This was a great place to stay for our guys weekend. Just a short drive to the orchards, bars, and restaurants. Waking up to a view of the bluffs and having coffee on the porch was very enjoyable. We would definitely stay again.

The cabin was clean and such a fun place to stay. Our two younger daughters loved the hot tub inside and all the animals Cody took us to see on the property. Cody was so friendly and good with our girls. We definitely want to come back again!! 10/10 recommend!

We had such a great stay here! The host was very understanding and helpful! We loved the hot tub!! We also loved walking around the property, it is so gorgeous. The animals there are such a cool touch to the property, we got to see and pet the donkeys and horses! Overall, such a great stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at in the Cowboy Retreat at Cody’s Ranch was lovely! Ed greeted us and provided us a great overview of the property inside and out. The space was clean, well furnished (great beds!), and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and walking down to see the chickens and buffalo.The indoor hot tub was a bonus, and we enjoyed it after a day of outdoor activity. Ed’s recommendation to get dinner at Jones’ Black Angus in Prairie du Chien was terrific!! We highly recommend staying here!

We had some issues: our big room with the bed in the closet smelled bad,the hot tub was not hot enough, not enough fans,the towels smelled bad. Making the reservation was not the greatest. We thought when we made the reservations that you got the whole house. The people above us keeped walking all night.

We will be looking into the towels, closest odor, and hot tub temperature to make sure everything is addressed for future guests. We are also sorry there was confusion about the accommodations. Cowboy Retreat is a private unit within a larger building, rather than the entire house, and we do try to make that clear in the listing. We understand, however, that this may not have been what you expected when making the reservation. As for the noise from upstairs, we’re sorry it disturbed your stay. Because the accommodations are in a shared building, some normal foot traffic from other guests can occasionally be heard. We appreciate the feedback and will use it to make improvements.

When we pulled up, we were immediately greeted by Cowboy Ed and his dogs! Ed was one of the best parts - great to talk to and willing to teach anything and everything horse related. Beautiful property in a beautiful area, especially during the fall time. One thing to note (and we could have just missed this by not paying close enough attention to the details in the listing): This is a shared property. Ed and his dogs live on-site, and there was another party staying in the upstairs lodge (our party was downstairs). We could hear some occasional footsteps and some barking from the dogs. Not a problem for us, but worth noting. Would return!

Incredible Stay.

This is our first time here.. we highly recommend it , and you will not regret it because it is so peaceful. Many places to visit nearby and the views are incredible.

Very nice property

This is a very nice place. I think calling it a working ranch is a bit of a stretch, but it was nice to hang out with the animals.

Great Relaxing Get Away

Beautiful location with a great Country feel. The owner obviously takes pride in his place and was very friendly. It's also set up to be very friendly for family's with kids and I will go back with my kids in the summer/fall.

Great Cowboy Getaway

We desperately needed to get out of the city and connect with nature! This was the perfect spot to relax and live on a ranch for a couple days! We feed the animals, went for walks, listened to the birds and capped off the evenings with a dip in the hottub.Great time!

In town for a wedding and had a short stay. Were fortunate to get an ATV tour of property which was a treat. Wish we had more time.

Peaceful & Relaxing!

It was a great way to get away without the kiddos. The fire pit area allowed us 6 adults to relax after dinner. We followed the fire with hot tub! Comfy beds, plenty of towels. The smart tvs were great!

Long weekend with the family

Had an amazing long weekend with the family at Cody's Ranch. Between Ed and his stories (Ed is the property manager), the views, the horses, chickens, donkey and cows, getting to feed them, the horse riding lesson, getting to take my son on the ATV on the miles and miles of trails on the property, the campfires and having some fun burning some wood with some branding irons, it was perfect!

Cowboy Getaway

Tub/shower could be cleaned better. Outdoor rubber sidewalk was lumpy. Could improve for disabled persons. Overall nice stay

Women's Weekend Getaway

This was a great location for our women's weekend away. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. Property tour, hike and living quarters were as advertised. Ed was an attentive manager and addressed our requests in a timely manner. Fire ban kept us from enjoying a campfire. If you're a light sleeper - consider earplugs if on the lower level (some noise/movement heard) overnight which is expected in a shared lodge.

Very nice property

My husband and I rented this for a quick weekend away. It's in the downstairs of the on-site property manager's home. He was a super kind and helpful man! Very down to earth. We did not use the outdoor amenities but would have in the warmer months. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. It was very relaxing. The kitchen has everything you could need for cooking your own meals. The unit was very clean and very well maintained.

Beautiful Location

We came to the Eastmen area to ride our side -by-sides, and this was a great location right on a County road trail to ride, and the home was beautiful, comfortable and lots of room for our group. Denise was so easy to communicate with and Ed was at the home when we arrived and showed us the living area and around the property. This is the lower level of the house, so there was some noise through the floor from the dogs and others moving into the upper cabin at night, but not horrible. We didn't have much time to explore the property or enjoy the fire pit and outdoor area, but would have been a beautiful area to enjoy a nice evening.
