosts. We appreciated the prompt communication and the details they provided to make this an easy stay. The home was very well stocked and labeled for ease of use and well equipped to handle our large family. The space is very comfortable and the beds were a dream. We appreciated the snacks left for us and the beach chairs/toys for us to enjoy as well as the bag of ice for our cooler. Having a separate laundry area was absolutely perfect for having quiet time while others enjoyed their stay. We enjoyed the large back patio both day and night and the very well landscaped yard. All the best attractions are a very close drive and check out was easy and simple. We can not wait to stay again at Home on the Isle!

The house was spotless, and loved the welcome snacks, which included dog treats for my fur baby. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy and clean place to stay.

Perfect home away from home.

Was so neat. They were such generous host. Felt so comfortable. Such a cute home. Loved the sweet spot close to the beach and restaurants. Was a perfect 6 min to target and Walmart. Beach down the road. Parking was great! Sweet and peaceful. Would love to stay again. Host was very quick to communicate with. And everything was simple. Made our family trip so fun and memorable

So perfect

Everything was very clean the bed was very comfy. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen because we made breakfast some mornings. But I was most impressed with the way things were labeled and easy to find. Lastly you guys did a beautiful job renovating your house.

Triathlon weekend

The house was fantastic, immaculate, well decorated and peaceful neighborhood. Within a couple of miles of anything we wanted to get to. The hosts were amazing answering any questions posted on VRBO within minutes of asking and were very accommodating of changes related to our stay before we got there. We rented the place because it was dog friendly and at last minute we could not bring our dog and they immediately said the pet fee would be refunded even though it was last minute. When I got to the house they had healthy snacks on the counter, dog treats in a plastic bag in the dog bowl and water bottles and ice already in the refrigerator, I would absolutely go back to this house in the future.

Location and comfort

Absolutely perfect in every way! Loved everything about this home! Had everything u need in kitchen to cook a family meal and bath had plenty of towels and bath product! Looking forward to staying here again!

I am a native Houstonian and started coming to Galveston as a kid, then as a teenager. There is always something to do here, even if it's just walking the dog on the beach at sunset. My husband and I have a daughter, a tweenager, who loves going to Pleasure Pier and Moody Gardens and doing fun things like Magic Carpet Golf, the 4-D theater, ghost tours, and experiencing the multitude of events that go on here on the island. We also have a very special Bernese Mountain Dog named Leia who lives for romping on the beach and catching beads during Mardi Gras parades. One thing we truly love about Galveston is the fascinating albeit tragic history of the town, and it's resiliency; the stories are both chilling and inspiring. There are also so many fantastic restaurants to enjoy, in particular for seafood lovers which we are! After multiple stays at other VRBO properties, all of which were admittedly great experiences, we were fortunate to have the means to purchase our own place in Galveston. Even though our real "home" is relatively close-by, coming here always feels like a real island vacation escape. Ultimately when we retire we hope to be full-time islanders. We are beyond pleased to share our home with you and hope you love it as much as we do.

We looked at quite a few homes, but none we felt were remotely as nice as this one. We loved that it was updated yet many original features remain intact, like one bank of kitchen cabinetry and those quirky glass door knobs. The ceilings in some rooms are truly eye-catching - the dining room, kitchen, and rear sunroom all have unique and beautiful ceilings. The street itself is quite pretty being lined with big old trees. Having a big fenced backyard like ours, along with a big covered back porch, isn't exactly common here, and we spend a lot of time outside when the weather is warm. While we aren't located "on the beach" we can be there in five minutes, or anywhere else on the island for that matter, and we have not regretted choosing this location one bit!
