The space:
The apartment is located in a downtown Historic building, there is a restaurant and wedding venue in the building. Like any downtown area there is a variety of pedestrian traffic in the area, from nearby offices and restaurants, etc. Including homeless individuals.

Guest access:
Guests will access the building with a key fob and access the apartment itself with a unique code. You will need to retrieve a key fob from a lock box prior to accessing the building.

Other things to note:
A Twin Rollaway (single bed) bed is located in the bedroom closet to be used in the living room for extra guests.

Ring doorbell camera records the outside of the door. Doorbell camera is there for security purposes and is not to be disturbed or disconnected. Camera shows part of the inside of the living room when swinging door open.

Parking:
Parking is provided in an open lot next to the building.

Elevator:
If for whatever reason both elevators are not working guests understand they must take the stairs and are okay with that. Listing is located on the 3rd floor.

Great location in Birmingham

Nice location in walking distance of good food museums and train station. Would stay there again if ever in the area.

A perfect spot for a family of 3!

The host/owner Sarah was wonderful! She communicated well, made the listing very accurate, the property was very clean with a nice lounge area and gym. My wife, daughter, and I will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks Sarah! God Bless.

Rustic and charming

The pictures of this property were accurate. Sure there were imperfections but it added to the rustic charm. Would stay here again but would definitely bring ear plugs. Cute place!!

In and out

We arrived to broken AC and the owner refunded us. We did not stay. Check in was a bit harder than typical. Parking was a bit sus and the walk down a dark alley wasn’t ideal. Elevators were broken. Condo was clean and decorative.

I found out my VRBO had been cancelled when I was standing outside of the apartment door getting ready to key in. Customer service was less than helpful. All that would say to me is my money would be refunded. That is not helpful when you are in a city you’ve never been to before and have no idea where to go to find lodging. The first place we found only had one room for one night and it took almost an hour of searching online before we found something.

We enjoyed the actual condo but the area around was not the greatest. When we arrived there was a homeless man sleeping in the side entrance where we were to pickup the keys. He seemed harmless but was still unnerving when you have children. Very strong scents of cannabis and alcohol in the area and a lot of homeless people hanging out at the entrance of the building. The host was fantastic and communicated very well. The morning we left there was human feces in the walkway to parking lot. Overall if you need a place for adults to stay for a quick night I would recommend. However not suitable for families.

It was a quiet cousin get together and we had a lot of fun. Fabulous food and drinks nearby snd in the building. We learned we were just a couple of blocks from the real downtown entertainment district, so walking after dark was a little dangerous we didnt run into any problems. The apartment itself was very comfortable and clean

Great Stay

Sarah, the property manager, was amazing. She was extremely communicative and helpful on every level. She was always quick to respond. The apartment was incredibly clean, well stocked and has a cool urban feel to it. My daughter stayed here for almost 3 months while interning at the Birmingham Barons. She really enjoyed the apartment, the gym and the little convenience store located in the building. Location was perfect for her, as it's very close to stadium, UAB and Five Points.

The apartment is unlivable, smells horrible. Concrete floors, no carpeting, it looks like something from prison. There's a homeless mission right across the street. Junkies and crackheads all along the street around the "apartment". The lockbox area is in an alley, again, crackheads and junkies all around, not safe to go to your car in the daytime, much less at night. Host was terrible. Very Rude. Refused to refund our money even though we didn't stay one night. It is very unsafe to walk to downtown from that area. Barely have a train, the host brags about. Our stay in Birmingham was trash.We will absolutely, 100% never return.

Perfect for what I needed.

Two night stay for a local conference. Easy access to downtown and local attractions. Listing was exactly as expected clean and comfy little place. Would be willing to stay again for sure. If you are not familiar with downtown Bham it can be a little intimidating of an area. This is not a drive up and walk in type of stay. However the host did an amazing job of guiding and communicating. You need to check in during the light. It can seem a little uneasy at night but again this is downtown Bham. The elevator was out of order during my stay but the stairs were fine to get up and down. I never felt unsafe or in danger in any way. Inside the rental was clean and very well kept.

Great host, well maintained, convenient location, but a bit sketch on the surroundings.

Sarah was fabulous and was really attentive and responsive to any communication. The apartment was fit for my purpose. I was in for a few days by myself for work and it was ideal. With that said, I couldn't help but be a little nervous parking and walking with my luggage to the entrance of the apartment. I want to be clear... that is not a knock on the host or the way the apartment was maintained. I would just be wary for an individual, in particular a female, to arrive at night and have hands full trying to navigate the check-in process. There is a 24/7 security guard, but I never saw them. I guess my advice would be to check-in during the day if you are alone. I really hate coming across as negative when reviewing, especially when the actual place is great and the host is awesome. Overall, my stay was just fine. No other issues whatsoever. I would stay here again.

Location is perfect for easy access to everything Birmingham has to offer. The apartment is fully equipped with the long term traveler in mind. In-unit laundry, designated work space, cozy living space and spacious eating area. Gym, Movie room, convenience store, restaurant and event venue are all located in the building.
