1930's Stone Cottage with spectacular views!

Enjoy a piece of history, this stone house was built in the 1930's. One of three that were part of Rimrock Ranch Bar Lazy-R, a "dude ranch" where VIPs and movie stars would stay as they were filming westerns in the Sedona area or relaxing. In the 60’s it was Mobster getaway hiding spot. The stone house sits elevated on a hillside with overlooking panoramic views of forestry land, local homes & farms, with scenic pinions.

Clean cottage, host was excellent. Ranch hands were friendly. Views are fantastic. All the animals were a lot of fun to interact with. Will certainly come back next time we're in the area.

Absolutely one of the best finds I have had the opportunity to experience. From start to finish. I recommend any and everyone check this place out. Great view, great vibe, lots of history (of the town) located on the shelf. It was just very accommodating / satisfying. This stay was much needed Thank you for opening your lovely home for such beautiful experiences.

What a fantastic place to stay. A beautiful stone building near the top of a hill with a great garden and a brilliant host Joe. We were there for only two days on a road trip from Phoenix to Seattle but it really wonderful. A very well equipped kitchen, good WiFi, comfortable bed and lots of external seating to enjoy the sun, the views during the day and the start sky at night. Joe, the host provided lots of information about the history of the property and the former ranch it is situated on. Delightful also to see the chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys in the adjoining runs and the goats in a small field behind. And don't worry, no early morning alarm calls from the Rhode Island Red roosters! We really enjoyed our stay in a very beautiful place - highly recommended.

Stone cottage

Wonderful rustic cottage where we relaxed and disconnected. Great location with peace and quiet. Bed was very comfortable and kitchen well stocked.

Amazing stone cottage

We only stayed for one night but the owner is extremely friendly and hospitable! This is such a lovely comfortable place to stay. You cannot beat the views! We even got to see the farm animals! Thank you for having us and hope to stay again next year!

Beautiful historic ranch

This place has enough so all you need are to pack clothes and food. The host is knowledgable of the area and friendly. It's a nice break from Phoenix heat and higher elevation is further up the road.

Rustic retreat with beautiful views

I had a nice long stay at Joe’s little mountaintop farm. The views across the desert are awesome, and the cottage is a sweet little place to stay. Joe and all of his animals are very friendly and hospitable.

Weekend getaway

Our experience was so nice and relaxing. So many games at the home and a cozy space. My pups had space to roam outside and of course the farm and sunset views were the best part

I absolutely loved staying here. The cottage was perfect and a lovely retreat. The fires at night were absolutely amazing. Love the location and a special shout-out to both Joe and Kyle. Joe has such a deep appreciation for the history and both were so passionate about the animals and what they were doing! Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Very relaxing

Had a great time staying at the stone cottage. It was so nice to unplug, sit in front of the fireplace at night and just relax. The farm animals are really fun and the fresh eggs are amazing. The location is close enough to get to Sedona to enjoy the trails and amenities but not have to deal with the crowds. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely Stay

This was the perfect getaway. Joe was very helpful, let me know that I could check in early, and generously introduced me to the animals and shared ideas for activities in the area. The cottage was spotless and a nice mix of yesterday and modern conveniences. Location-wise, it was away from it all but still convenient to Sedona and local attractions. There was plenty of privacy, and the sunsets were breathtaking.

Unique getaway with a scenic view

The place was a great getaway from the noise of the city to the tranquility of the nature, where you get to enjoy fresh breeze, have a hill-top view, and great for stargazing at night. You get to meet and feed some chicken, ducks, geese, goats, and turkeys, which was so much fun. There are so many hiking trails nearby as well. Joe was very friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. I would definitely consider visiting again!

Great memories with the kids!

We absolutely loved our stay here, our kids had a blast visiting with all the animals, the home is very clean and cozy. The view off the porch is so cool, the front yard is fenced in which was perfect for kids and dog. Joe is very hospitable and made sure we had everything we need, he even gave us a bunch of goose, duck and chicken eggs. It’s a little off the beaten path but would absolutely recommend staying here to make fun memories with your family they will never forget!

I am transitioning to farm life, as I develop my 2.7 and 6.8 acre neighboring properties for horses, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, bees and rabbits. Looking to turn this historic property homes and remaining property into an aquaponics and traditional farm that is self supporting and a source of education for locals, students, guests. As well as a local source for neighboring restaurants. Watch the property come alive and evolve, as I bring the rich history of this property from late 1920's dude ranch for stars and VIPs thru the 1950's to the 1960's vacation and getaway for the Mafia...into sustainable growing ranch and farm.

The ranch is located less than 3 miles from highway 17. From here you can easily travel to all of the sites and activities that the Verde Valley has to offer, without getting stuck in the tourist traffic of Sedona. Your one exist south of Sedona, One exit north of Camp Verde, east of Cornville and Cottonwood.

Enjoy the panoramic views with great sunsets. The Cottage overlooks a 40 acre ranch with cattle, that roam the area. There are goats (7 new ones born in May and April), Geese, Peking Ducks, Running Ducks, Muscovy Ducks, Turkeys, chickens and a bee hive. Fetch your own fresh eggs daily. Detach and escape your busy life with your very own animal relaxation crew...lol
