Great stay near bar harbour and Acadia. The house was well designed and had most of what we needed. The backyard view was amazing! Could have had more consistent heating throughout but otherwise excellent stay!

The house was exactly as described on the website. It was clean, well appointed and quiet and the deck view was beautiful. If we have the chance, we would stay here again.

Such a great way to enjoy all MDI has to offer. Our family of six had plenty of room and the day had several games/kid gear on site.

Puffins Perch, where do I even begin. Location 10/10 (30 min drive to Bar Harbor but drive is beautiful in Fall), amenities 10/10 (had everything we needed and more), views 100/10 (absolutely loved waking up the woods, wind, and wildlife most mornings). It was our first visit to Maine and this home did not disappoint and added to the value of fun and comfort we experienced. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were spacious, and living areas offered plenty of room for relaxing, playing games, watching TV or whatever your heart desires. There’s a pinball machine and a great big table for card games (our favorite) or board games. There’s a nice fire pit with wood provided and fire starters available. Binoculars are available for bird/wildlife watching. There are quite a few light switches that took some time to figure out which ones controlled what, but that’s not a biggie. Overall this trip and home was a fantastic stay! We would love to visit again some day.

This home is amazing! It was beautiful, comfortable and has everything (and more!) that we could ever need. It felt like we were at home. The view off the deck was stunning. This was a VERY last minute booking as our original booking was cancelled two days before arriving. In the end, it worked out better than we could have anticipated and are very thankful the owner’s accommodated us very quickly. We would love to come back to Puffins Perch :)

Great place for our annual sibling/ spouses /all-adult vacation. Perfectly located for everything we wanted to do - hiking, restaurants and shopping. We really enjoyed the fire pit and quiet location too.

Peaceful stay in Maine

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The house was in a quiet location and we spent a good amount of our time in front of the large windows or out on the deck enjoying the views. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We would definitely return on our next trip!

Great getaway

This home was beautiful! It’s a little drive to some parts of Acadia but the beauty and peaceful vibe of the property make it worth it! The property manager was easy to deal with and quick responding. We would absolutely stay here again!

The house is spacious and comfortable and accommodated our multi-generational group of 7. The decks and views over the water are gorgeous. The kitchen has everything needed for meal prep. The house is in a quiet and secluded area and feels very private. We even saw a bald eagle soar past one afternoon.

Nice and secluded

We had a wonderful time at Puffins Perch! It was a nice space for our family of 7. It was clean and well maintained and had all the things we needed for our week on MDI. The outdoor deck was definitely a highlight for the adults and the pinball machine was the highlight for the kids.

Enjoyed very much Could have used a step stool for the 5 year and 2 yr old to wash their hands , but otherwise Very good kid stuff adult games and loved the fire pit !

Amazing!

This property was above and beyond our expectations. We were looking in Bar Harbor and I’m so glad we found this instead. Quiet, secluded and amazing views. The cottage was just beautiful. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends etc.

Perfect location to enjoy Acadia

Had a group of 6 retirees. The property was perfect for our group. Loved the quiet location. Wish i could have given more than 5 stars for communicating with property management. Anytime of day or night they were quickly responsive and could not have been nicer. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful, Relaxing, Beautiful

Puffin Perch is exactly as described. We had an amazing stay -- remote and quiet house with access to Acadia (15 min) and Bar Harbor (30 min). We enjoyed the fire pit, a sunset at seal cove, and quick drive to Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Very well stocked and easy check in/out process. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great location, fully equipped

No issues, it’s serene and quiet. It had all the goods, and amenities. One thing was that the beds were smaller than we thought, and if you’re 6ft or taller you need more space.

Puffins Perch

Nice little house close to Acadia. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals and the pinball machine was a huge hit with everyone. We had an issue with a few things, but nothing that would make me not recommend this place.

Better than the pictures!

This house was perfect for our group and the pictures on line didn’t do it justice! The main rooms were much bigger than expected with the high ceilings. We loved the location ( nice and quiet) and it was great coming back to the house in the evening to relax after a day of hiking. The view off the back deck was beautiful! The icing on the cake was seeing the aurora borealis one evening while we started a fire in the fire pit. We would definitely stay here again!

The check in information sent prior was very handy since cell service/gps is so spotty.The location is lovely and peaceful. The drive to Bar Harbour is about 25 minutes but worth it to be away from the traffic and crowds. There are plenty of things to do closer so being bored would certainly not be an option here!The kitchen is very well equipped though our stay did not really allow for much cooking. I did find more equipment than I would need in case you do have time. The master is away from the other bedrooms so a nice setup. There are plenty of games and puzzles for families in the evening and a lovely fire pit on the back deck.My only regret is only having 4 nights so our evenings “at home” were very limited. Stay longer if you can!My only complaint was a very loud washer near the other bedrooms. Simply start your load early in the day as it was hard for that side to go to bed until the cycle completed.A very great location overall and we would return.

Lovely Stay

This was a beautiful property and we felt that the pictures did not do it justice. There is a very pretty stream at the bottom of the hill that can be seen from the deck and fire pit area. The kids enjoyed the pin ball machine, puzzles, and games that were available. We liked that the property was so quiet and felt out of the way without the trouble of a difficult drive or parking. We never did figure out how to get to the easement for the water. We followed the instructions on the house information and were met by the neighbor who informed us that there are people always looking for the easement but that there isn’t one. We were unaware of just how spread out Acadia is, so while the house is close to several areas of the park, if you are planning on the visitor center or Bar Harbor, plan for 30 minutes. Overall, our only issue (which did not diminish the quality of the stay as a whole) was that the listing said there was a furnace, but we did not have a way to turn one on and it was rather chilly at night. We contacted the management group who immediately responded, and they said the owner had electric blankets and a small portable heater for use.

Relaxing home for your Acadia visit!

This was our first visit to Mt Desert Island. Puffin's Perch was a beautiful, spacious and well maintained home that allowed us to relax while visiting the area. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked to make anything you might want - including lobster. The bedrooms and baths were clean and had plenty of extra linens available in the closets. The dining room table is large. We had family friends over for dinner one night and were able to seat 11 comfortably. The bonus for us was a pinball game machine that everyone in the family had a fun time with in between park visits.This home is located in what they call the "quiet side of the island". We enjoyed staying away from the busy tourist areas most of the week. However, the downside to this was that it was 30 minutes to Bar Harbor. We only went there 2-3 times all week but it made for longer days as coming home to clean up from hiking to dinner clothes didn't make sense time-wise. The only decent grocery store is in Bar Harbor. We flew into Bangor and rented a car. We got a few groceries on the way to the house but didn't realize it would be 30 minutes for other grocery store visits. That might be my biggest complaint of the whole visit. (The best meal we had was at Beal's Lobster Pier, with Archie's Lobster coming in at a close second. The worst was at the Jordon Pond House.Puffin's Perch is a fabulous home! The management company was helpful in getting a couple of questions answered during our stay.
