Nestled beside picturesque Lake Kanasatka, this charming vacation home accommodates 8 guests and offers a serene escape in nature. Enjoy the tranquility of a natural shorefront surrounded by a spacious grassy yard where children can play freely. Explore the nearby hiking trails of Red Hill for off-water adventures. The home's convenient location allows for easy drives to the amenities of Center Harbor and Meredith, including grocery stores, restaurants, and shops.

The heart of the home resides on the main floor, where your group can gather in the cozy living room and dining area. Both rooms open to a generous deck overlooking the water, featuring a convenient gas grill for delightful outdoor cooking experiences. Adjacent to the dining area, a well-equipped kitchen awaits. This level hosts the primary bedroom with a queen bed and a separate den furnished with a queen sleep sofa. There’s also a full bath on this level.

Upstairs, discover two more inviting bedrooms – one with a queen-sized bed and another with two twin beds. Both bedrooms open onto a second deck that offers breathtaking views of the lake. A cozy sitting area outside the bedrooms offers a place to curl up and read, and this floor also has a ¾ bath with laundry included.

No motorboats allowed, the dock provided is for canoes and rowboats only. No fires, please – the indoor fireplace is not available for guest use. The firepit pictured does not come with the property and is not available for guest use. This home does not offer air conditioning, only portable fans.

GREAT vacation home

Everything was just as we hoped!!! Highly recommend ! The lake was clear and the temp perfect. Loved the dock and the platform we could swim to. It was so good to have the reclining beach chairs on their own little platform. Bonus points for being able to hear the loons!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Over all the property met with expectations. The one big negative was that there really wasn't a large sandy beach as advertised. The beach area was overgrown and not cut down. The water from the beach out to the raft was filled with growth with a mutky bottom. It was definitely not a pleasant experience to just hang out in the water.

The home was spacious enough to accommodate everyone on rainy days, and bright and airy enough to enjoy during good weather. The kitchen had everything needed for meal prep, and the living room and bedrooms were lovely. The property was immaculate and well-maintained, inside and out, and water access to quiet Lake Kanasatka was unbeatable. We could hike, swim, kayak, read, and play to our hearts’ content. I would definitely recommend it to a group of 5-8.

The house itself offers flexibility for multiple family groups but is a bit dated in some spots and could use a light refresh. Otherwise great stay and I highly recommend it!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed the location very much and appreciated the size and privacy of the yard and the level lot and beach area. The description of four bedrooms was inaccurate as the fourth bedroom had a pull out couch which was very uncomfortable. They need a new refrigerator as was not able to keep the food at appropriate temperature. The manager did send someone out to look at fridge and adjusted the controls but we had to throw out some of our dairy items as questioned safety of food. The tv did not work the first week and was replaced with new tv by beginning of second week.

POOR SWIMMING

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: THE HOUSE ITSELF WAS VERY NICE BUT THE SWIMMING WAS HORRIBLE. IT WAS EXTREMELY SHALLOW/SLIMY/WEEDY AND YOU HAD TO GO OUT TO THE FLOATING DOCK IF YOU WANTED TO SWIM. THE ACCESS POINT INTO THE WATER WAS VERY ERODED AND WOULD GET EXTREMELY MUDDY SO WE HAD TO KEEP RAKING IT. THE YARD WAS NICE A FLAT AND THE HOUSE WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT SWIMMING, THIS WOULD PROBABLY BE A GREAT CHOICE.

Beautiful House, Poorly Maintained, Shallow & Weedy Lake Access

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the house for you if you like noise, filth and weeds.--INSIDE-- The home is spacious and has nice furniture and décor. Unfortunately, the house had not been well cleaned in some time. Our feet stuck to the kitchen floor (even our teens wouldn’t walk barefoot inside). The stovetop and exhaust hood were caked with grease. The counters were dirty. There were food crumbs in the kitchen chairs, under the ottoman and in the slipcovers. There were cobwebs and dust throughout. The TV and slider windows were smeared with fingerprints. The mats/area rugs in the bathrooms were filthy. When we called about the conditions, the rental company had the cleaners call us. The cleaners didn’t show for the first time we arranged, called later to arrange another time, didn’t show for that time either, then never called again. The rental company made excuses for the cleaning company and has yet to resolve the situation to our satisfaction (we feel we shouldn’t have to pay a cleaning fee for a house we ended up cleaning ourselves). --OUTSIDE-- The sandy beach shown in the 7-year-old photos is now overgrown with weeds; which were 10” tall when we arrived as the lawn had not been mowed in weeks (the rental company did send someone to mow at our request). Steady traffic noise from Rt 25 detracted from the pictorially serene setting. The lake is very shallow in this cove and the photos don’t reflect how much the lily pads and lake weeds have grown in. The water is only about 15” deep at the far end of the dock, and weeds grow to just a foot or two below the surface all the way out to the raft. Our only swimming was done from floats paddled far out in the lake. The property is very private, but the stretch of woods between neighbors didn’t protect us from the icing on the cake for our disappointing week: construction sounds that started at 7:00 each morning from an addition being built on the house next door.

Don't rent here if you want to swim!

Too bad they didn't mention that the lake here is very shallow. We walked out well past the end of the dock, but the water never came past the knees. The lake bottom became very mushy and unpleasant, so too gross to continue walking, and way too shallow to swim. Huge disappointment for us, as swimming is our major reason for renting a vacation house. Might be good for small children to splash around. Big house, nicely furnished. 1st floor bathroom has 2 sections: outer sink area and very small inner toilet/bathtub area. House is close to Route 25 and amenities, but feels private. Low traffic on Red Hill Rd, but you can hear cars passing. Note that if it rains, you'll be stuck in the house as the 1st floor deck gets just as wet as the upstairs deck.

Great place for a week away!

We quilt and relax and just take it easy, don't worry about meals as there are good places to eat and places to go should we wish . The house fit all our needs and the beach was a nice place to sit and get some sun. The deck was also great to sit and read or have a meal.

A great way to relax and get away from it all !!!

This has become a yearly retreat for a close group of five women who share a love of quilting, reading and just being together. The space was nicer and larger than expected. The beach was perfect for our 2 year old as it was shallow enough that he could walk through it, but then got deeper near the dock so you could jump in and swim around. You will be lucky to stay here!
