I grew up visiting my grandparents in Eastman so I have a soft spot for this location. The condo is located amongst other units on the west side of the lake. No water view but you're a quick walk down the road from the lake and level, flat walking trails. Other trails around Eastman require a visitor's pass to be displayed on your windshield when parking at the trailhead. The Visitors Center gave us our pass so we could walk the Heath trails and Johns Glen trails, both of which were very nice. The condo has a lot of space; the stairs to the lower, downstairs area are steep, for whoever is doing laundry or sleeping downstairs. The kitchen size took some coordination with my husband and I not to get under each others feet but we had all the tools we needed and we appreciated the electric tea kettle!
The living room was super comfortable and the unit has these great quilted blinds you can lower at night for privacy which probably keep the place cozy in the winter and keep the AC in in the summer. The TV had Roku with a great selection of streaming services including Netflix and Disney+ so we didn't need to sign in with our own accounts. The wifi in the unit was excellent throughout the house; we'd be on a laptop, a Kindle, and have the tv going with no problems.
We slept in the upstairs bedroom, the bed was very comfortable and the bedding was really nice.
The surrounding units were quiet and parking wasn't an issue.
Check-in information was provided a couple days before arrival and getting into the unit was super easy. The condo is located closer to a back entrance into Eastman, which is faster than coming in the main entrance and looping all through the front roads. There is a gas station and small market (Rum Brook) about 2 miles from the condo, with another Irving gas station down the road just off 89. As we were driving back to Virginia at the end of our stay, we loved the Dunkin Donuts open at 5am right next to that second Irving.
This location is a convenient jumping off point for great local spots. We went to the Philbrick-Cricenti bog trail in New London, Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site in Cornish, and Poverty Lane Orchards in Lebanon, all within 30-45 minutes of the condo. We also went up to Quechee Gorge and General Store, King Arthur Flour, and The Vermont Country Store in Vermont. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Lyn!
