The Space:

This is the perfect couples or small family getaway. This Carriage House Apartment is upstairs over the garage behind a large beachfront house and it offers plenty of privacy. Go around the side of the main house and you find the sunset deck for your use to enjoy the amazing views, or relax in the lake breezes while you grill out.



What's better yet? The fact that this unit is located only a matter of steps away from private beach access to Lake Michigan. Enjoying the summer heat while you sip on a cool beverage has never been easier, and we're absolutely sure you'll fall in love with the sound of the waves crashing off in the distance.



Offers a full kitchen, tidy living area, a bright bedroom with Queen bed, plus additional sleeping in the living room.



*Water levels and beach conditions change on a regular basis. Some days there is not much beach and some days there is quite a bit of beach. You can enjoy the beautiful views from the sunset deck on the stairs. The main house deck is a private area*

We're available Monday - Friday (9a - 4p), dedicated to helping guests with any questions they may have while they're planning their summer excursion to our area, and helping current guests get the most out of their experience with tips and tricks to help them live like locals while they're staying with us.



For our incoming guests:



Prior to your arrival you will receive all pertinent check-in information communicated via email and mobile SMS messaging. This will include all necessary information to access this luxurious home and make it your own, as well as a local destination guide with our personal recommendations on local eats and activities in the area.



We also provide an after hours emergency phone number to call in case an issue arises outside of our standard business hours. Additionally, we provide you with a mobile SMS number that you can text message to get a hold of one of our local area experts.

Great weekend getaway!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend away and loved it! Can’t beat the beach access and a few minute drive from town. Would recommend!

Couples trip

Had a great trip spending a week at the beach. Downtown was close. The beach was great. We visited some other little towns in the area and everything was really nice. The property was very clean.

If you need a smaller place that happens to have its own private beach, this is your place. One can still walk to the downtown area, but it is on the water. Someone in another review said to get up early to see deer come to the lake to get a drink, the first night we saw 3 deer walking through the area right below the steps to the sand. It was perfect.

It was such an amazing little place to stay. Just the perfect size and I cannot say enough about the view and beach!! Just perfect. And the owner is the most lovely and kind woman. 10 out of 10

Apartment setting above garage. Perfect location, just minutes from shops and lake activities. Private beach access was wonderful. There is a bit of a sandy hill at the bottom of the 38 stairs which was hard on our knees and ankles, but the kids had no issues! There is NO laundry facilities at the location. Wi-Fi was weak but made for a nice break. Cell service was minimal as well.

Unplugged, peaceful and relaxing!

Wonderful property! Easy access to the beach down the stairs. The beach was not crowded due to this area being private house and not large complexes. Plenty of things to do in South Haven if you like! Fully stock kitchen and great grill just outside the door. Love the sunsets!

Perfect for Our Purpose

Just what we needed. Great location with a beautiful beach access just steps, 38 of them, from your door. Well maintained with plenty of privacy. Beach and deck on the lakeside of the property was perfect for morning walks and evening sunsets.

Incredible location!

While you can't see the lake well from the unit, the grounds were absolutely wonderful. A short walk around the main house and down a wood stairway, and there are you on the beach. There is a small but totally beautiful deck from which to view the sunset every night. The beach is lovely -- the sand perfect and the walk along the beach beautiful. A warning -- don't rent this unit if you are unsteady on your feet or require assistance walking. There were stairs up to the unit and many wooden stairs down to the beach which could be a touch slippery in the morning dew. But the reward! (Also if you are a foodie, bring your own knife.) Best vacation ever on Lake Michigan beaches for us.
