Escape to the Texas Hill Country at Wunderschön Vista Haus — a beautifully decorated hilltop retreat where deer roam freely and your pets are not only allowed, they are genuinely welcome! We've thought of everything for your family; a fully fenced backyard, a gated main deck for the safety of your kids and dogs, a gamers cottage with PS4 and wall arcade for rainy days or when you need extra space. Pet essentials and deer food are provided. Boat ramp & lake acces is just a short drive downhill.

We provide a guest welcome guide with check-in and check-out instructions, emergency numbers and recommendations for places to visit, but please feel free to contact us if you have questions or need anything at all.

A quiet neighborhood with beautiful views of Canyon Lake, hiking trails, deer crossing and access to the lake is 1 minute's drive away. There are many beautiful tree lined streets to walk around and gorgeous views of the lake can be found all throughout our friendly neighborhood. If you're up for a challenge, there are lots of hills to help you get your workout in!

Pet fee is $25/pet/night. 2 pet maximum. Please notify us in advance of any pets you'll be bringing as approval is required.
Game room access is $50/night. Advanced notice is appreciated, but not required.

Our house sits on top of a quiet hill with views of both Canyon Lake and the Hill Country. The home features multiple outdoor living spaces — balconies front and back, a spacious main deck, a backyard oasis with fire pit and hammock, and a front porch with a swing perfect for enjoying morning coffee or our beautiful sunsets. The main deck is also perfect for stargazing on a clear night. We provide blankets for you to bring outside whenever it's cool out.

Inside, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to make a homecooked meal and a coffee station, washer and dryer, comfortable beds with quality linens, 2 large smart TVs, dedicated work space and fast WiFi. The game cottage is a fun bonus for families and groups.

Deer families come visit every morning and evening — we provide feed so you can greet them up close. It's the kind of experience guests say they'll never forget.

You can enjoy beautiful lake views just by walking around our neighborhood, but you'll need a vehicle to get around Canyon Lake.
Boat Ramp #1 - 0.3 miles (5 minute walk downhill); swimming and non-motorized water vehicles permitted when Boat Ramp is closed.
Tubing the Guadalupe Horseshoe - 4 miles

There is an open lot next to the house that attract lots of wildlife including birds, deer, foxes, etc. They are very docile and accustomed to friendly visitors. However, they are wild animals so please use caution. The lot is not part of our property, so please be respectful to our neighbors. If you are traveling without little ones or dogs feel free to open the gate to let the deer in and out of our yard.
