This was our first time renting a house for a vacation and it was a great experience. The view from the front deck is amazing and the patio furniture is so comfy! The neighborhood is quiet and is a Dark Sky area, allowing you to really see the stars. The hosts provided guide books to local flora and fauna, trail maps, and games. A lot of areas around Durango won’t have cell service, so make sure you have a physical map if you’re heading out to explore.
The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking tools, spices, and condiments, though we didn’t need them because we found so many great places to eat. (Strongly recommend James Ranch Grill for dinner, by the way.) I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to check in and check out and it was nice to have everyone in a single space rather than spreading out over 2-3 separate hotel rooms. Our “kids” are 15, 18, and 20, so a regular hotel room doesn’t work for us.
This was a great fit!
