Whether you're visiting family, working in the area, relocating, waiting on a new home, or staying during an insurance claim, you'll have the space and conveniences to truly settle in.

Located just outside downtown Wendell and Wendell Falls, you'll enjoy a peaceful country setting while still being only minutes from shopping, restaurants, Knightdale, Raleigh, and Zebulon.

About the Property

Beachy Getaway is one side of Hidden Pond Lodge, a ranch-style duplex on more than two peaceful acres overlooking a small pond. The pond provides a beautiful view but is not accessible.

The home has been continuously improved over the years with updated furniture, newer mattresses, expanded kitchen supplies, and other upgrades based on guest feedback.

Our decorating style is intentionally relaxed and rustic, inspired by the North Carolina coast. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, budget-friendly place that feels like home, you'll fit right in. If you're expecting a luxury resort or brand-new designer home, this probably isn't the best match.

The Road:
The final quarter mile to the property is a private dirt and gravel road. It's easily traveled by most cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. Guests with very low sports cars or lowered vehicles may prefer to use extra caution.

Had a great stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly, responsive, and made check in easy. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

great for a weekend trip!

small but perfect for a few friends to relax for the weekend! close to all local restaurants and stores. had plenty of coffee supplies and spices to help lessen what you need to bring to cook. had a great stay, no complaints!

Nice and quiet little cottage

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this cozy cottage. It was well equipped with items in the kitchen and perfect for our family of five. We saw deers in the back woods several times. The cottage was nicely located close to shops and other locations. Overall, we enjoyed our time here. Thank you!!

Clean and comfortable

This house was very clean and the perfect place for our trip to visit our grandkids. It was 15 minutes from Clayton, NC. The house was off the beaten path where we could enjoy nature and the neighbors we did meet were very friendly.

Would not recommend

We rented this place for 5 weeks while our home was being built. We ended up leaving after 3 and a half weeks and never once asked for a refund . We were still not given back our security deposit because of dog hair even though we paid extra for our two dogs. They also said we had restricted breeds although that was never mentioned in the advertisement. The thermostat stayed locked the entire month and they wouldn’t give us the code. It would get up to 80 during the day and as low as 60 at night . They expected us to text them every time we needed the temperature changed. It’s also a duplex and you can hear the neighbors every move . This listing is very falsely advertised!

These guests should be completely embarrassed by the way they left our property. We were so lucky to have a day in between bookings, because it was a 2-day cleaning job--perhaps record breaking for us, since 2017. The thermostat issue was fixed one day into their stay and hasn't been a problem for anyone else. Guests have complete control of the temperature in the home. We really hate taking any portion of the security deposit, and rarely ever do, but the condition our place was left in is the reason we require a deposit. You can see by all the other reviews that we return security deposits almost immediately after checkout for almost every guest at every property.

it was just ok

We were off to a decent start. The roads leading to the property were extremely bumpy but we understand that isn’t the owners fault. my friends and I had a party to attend the following day after we first checked in, and we were in charge of making the desserts for the dessert table for that party. we brought the supplies we needed to cook and make the items because nowhere in the description does it say you are not allowed to cook. As we go over to the sink so that we can start washing off the strawberries that we were getting ready to dip in chocolate we see that the water is very murky and cloudy. We thought that that was just a temporary thing so we tried to run the water for like three minutes and the water was still very opaque. The owner never once warned us about the quality of the water, nor did they offer us any type of compensation or solution for the bad water quality. Moving forward. We ran out of toilet paper by the end of the first night and we searched for so long for replacement toilet paper and we did not see any at all in the home or paper towels. We ended up having to go out and buy our own replacements. We have two more issues that I could write about in this review but unfortunately I’ve run out of space. Honestly, I wouldn’t have felt the need to give a bad review if the owners were kinder, but they were very rude. Every time we spoke to them on the phone. They called 30 minutes before our checkout time speaking very rudely and saying we need to hurry u

We're disappointed this review leaves out several important facts. During your stay, your group conducted a large-scale food preparation operation that left the home requiring extensive additional cleaning. You also DEMANDED to remain an extra day at the last minute and did not respond until around noon on your scheduled checkout day. Fortunately, we were able to accommodate the extension, yet checkout was still late the following day, delaying preparations for our next guests. As for the well water, the temporary cloudiness was simply harmless air bubbles, a common characteristic of well systems that clears within seconds. We wish you had asked us during your stay so we could have explained it. We stand behind Beachy Getaway and our many positive reviews from guests who have respected both the home and our policies.

Our stay was unfortunately disappointing due to several significant issues. From the time we arrived, the water was cloudy with visible particles and did not appear suitable for drinking. We spent the first two days running the faucets, dishwasher, and washing machine in an effort to clear it, but the condition never improved. After a storm, we contacted the owner and only then learned the home is supplied by a private well, which had not been disclosed before booking.When we raised concerns, we were left with the impression this was an unexpected issue. However, after our stay, we found previous guest reviews describing similar water concerns. The owner suggested letting the water sit for a minute so air bubbles could dissipate, but visible particles remained. We documented the condition with photos and videos.During the power outage, the home lost electricity, running water, and functioning toilets, leaving us unable to shower, flush toilets, or provide running water for our two young children and pet. There was also a noticeable musty odor despite at least 12 plug-in air fresheners. Following the storm, the owner entered the property after providing only about one minute’s notice and without our consent. When we questioned the entry, we were told NC law allowed the owner to enter whenever they felt it was necessary. Although the owner communicated with us, the unresolved water concerns, odor, loss of utilities, and unexpected entry significantly impacted our stay.

Nice Quiet Neighborhood

Nice evening stop halfway through a long trip. Always great to have the comforts of home and be able to be together when with a group. Comfortable beds made for a good nights sleep. The neighborhood was nice and quiet as well.

Smooth and Easy

Setting everything up was smooth and easy. Excellent communication with the owner/manager and he was helpful when I had a few questions. The house was clean, cozy and quiet. Easy parking and close to various amenities. I will be back when I travel back to the area later in the year. A++

Clean and thoughtful!

The place was very clean and tidy! And they provide all you could need (toiletries) and more! The towel sets with the makeup-specific towel was a nice touch :)

Great overnight stay

We needed a place to stay for one night while in town for my daughters graduation. This place was perfect! The drive into Raleigh was about 25 minutes or so. The community was quiet and peaceful. Brandon was very helpful. Highly recommend.
