Jack & Mary's Place er et 5 soveværelser, 3 badeværelser totalrenoveret sommerhus i 1950-tallet stil beliggende på 4 hektar jord på den midterste gaffel af Holston River. Masser af plads på 4 landområder til gruppe volleyball, baseball eller fodboldkampe. Vandrere kan være på Appalachian eller Virginia Creeper Trail, og NASCAR fans kan være på raceway på mindre end en time. Det nyligt ombyggede Lincoln Theatre, det berømte Barter Theatre, Hungry Mother State Park, Emory & Henry College og lokale vingårde ligger få minutter væk.

Great place

This place is ideal for family time. Large rear porch, fire pit, river flowing next to house. Great place to make memories. We loved the experience.

Beautiful setting to gather with dear friends.

We really enjoyed the comfort and spaciousness of our home for 4 days, the surroundings of a stream running by the house, great place to sit outside and visit and the proximity to local sites.

Thanksgiving stay

We had a wonderful stay with our extended family at Jack and Mary’s Place. The house is one of the best VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in. It’s very well stocked and perfect for large groups. We loved looking at the river and being close to local attractions. Thanks for helping make our Thanksgiving so special.

Love Jack & Mary's Place

Our family has stayed at Jack & Mary's Place several times and each time is as good as the last. The house is gorgeous and set up perfectly for larger groups. The property is beautiful with the country feel but just outside of town if you need anything. It's always clean and communication is good if you have any questions. Always looking forward to another trip here!

We loved our stay in Marion and the house was perfect set up for a large group

This house is very clean and roomy. The five beds rooms and three baths makes it a great set up for a large group. The host was very easy to communicate with as well. We loved to watch the trains pass by and listen to the brook and birds in back yard.

Great Motorcycle Trip!

A group of my buddies met up to do some motorcycling on the great roads of southwestern Virginia. This house was a great location and was clean and well put together. It was great to get home each afternoon and then socialize in the back yard listening to the running stream!

Friends reunion

What a beautiful place to gather with a group of 6 life long friends! The outside seating area is perfect for visiting, listening to the stream running through the property. The home is lovely, welcoming, spacious, spotless when we arrived, and a welcome retreat.

Mini Paradise

While this home appears to be a little ranch from the road, it is a mini paradise! It is close to town with the feel of the country. It was incredibly clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The house is very spacious, and the creek in the backyard was beyond soothing. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We all felt very lucky to spend time here!

Quick Family Getaway

We had a great stay at Jack & Mary's place. There was plenty of room for 3 kids and extended family. We thoroughly enjoyed the river, space, and local area despite lots of rain during our stay. The dishwasher was broken upon arrival, but Ann was very communicative and apologetic ahead of time and throughout, and she had it fully fixed in less than 2 days. Thanks for the the great stay!

Perfect Place

This property is perfect for family gatherings. There is so much space, amenities are wonderful, it was super clean, beautiful setting, huge yard with creek running by, fun watching trains go by (noise was not an issue), close to Historic Downtown Marion, close to I-81 (but not so close to her traffic noise, owner very accommodating, easy check-in...overall lovely place! We'll be back :)

Perfect House

We loved our stay here. We had three generations staying and it was the perfect place to relax, visit with each other, and celebrate a graduation. The house is truly a home with all of the family pictures. We loved the sunroom and back porch. The creek and the big yard were a wonderful bonus! Highly recommend this house for a family gathering. Hungry Mother State Park is just down the road, not too far. And some other hiking trails like Greyson Highlands State Park are a little further out.

Very personal

It is a property facing beautiful surrounding: land and a creek. We enjoyed the sound of the train passing. The house is very clean. It has everything one can think and more. It has a history behind which is accessible by pictures and readings. We loved it and we’ll be back!!!!!

Motorcycle getaway

This was our 2nd time staying here. The location is fantastic for motorcycling. Great roads for 100 mile radius. House is super clean, comfortable, neat and well maintained. Looks brand new, like it did as well 3 years ago. When we weren't riding, we were either fly fishing in the stream right next to the house or sitting on the back porch. Well definitely be back again.

River life!

This was such a fun property! Our family loves hanging outside and this was just the place to do it. The river provided such great entertainment with many of us fishing and actually catching trout! The ladies laid in tubes suspended in the river tied down with rope. Others played lots of cornhole and some enjoyed a good book on the back porch. There were also many birds to watch and even saw a mama duck with 8 baby ducklings swimming upstream. The house was comfortable, with lots of rooms and a great living area to hang out in with a gorgeous view of the river. The kitchen was large and well equipped(lots of wine glasses😊). If your a bike enthusiast, the creeper trail is just a 1/2 hour away and it was probably the prettiest rails to trails path I’ve done. We took a day trip to Hungry Mother State Park and went on the water with kayaks and paddle boats. Also road some trails there on my mountain bike. I highly recommend this awesome spot and I know I’ll be returning there next year.

"PERFECT RELAXING GETAWAY. " "We can't begin to describe the beautiful relaxing week. This home has all the amenities that anyone could ask for, plus more. Just bring your food and move in. Very clean and comfortable. We definetley enjoyed the georgeous cozy covered patio, which was complete with grill, very comfortable furniture and beautiful flowers. We wanted and did spend most of our time there, looking at and hearing the sound of the river flowing through the back yard, watching the birds, squirrels and lightning bugs. We enjoyed the surrounding state parks and beautiful mountains, and scenery. Very private country setting, but yet close to shopping and restaurants. If you want somewhere to get away from it all, relax and enjoy the sounds and sights of nature, this is the place. No stress, No hassle. Wonderful! Highly recommend! It was a pleasure making the reservation arrangements with the owner, who went over and above all our expectations to help any and every way and to make sure we were pleased. We hope we can go back again. Great getaway

This was a great getaway for my family. The home sleeps a lot of people (we had 10 adults) and there are multiple spaces to gather. The kitchen was well stocked with prep and cooking implements and the house was spotlessly clean when we arrived. There were plenty of extra towels, pillows and blankets as well. The yard was great, and there were a couple of gathering spaces outside as well. We enjoyed having the windows open so we could hear the river in the house. We only had two complaints - one is that there was only one house key, which meant our whole group had to stay together all the time. The other complaint was more situational for us. We had a severely autistic person in our party and we had to spend a good deal of time hiding the hosts family photos, mementos and books so he wouldn't get into those items, since he has a tendency to rip up books and photos. Otherwise we had a great time and would definitely return to this property in the future.

Great gathering spot

This was our 2nd visit to this home and we loved it. The house is right on a river and you have a great view of it from the large sitting area. The kitchen is big enough to cook meals for large groups. There were 9 of us in the house and there was plenty of room. We’ll be back!

Vacation Cottage was perfect for our large group

The vacation cottage was perfect for our large group- we enjoyed the view of the river, and watching the trains roll by end of the yard; many birds including Blue Heron that visited. The house is very clean and had all we needed for a weekend stay. The five bedrooms and 3 bathrooms accommodated us all.

Amazing stay!

This was our second time staying here and have already booked again for next year. The house is gorgeous and has plenty of room for everybody. Everything went smoothly from check in to check out. This is a great spot for a group of family or friends to get together. Looking forward to another great time next year!

Motorcycle get away

Jack and Mary's place is centrally located to all the major rides on the claw of the dragon. There is more than enough parking for two trucks two 14 foot trailers and 4 motorcycles.

Jack&Mary's Place is the home where I grew up in the 50's. Now our grandchildren can enjoy spending special times together at Jack&Mary's Place. We also invite you to enjoy a peaceful retreat at Jack& Mary’s Place.

Jack & Mary’s Place has always been a peaceful retreat where we could enjoy sitting by the river in our backyard..... maybe even catching a rainbow trout, playing sports with family and friends in the 4 acres of land, or just relaxing and reading a good book on the patio.

We have recently remodeled the lower level with three bedrooms, two baths, and a TV room. This is a unique property with the middle fork of the Holston River and four acres of land to enjoy. This property is 5 minutes from the famous Lincoln theater in Marion, Virginia, 15 minutes from Hungry Mother State Park, and less than an hour from the Appalachian and Virginia Creeper Trails, NASCAR raceway, and Barter theater in Abingdon, Va. Go back in time to the 50's when I was a little girl growing up and living in this house....many items in the house have not changed. Everyone seems to find peace at Jack & Mary's Place.
