Stay in Hilo Lagoon Centre Unit 701 for a cosmopolitan vibe in the heart of Hilo, Hawaii. Walk to our quaint downtown restaurants, shops, and ocean parks! With outstanding views of mountains and the ocean from the condo, you'll never forget you're in one of the best towns in Hawaii. Enjoy any of the three balconies in our condo with a bird's eye view of town. The condo has two bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom. The central kitchen and living room separates the bedrooms for privacy. Four barstools offer easy seating and our fully stocked kitchen is convenient for cooking. The main bedroom boasts a California King bed, dresser, walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom has two XL Twin beds, dresser, closet and ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower. The living room is very comfortable with a couch and two arm chairs for enjoying the entertainment of streaming TV and WiFi service.

Air Conditioning is central through three handlers to control temperature in three zones (main area, main bedroom, second bedroom).

The condo building has an outdoor swimming pool that you are invited to use during your stay. Guests agree to follow Hilo Lagoon Centre Pool Rules, Mahalo!

There is a common laundry room on the floor for your use. Please note the laundry machines are coin operated and require quarters.

ONE parking space is included for the duration of your stay with us.

The condo was in excellent condition and very clean. The building is older but mostly in good condition. The building and parking areas could use better lighting. There was a wild pig in the parking lot. While wild pigs can be a threat we were told this particular animal wasn't. The surrounding area was a strange mix of abandoned buildings and nice restaurants. In all, the location was a disappointment but the rental itself was excellent.

This was the second time we have stayed in this unit and would definitely love to make it a third time! For three adults, the number of beds, bedrooms and bathrooms were great! The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and we appreciated having a cooler to use on outings. This condo is situated nicely between all there is to do on the east and west sides f this portion of the island.

This was my third time in this building with this management company. Checking in and out is easy. While the building is in need of some love the units are updated, clean, and have everything you could need. The location is great! It's a short walk to the ocean, the outdoor market, and historic downtown Hilo.

We were in town visiting a friend of my daughter’s. The condo was very well taken care of and clean. The kitchen area although nice was quite small for two people to be in there at the same time. The area surrounding the condo is more of a business setting but it allowed us the convenience of being close to her friend. We never did get to the pool area but it looked like black top surrounding the actual pool. Not sure how that would feel on one’s feet in the summer time. Overall we had a very nice stay!

The unit was very clean, comfortable and the views were beautiful! The kitchen is small but had all essential items. The restaurant downstairs was awesome! The park behind the unit is beautiful! Love the pond. It’s very close to downtown but not really a comfortable walking distance. Directions for check in were great.

A good week in Hilo Lagoons Centre.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay. We wished there were more kitchen tools. We are fans of the local Fresh Market and availability of fresh fish. Mixing bowls would be a good addition to the unit. There is a small piece of floor molding in the master bedroom (corner of bedroom and closet wall) that looks like it has been knocked about over the years. It fell off several times while we were there exposing a sharp nail. Just needs some minor attention before someone gets cut. Other than that, we wish there were local TV (island) channel(s)....we'd like to feel apart of the local scene. I'm sure we will be back to Hilo Lagoons Centre.

Poorly maintained. We should get paid for doing maintenance didn't expect that on vacation. 1 dryer doesn't dry clothes still wet after 60min. Need a change machine nobody does coin operated laundry anymore 2 light switches didn't work. 3 shower rod falls down 4 defrost the freezer, ice trays more damage than ice maker 5 replace AC unit filters or provide fans put UV window film on windows 6 master bedroom reeked of toxic gas/burnt rubber smell 7 replace shelf in twin bathroom 8 K. sink drain plug doesn't plug. 8 You say family friendly but no TVs in bedrooms the master bedroom doesn't need 5 large unnecessary mirrors on half the wall or ugly paintings. 9 wifi kept shutting down. Only reason i didn't report this is because the list kept growing and I was trying to be nice and knew nothing would be done about it. Decor was nice building has a 70s vibe but no maintenance since the 70s. Also if you insist that guests empty trash change the drop off hours to earlier than 8am, people have flights to catch, otherwise do it yourself it's not like housekeeping has that much to. Anyway the vrbo description was misleading and I feel cheated by not getting what I paid for. Salt water does poor management of their properties. Will not choose this again.

Spacious apartment

The condo was very spacious. So lovely to have 2 bathrooms. We only used the primary shower. The bathtub shower could use a little updating. The kitchen had what we needed, we only made breakfast. The pan was in good condition. There was only salt, pepper and a couple of condiments in the frig. No oils or other spices or coffee. There is a 12 cup coffee maker with reusable filter. The parking spot is in the rear of the building, there are stairs from the lot to enter to the back door, you need the key after hours, and there will be stairs to the elevator after hours. Not a problem if you are ok with stairs. We would have done laundry in the building had we known that there is a change machine somewhere downstairs. The machines are coin operated,2 washers. We ended up going to the laundromat. With that, the communication with the hosts is most likely work hours, so be aware of that. There was a happening coffee spot about 5 minute walk away. We didn’t have a chance to make it there. We had a nice walk in the park in the back of the condo.

Good fit for the right guests

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros...right in the heart of Hilo Town! Very clean and spacious.Cons...parking space located in back of condo next to an open park. Walk is a bit far and if you get back too late you have to walk up many stairs to the first floor to get to elevators. Carrying a lot of bags, etc. very heavy and inconvenient. Also, a lot of poop from ducks on the walkway. Bathrooms are not equipped for handicap, elderly or people with knee, back problems. Shower door in master bedroom opens less than halfway. Entering sideways without anything to hold onto can be dangerous. Toilet is also extremely low to the floor. Luckily those who stayed here didn’t have any physical limitations. Might be a good thing to mention this in description. I will not be staying here again for the reasons I mentioned but if they aren’t of any concern for you, this might be a good place to stay!

Stayed 1 Week for a Family Gathering

There are pro's and cons to the condo. First the pros;The view is amazing from the livingroom and the master bedroom overlooking the park and the bay. The condo is good size and quite comfortable.Location is centrally located and close to everything.Easy parking.Cons:Very loud coqui frogs keeping you awake every night. from dusk to dawn...and a wild pig greeted my brother in 5am in the parking lot.when he went down to the car to go get his morning coffee and newspaper. Security did nothing to get that pig out of the parking lot. They could see it on their cameras, because they sit right next to the elevators.Needs 2 TV's. .There is only one. Refrigerator appeared to look like it had an icemaker in the door. It was not working. Owner brought me a bag of ice instead. .I was given a refund for the inconvenience of other problems we experienced with the outside building being painted.during our stay without being told. Next time, I will go to a local realty company,VRBO has too many fees!

Short stop in Hilo

Owners of this 50 year old high rise have done a good job of maintenance and upkeep; always a challenge in a tropical location. Fellow residents/travelers were polite and friendly and we always felt safe. Coqui frogs were quite noisy as is the case in much of this area, but we kept the windows closed and slept well. Would recommend this place. One note to owners: knives need sharpening; very hard to cut much of anything.
