Thanks Gina - appreciate your response. We are owners and also manage properties professionally with the ultimate goal of creating 5 star experiences. Once a guest books we ask the guest to complete an arrival form to better prepare for our guests and to sign a lease, both of these are links. This is a fairly standard process these days to assure that hosts provide the best experience to all guests! We also communicate via email once booked as many do not check the app. Where folks prefer one communication method over the other we typically receive a request. We have built our business on world class COMMUNICATION and FAST RESPONSE to guest requests! We also stock plenty of blankets in each room, we just don’t place on bed as our guests like to tailor to their need via thermostat, fireplaces, and additional blankets. We are also very clear on the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and where they are in the house, including pics. The downstairs room you referred to is actually a first floor, not a basement (house does not have a basement). Many of our guests love this spacious room with its own entry, new queen bed, dedicated TV and supplemental heat!

Hi Ray, Thanks for your feedback. However, it is unfortunate that you did not realize that the camera is unplugged, and is no longer functional. We are very clear in our write ups, that we have ONLY OUTWARD facing cameras for security purposes only when the property is vacant. We did not have much communication with you, and would have put you at ease if you had reached out. We do take hosting very seriously, and wish we could have had that communication to put you at ease.

No Smell Found As Super Hosts (on all platforms) we take reviews very seriously and so want to start by thanking these guests for staying at our home and for taking the time to write this review. We always strive to give our guests 5 - Star experiences with the foundation being communication (please check our properties)! That is why we have to say we were surprised by this review as the guest only communicated that all was fine and they understood as they owned a property in the woods. The guest did indeed communicate, as stated in the review, that there was a smell in the room that led to the backyard. Please keep in mind that the cabin is in the woods (that is the charm) but that also means the risk of animals. Because of this risk we sent in two teams the next day but, and a little to our surprise, the guests refused to allow our folks into the part of the house they were staying and where they claimed smell. The teams consisted of: - Our Professional cleaning crew - they could not Identify smell or any deceased animals under the house (the house foundation is sealed) - Professional exterminator, on routine inspection contract, also found no animals and could also not smell what the guests claimed they smelled These teams searched where they were permitted and could not find anything. As we are very sensitive to guest issues we did offer and gave a 20% discount, despite not being able to get our team into the house in any way to confirm or address the noted issue. If we had been able to get in the area and trace any smell we may have been able to address the issue more directly at the time. As it stands, we did find a rodent outside the house much later after their stay. The rodent was under the porch in the backyard, immediately adjacent to the room that was referenced. By this time the rodent had no smell whatsoever (we had VRBO/BNB guests that stayed after and reported no issue!. If we had been allowed into the house/room we suspect that we could have found the little guy outside and addressed this more immediately & directly. Since then we have fenced off the outside porch and have extended our paid exterminator services to this area! Your Hosts - Mike & Tammy
